Varric is a breast dwarf. He is exaggerating everyone's cup size. Perfect argument!
Actually, when we first noticed Bethany's, er, proportions, some of us thought that was the case; it might be a sort of meta joke, since the screenshot wasn't in context with anything and we'd only ever heard about the exaggerated part.

Unreliable narrators can explain a lot.
Okay okay, if another narrator takes over then the argument is shot but hey, I enjoyed making it.

Facial features are up to character customization. You want an ugly character? Make an ugly character. I wouldn't really have a problem if there were a variety of bodies in Thedas. There are not. Ugly people are not going to be uncommon, nor are plain people.
Except that you're explicitly described as attractive in-game. At least in ME2 or DA:O.

Why stop at body size? In order to be fair shouldnt we want the characters to be average looking at best? Maybe a few ugly ones as well? None of them should be beautiful. Little acne, some bad hair cuts, or bad teeth too?
Funny you should mention teeth...anyway.

I was thinking more along the lines of possible romance interests, other NPCs. After all this discussion did start with a NPC character.

How can you not love that face?

So at this point, is it fair to assume she won't always look like that?<_<

Dont worry, if you have a PC the mods will take care of that

Yeah...part of the problem is that that might be the default mesh for females. Very...um...top heavy.

I forgot about that. Yeah. That was pretty damn weird. (But hilarious, so I couldn't help but like it.)
Also, I think the only people who call Shep pretty in ME2 are love interests (who are required to find you attractive) and a batarian. That last one is almost insulting.

It's not really about Isabela's model or Bethany's model particularly. It's the issue that every female might (probably will) have that model, and especially that your Hawke does, too.
Also, what defines "beauty" is strongly debated when it comes to Isabela.

It's also part of the user agreement that when you sign up for Bioware Social Network you have to participate in a forum debate about boobs at least once per fortnight or lose your posting privileges.
Suddenly so much is now explained.

Its funny, I continue to see others say that is not how an average woman looks. No doubt. These aren't average woman though, they're top tier warriors that spend all day running...or swinging weapons around, and I don't think the models are too outlandish for a physical and no doubt athletically inclined woman.
I concede about the boobs though, they are a bit much

If there were people complaining that the boobs needed to be ratcheted up to J Extra Perky, they were keeping fairly quiet. Otherwise it was complaints about them being too big. Also that the shoulders were wide and the hands enormous. My personal beef was mostly with scrawny elf arms and butts.Bruddajakka wrote...

Somehow, a modder managed to fix the latter problems while keeping proportions that you might actually encounter in a real human being.

I rationalized the scrawniness to being perpetually two tip-toes away from starvation, whether from hiking all day through the wildnerness, scraping for dinner in the Alienage, or as a Warden who is apparently hungry all the time, every time.
The creepy spider hands were not cool though.
This is going to sound like the stupidest thing, but huge breasts in games bother me because I definitely don't have the kind of knockers that, say, Beth was rocking. Am I jealous? Nah, I don't envy her back problems. The problem I have is that it makes me feel left out. Tacking on d-cups to people who seemingly work out most of their lives not only feels slightly far fetched from a logical standpoint, but it also kind of makes me feel left out as far as what is accepted as "pretty".
It's dumb, but there you go. I have hopes that these apparent options in body shape we have can allow for tinier people to have tinier characters. Maybe I'm totally shallow, but that was the main reason I initially chose to play as an elf my first go around with DA:O.
Awwright. My BioWare forum boob contemplation for the evening? Check. I feel all warm and tingly with success on the inside.

I think you have been the most honest female gamer so far. While the rest have been moaning all over sexism and exploitation, you finally come out and say the truth (and I suspected this reason anyway but was too afraid to say it under fear of being eaten alive by angry female gamers)

DAO chest proportions with a nudity mod look normal to me (no comment on males down below though.).

Right because you magically know every single female gamer's breast size.
