Exactly, hellooooo.... we are saying that we want to see women who look like they could actually run, jump and fight. Because much as I might wish I were a Navy SEAL, I actually sit in a cubicle all day.
So yes, sure sure, video games allow me to be someone I'm not. I just never, ever, ever, fantasize about being so top-heavy I could hardly walk.
Indeed. A woman can look
1: Normally proportioned
2: Muscular
3: And attractive
Gina Carano, MMA -
Many developers only go for attractive, and then a very fantasized version of it.

All fan service is bad and should be eliminated for the purity of the medium
You mean you were genuinely offended that Bioware would think you'd enjoy seeing zoomed in shots of Miranda's shapely ass while she was talking about her reprehensible father and kidnapped sister?
That point of view doesn't make sense to me. Not at all. Not one bit. It's completely and utterly indefensible. No sane person would have that reaction. I can't understand how anyone could possible feel patronized by shots like that.
I think they were being sarcastic.

Just to be clear, which person in your quote bubble do you think is being sarcastic?

Bioware poking fun at nerds through heavy use of fan service at inappropriate moments.

Sorry, that was more spontaneous than it should have been. I'm not in a position to generalize at all as I've only read this page, but these sorts of threads just make me cringe.
I don't blame you. Neither side is making headway with the other. This is going nowhere and now it's going into the stages of degradation. Goody.
A true shame, in my opinion. To think that gender issues cross into games.
Yes, you know the 'argument' has run its course when the responses are similar to "NAH-NAH-NA-NAH-NAH!" and direct verbal lashings to people you don't know.

Joke or not. I was definitely being sarcastic. I'd be fine with shots like that when contextually appropriate (such as when Shepard literally talks about admiring Miranda's body) otherwise it's just patronizing.

BTW I think the female body is gorgeous. I prefer looking at portraits of women, in fact. It was just nice that DAO was a game where you could play a female PC with a straight face.
Whatever. A toolset will solve everything.

Yeah...and that scene happens when she's talking about her sister for pete's sake.
I didn't mind the long look up and down when Shep talks about her body because heck its relevant. What does her ass have to do with her sister's situation?
And why did the investigate option have to be on it? I was so busy laughing I couldn't take her seriously anymore.

I freely admit, just so Macho Tango doesn't have to secretly speculate, that I would kill for that woman's body.
