FemShep could have been a little more athletic, but basically this.  Granted, I never figured it felt like "waifu" until she went hand-to-hand with the Shadow Broker.

Even then, she's a cyborg in ME2 so I imagine muscle and bone density really don't matter anymore.

So, I'll stick with a more unqualified "this."

...FemShep is your waifu, is that what you're saying? :P The armor sort of balances Shepard out for me (making it less obvious she has twig arms), but I do always wish she had a bit more tone.

We have yet to see a clear shot of FemHawke, but I think I should reititerate that she is almost certain to have the same model as Bethany, Isabela, and her mother. The fact that all of Thedas' females, except probably a few with Lloyd proportions, will look like this is what's annoying.

A quick Google search reveals I used the wrong term.  I should stick to terminology I'm used to.  /shakes head

It will be interesting to see what characters clearly not being described by Varric look like, though.

I thought it meant someone like Summer Glau as River Tam - the whole "90 lb girl who can destroy armies of trained, fit men with her bare hands" thing.  Apparently it's just an annoying way of saying "wife" per Urban Dictionary.

Wow. What kind of person would degenerate "wife" into "waifu", I wonder?

I think femshep and Aveline will have the same body model, or similar at least. And Aveline has some pipes.

Fun video. Thanks, both of you.

It's literally impossible to learn English under current conditions.

See, if it only occured int he beginning of the game, during the exaggeration bits, that's totally plausible. You probably only have one set of static armor on you, so there's no issue with that.

But if it occurs all throughout the game (which I assume because the good shots we have of character models are all post-exaggeration) until Varric stops narrating, that means they have to make two models for every female armor, since you (most likely) can have a ton of armor in your inventory. Maybe the end of the game puts you in static armor, who knows?

I'm just not sure what Mike Laidlaw (someday, someday, I will have the chance to say Mike Laid down the law) meant.

I'm next to positive that they will not. Aveline's arms were modeled after a man, and there will be a lot of people upset at how "manly" their FemHawke looks--male or female.

(edited because I think I sounded b1tchy and bitter unintentionally)

I don't think it's implausible.  Like I said earlier there's no reason to expect Varric stops exaggerating entirely about everything at any time.  He just sticks close enough to reality to satisfy Cassandra's desire for the truth of events, not the Champion's sister's cup size.

Unreliable narrators can do whatever they want.

Edit: The only case where it would be implausible is if the big boobs continue into whatever the game's present tense is.  As in, Varric is either in a scene where he's telling the story with female characters, or his narration of events reaches the "present" day.  As long as he's narrating the story, whatever picture he paints is completely open to interpretation.

Oh, I don't think it can't be done or that they wouldn't (we brought up that this may be the case months ago and had a good laugh over it), I'm just unsure because of the issues with armor models.

In my opinion, the best female model in a BioWare so far is Female Shepard's.

I think femhawke is better, especially her physique. Femshep still has twig arms.

I agree Fem!Hawke is BioWare's best to date.  Can't wait to see her on my PC with the graphics cranked high.  Including other games outside of BioWare Madison Paige (Heavy Rain) wins my vote as best female model.  The fact she was based on a real person developed with motion capture gives her a huge advantage. :)

There's a leaked video of warrior FemHawke from the Lucca Games convention out there.

Jade Empire had the best female body. Sadly, there was only one for the PC while there was three for the male PC.

but think some of that is due to age of the game and some comes from the particular style they picked.

Adding random two cents: More body musculature for Lady Hawke (as compared to Dragon age female models)

Sure it's been said somewhere around these 22 pages, but I'm lazy and I'm already making a case for FemShep in ME3

The one thing I absolutely hated about DA:O were the absolutely doll-like appearances of the females. Putting on armor was the only way to make female warriors any bit believable. Watching her swing a 2-handed sword was hilarious.

We need more of this: http://i557.photobuc...GinaCarano2.jpg

Either give better models in general, or give Lady Hawke as warrior class an exclusive, fitting model now that body type sliders appear to be out of development.

Thoughts?

it looks MUCH better than the first picture. She seems healthier, still very attractive
and certainly more believable. I wish BW took your route instead of following
what other games are doing to the female characters’ models.

YOu know the saddest thing about that retouch? That people think "bigger breasts' means 'unhealthy in this thread. Not only are there plenty of women with F cups, but it's a FRIGGING FANTASY VIDEO GAME PEOPLE.

Not that i'm defending anything but its ridiculous how some pro-feminist individuals b!tch and moan about the ladies having a larger than average bust but it is a-o-k for the males to have 20 inch biceps, as broad as arnold schwarzenegger and as shredded as most top bodybuilders in the world in an era where nutrition isn't at the level to build muscle, lacking any equipment for such resistance training that would get you to that stage and steroids to get you to that massive size.

But hey, you're right, its a friggin fantasy game and some of these stuck up individuals don't get that and would argue to the death that "its wrong!!, its unhealthy!! you treat women like objects!!".  Double standards.

Not gonna explain for the 100th time that 20-inch biceps would actually help a warrior-type PC do what they're supposed to do in a game, but a Double J bust hinders. Ok, I guess I just explained it, for the 101th time.

I approve of Gina Carano-inspired female models.  Gina is pleased, but slightly embarassed at all the attention paid to her in this thread:

It is a double standard, but it exists for a reason.  Here's the reason:

Upsettingshorts wrote...

She has a point.  And you don't need to be a woman to see it.

The masculine ideal of beauty is utilitarian. Form and function in harmony so to speak.

The feminine ideal of beauty is entirely sexual. Form and function are more distinctly separated.

A rather clumsy analogy would be to point to the culture around dog breeding and judging. The standards by which purebreds are evaluated at events like the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show have everything to do with fitting into certain aesthetic expectations and have nothing at all to do with how well their body works, or how healthy their shape is. That isn't to equate women and purebred dogs, but to draw a comparison between the issue of the conflict between body image and health and how women must feel sometimes about cultural standards of beauty.

Okay, so beauty pagents are kind of similar to dog shows but that's not the point.

"Double standard" does not necessarily mean "arbitrary nonsensical distinction."

You DO know that 20 inch biceps is relatively useless in a fight due to how large it actually is thus restricting your movement and agility? Why is it that the vast majority of MMA fighters, or muay thai boxers try to stay lean and not too muscular like the worlds top bodybuilders?

Hell search up greg kovacs, the guy was so large and muscular he couldn't even wipe his ass, what makes you think his biceps will aid him in a fight?

I'd guess that's at least in part due to weight limitations and categories they use in organized sports.

(and now ask yourself why do they have weight categories in these sports)
