For some reason knocking on doors really creeps me out, I have bad dreams where I am stood in front of a door that is almost broken by forceful repeated blows upon it. God knows what this means.

Alistair. :(

I am terrified of people touching me, coming into my room, talking to strangers, and meeting new people. I have a phobia of change, also. :?

Ineffectualness.

Poverty.

Indifference.

Memory loss or the loss of self.

Those are the four biggies.

I also have a minor fear of heights.

I think I will never see a scary movie again (maybe one or two). but I like dreaming, most of my dreams are mediocre but a few are great.

heh! I love to get scared in films. I recall watching Aracnaphopia, looking down and seeing my feet being off the floor in a gotcha moment!

Death, everyone dies, but nobody knows what happens next. The thought that there is nothing, and that I will just be worm food makes everything feel pointless, and that scares the sh*t out of me.

On the other hand, it's a far more comforting thought than the idea of some neglectful yet moralising father-figure deciding whether you get to join the V.I.P club or not.
Gotta say I fear old age more than death. Not that I'm doing anything with my youth.

^ Such eloquent posters scare me, as they become more publically vocal about their hatred of those with faith, while continuing to try and restrict our rights to worship and speak our thoughts. For example, see ^ previous post.....

I don't think much bothers me personally. I don't like heights - make me stand on a stool and I get very uncomfortable, but I love flying - because a fall off a stool will hurt where a fall from a couple of thousand feet, you're not going to feel much of anything when you hit the dirt. Bugs, beetles, spiders and roaches don't bother me at all (though I'll admit maggots just turn my stomach... not so much fear but digust). I know there's nothing spooky or evil in the dark because I don't believe in any of that crap. As for death, ah, I die - I die. Not much I can do about it either way if there's nothing after it (which I'll only feel a fool about if there is something after death after all).

What does scare me though is the thought of something happening to my kids. Anything can happen to me as long as they're ok. The thought of my little boy getting seriously ill, or being hurt, or just having to live in times filled with poverty, fear and war... to always know a world filled with greed and upheaval and lies? Now that scares the sh*t out of me.

Excuse me? Did I really "restrict" or "hate" on anything?
I addressed a point I felt was relevant in relation to the post I quoted, with a rather light-hearted tone I thought, and suddenly I'm being an oppressive hatemonger? Sheesh.
Just because I have specific issues with the idea of theism, which were nothing but peripherally alluded to in that post, doesn't mean I object to every person of religion.

Don't play the martyr card, dude. It's not becoming.

I live in fear of the world.

But mostly I fear tornados. I convinced myself when I was 7 years old that I would be doomed to die in one. I should stop chasing them then.

By the way, real life sociopolitical issues get threads locked because, you know, people get offended. On both sides. If you're going to offend someone on a gaming site, at least make it gaming related like lambasting their use of console vs. PC. (But don't do that either.)

I don't like a lot of things, but I can't say I'm scared of anything. I seem to be indifferent, maybe it was caused by my skull fracture to the back of my head as a child, fear doesn't register.
