You also support DA2 being much shorter than DAO ?
Where has it been stated that it will be "much" shorter? From what I heard it was going to be between the length of Awakenings and Origins. So between 20-50 hours of gameplay for a playthrough. 30-40 hours is pretty long for a modern game.

I could've lived without Orzammar or the Fade.
I didn't mind Orzammar too much, but the Fade was just absolutely grueling! I will support changes made to Dragon Age 2 even more if there isn't a Fade scenario, or if as long as it isn't as tedious as the first one.

They said it'll be ME2's lenght, making it half the size of Origins, which is my book is much shorter.tdawg7669 wrote...

I never said the game is short, just shorter than OriginsSo between 20-50 hours of gameplay for a playthrough. 30-40 hours is pretty long for a modern game.

I support a voiced protagonist, but hate paraphrasing.
I support the faster combat, but hate the static armor for party members (10 years they'll wear the exact same thing)
I support it being more cinematic, but hate that it's much shorter now.
Also I'm really dissapointed we don't see the destruction of Lothering or Gwaren

Lothering I could care less about, but Gwaren is a pretty big miss, yeah.DarthCaine wrote...

1. I will turn this music off when I hear it; I do not like this music.
2. I will not turn this music off, but I wouldn't turn it on, either; I do not object to this music.
3. I would and do turn this music on; I own this music and greatly enjoy it.
To make it into category three, the band/song in question typically has to have pretty great lyrics. I'm a pretentious lyrics/poetry guy, so that's pretty big for me. If it's just catchy, it might make it into category two, but that's typically saved for shallow yet nostalgic music.
This relates to "RPGs" and "BioWare games" in the following sense. Just as with lyrics, to make it into the highest category of whatever rubric I have for gaming, the game needs to have a good story. The gameplay takes a second seat. I might like a game just for the gameplay, but just like I might like a song because it "sounds catchy," there's just no substance otherwise. I am fairly confident that DA2 will have a good story, so I don't let the small things ruin it for me.
This post made sense; I'm sure of it!

I support a voiced protagonist, but would appreciate if in addition to the paraphrase we could right click on the option to see the full text on the PC (oh well, quick save here I come! I can live with that really, I often do it anyway to experiment with multiple dialogue options)
I support faster combat and closing moves, assuming it isn't over the top and closing moves cannot be abused (e.g. 5 closing moves in 10 seconds), and it looks fine so far so I'm optimistic here.
And I definitely support the new skill tree system, which looks positively awesome.
I would support custom armors for companions and believe it can be a real improvement *but* from the looks of it there won't be much if any variety per companion, and given that constraint I do not support it (although I'd probably find it a fair trade-off even without a lot of variety - ideally I'd want a variety of custom outfits that remain balanced with interesting trade-offs and are unlocked through the story, but that's really asking for too much unless I send them a million dollars donation).

OK, so long time troller first time poster here. Anyway, there have been a lot of people complaining about the changes made from DA:O to DA2. Well all I can say is, ever since the original announcement of Dragon Age 2, I have been 100% behind the decisions made. I support wholeheartedly a voiced protagonist! I support characters having static, yet upgradeable armors. I support what some may call "Hack n Slash" gameplay! I support Hawke, I support Dragon Age 2, and most importantly I support BioWare! They have yet to make a bad game in my opinion, and I highly doubt they're going to start with DA2!
So people who agree with me, let your voices be heard! Don't let the nay-sayers keep you down! Rise up and show your love to a great game made by the greatest game company of all time!

Its not like they're trying to make a bad game. But BioWare isn't magic. **** happens- they're as liable to make a crap game as anyone else.

I had the strategy guide open in my lap the entire time while in the Fade for my first playthrough. It was embarrassing.
I agree, Brockololly. BioWare is gonna fail (I don't know about their other games besides ME and DA so I can't say if they haven't already) at some point. I hope they don't screw this up, though.

P.S. How do you know that DA2 will be shorter? Did a developer say that or is that just a guess.

It said to be shorter than Origins, longer than Awakening. Though that shouldn't be surprising since it hasn't been made for half a decade.

And yet the game is supposed to take place over a decade....
They've said it will be ME2 in length, and going by BioWare's own statistics they released on ME2 a while back the avreage time to completion of ME2 was only 33 hours.

Art style - mostly like
Animations - look pretty good, from the little I've seen
Environments, architecture - I like
Character models - I really like
Inventory - looks good.
fixed outfits - depends, if we can alter and upgrade them significantly or not.
Really, what I'm most curious about now is how skill trees and talents will work.

Overall, I have a relatively positive impression of the game so far.
I would like to call out alot of the posters on this thread for being lame trolls.
And that's all I have to say.

Wait...they're going to cover 10 years in 33 hours?
