I'm gonna throw out a vague and potentially misleading stereotype, but almost every time I mention going to the gym to a woman (not in the form or context of "You need to work out" that would be extremely bad for my health) they tend to always assume that they will turn into "manly freaks."

I almost want to pull out a picture of Morbo and yell, "WEIGHT TRAINING DOESNT WORK THAT WAY"

You can't become some muscle bound giant accidentally.

Though my gym teacher was always lecturing for us  to focus on tone. So...who said that? Someone whose never been to a gym?

And no you really can't. You have to work like crazy for those types of muscles.

No, but boobs are not a democracy.

They are a dictatorship?

Noooo! They're gonna take over the world!

Oh wait...they have already haven't they? :?

You'd be surprised how often I wish I could laugh about it. But that's my resident sob story for the night.

That's just misinformation.  Women who've had any amount of education in fitness know better.  In fact I'm surprised you still hear that.

No, but boobs are not a democracy.

With a toolset they are.

But the dossiers were a nice touch

Of course since hte whole thing was pretty much fanservice it does negate its effectiveness a bit...

I asked that earlier, but didn't get much of a response. I mean, it's one thing to defend BioWare's choice, to not care, or to not mind the decision, but I wonder what reasons men have for wanting that model on females? I don't mean that in a patronizing way, but I am curious. It all seems to boil down to fan service, really.

The thing is, fan service isn't dependent on uber idealized models like Isabela's and Bethany's. Morrigan was fanservice, too.

I've said it time and again, there's a compromise to be had. Men, you can have your fan service and eye candy and women (and men) can have a more average figure for their female avatars.

It depends where I am, really.  But it's pretty damn consistent, and my trainer hears it all the time.

There was a vote.  Bigger was defeated by smaller in a close race.  Since then, boobs haven't been a democracy.

Okay that joke was just dumb.

My mistake, I'm tired. I saw LOTSB and thought of LOTR.

Time for me to go to bed.

There was this scientific study I read that women with fuller breasts and big hips appear attractive to men because its a sign of fertility. Something about all animals built-in instinct to find a suitable partner to procreate and spread their genes. Or something.

Or it could dudes who weren't breastfed enough instinctively want bigger bewbs? /Freudiantangent

This is actually true.  But, ultimately, all human beings find curves attractive.  It has to do with the golden mean.

Sure--just as muscular men look like they can club your dinner to death with an donkey's jawbone and that's the root of why some women find ripped men attractive. I knew that. But drastic muscularity or dastically top-heavy women is more indicative of health problems, and that it is an ideal for some is a sign it's been taken to its extreme. Being curvaceous is possible without being disproportinate. I myself find leaner muscular figures more attractive on guys than Kratos.

Big hips are indicative of ability to bear children

Large breasts are indicative of higher body fat which suggests good overall health (same goes with hair, thick thighs, and stuff like that)

There are lots of theories.  Maybe it's because there is a collective unconscious archetype of hot women with big boobs that all men want or something.  /vaguelyJungianbutIbarelyrememberpsychologyclass

On the physical level, I don't believe there's anything wrong with breast size and curvature, as well as hips, etc.

But, my personal opinion is that there's more to the physical level. In games, I'm a little apathetic to the soul and spirit level.

The golden ratio refers to proportionality.  What we repressed female gamers are complaining about is lack thereof.

Edit:  A woman with Bethany-sized breasts would most likely be really obese if she were proportional, or else physically limited- back problems, sagging, etc.  Do you want to see either of those things?  Nah, me neither.

I know it has to do with proportions, yes.  Also, I do not believe you are repressed.  I know nothing about you.

I suspect that you are talking about the improper proportion of a female body in regards to giant breasts and tiny waists?

With a bust that large Bethany would definitely have some back problems.

A lack of proportion you say? Isabella looks fine to me.
Bethany isn't proportioned but she's a mage so maybe she has magical waist slimming powers.
And femhawke is coved in armor and you can't really see her.

I don't really see the proportion issues tbh.

I only wish they made the female warrior look... bigger... not exactly more toned like Aveline (she has man arms)
