Is just me or Isabela actually looks prettier?
And there I was thinking it wasn't possible.
Thanks for the podcast guys! Very interesting listen as always. Props also for including the screenshots, you didn't have to do that but it was a nice touch. Were they PC or console though? Just curious about the layout of icons on the bottom of the screen.
Glad to see the junk section of the inventory is still there for us to dump trash in, handy.
I do hope we see some change in the appearence of our companions over time though! Even one extra outfit per companion would go a long way to changing things up as the ten years go by.

However it sounds a lot more unique and armour upgrades are specific for each companion. That way it fits their style. You wont however for example be able to put plate mail on Isabella. You will however be able to upgrade her look and armour through the game which is most likely preset to her.

I wonder why Bioware would want to restrict choices instead of allowing players to have more freedom...
I think they want to make characters more believable and make the game play really high quality. If Isabella were to equip Heavy Dragonbone Plate this would ruin the believability of her.
We have seen her a an ambitious rogue, jumping and attacking with swift efficiency and Bioware have advertised her as such. As a result she will have her own unique style of in game fighting. She wouldn't be able to do most of what she does wearing over the top types of armours. By upgrading a default set it makes her looks and armour believable and unique to her.
Additionally the fighting style of DA2 isnt like Origins. The fact that you cant equip her with what ever armour you find is actually quite exciting to me. It shows that every companion wont go into combat as the clunky default approach of Origins. We now will have companions with their own physics and abilities which will make combat flow much better and make battles far more visually pleasing and exciting.

There is still customisation for companions, dont jump the gun people.
People hear what they want to hear and the people yelling at the top of their lungs probably didn't hear the rest of the podcast.

Thanks for the podcast; I've got no real complaints. I can already hear the rumble of forum rage coming about the companion's appearance staying the same.
I am curious how it will work to have them automatically upgraded over time.
At least there are ways to enhance them, and there's the rune slots which sound cool.

I'm not sure if I heard anything about this, but for dual wield rogues, do they get two individual weapons to mix and match or is it 'one' weapon set?
And the persistent weapon bit sounds like Fable 3...

Ignoring any discussion of the mechanics, I love the design of the UI, the colours, icons, layout, all look great.
Hmm, I'm not so sure about the icons. They kinda look like road/hazard signs, especially Isabela's 1st, 4th and 8th talents.

Wouldn't it be less believable if a character wear the exact same thing for 10 years during dozens of battles and after sustaining multiple injuries the armor looks the same as brand new (after a decade) ?Captain Crash wrote...

I don't mind having unique outfits, but having only one armor for each character?
I'd have no problems if there were at least 5 unique outfits for each character

It doesn't really make any sense to not let you change the outfits of your various teammates. I don't care if its the greatest outfit of all time, different people like different things, and they should be free to use whatever outfits they like best, not be forced to use a single outfit the whole game. I just don't understand why they would do something like that, its certainly not like its hard at all to let you change your teammates outfits, you do it all the time in DAO. Hopefully they'll correct that mistake soon.
This way, they can change the overall model of the characters and make them individual. It makes perfect sense, if you think about it.

i actually support biowares idea-but not to the extent of ME2.
it gives them a individual look- eg. the rouge armor leliana has that is pretty much carbon copied with various npcs isn't very inspiring compared to what Morgan wears.(or the CG trailers)
but i do like to customize their armors(+stats) If the characters style remains intact. eg. with isabella she would have the same silhouette(dress-thing and boots) but change the style of the boots/dress/headband. and i don't mean colour/pattern-swatching either.(oh maybe 1 or 2)
sorry i have to use fashion examples :
same styles 1|2| 3| 4(ME jack
