Animal Companion stat problem

I'm running NWN 1.69 w/ the Improved Henchmen mod 1.08 (default install).

When choosing my animal companion for my level 6 ranger they had varying strengths, dex, etc. Yet they all had the same AC. In addition they all had -1 reflex, will, etc, Yet the NWN wiki clearly shows this is incorrect, as does examining my animal companion after summoning it.

However, having been in a few fights and travelled a few locations, I now found my animal companion has stats of 8 across the board and has -1 in everything. I check the effects on them but there are no ill effects.

Is this a known bug? Is there a way to avoid it?

EDIT: Reloading (or in this case quitting and reloading as I came out to write this) seems to fix it, but I'm unsure whether this is a display issue or whether my creature really is being cursed by those crummy stats until I spot it and reload to fix.

None to my knowledge. I just learned to live with it all these years. It doesn't affect the game play though...

IIRC this is a display problem(?). Close the companion character sheet, open your own, then reopen the companion character sheet and see if it is back to normal.

Good Luck :)

Just adding to the chorus, this appears to be a display bug and not an actual change in stats. The same thing can happen with henchies and I've noticed that (for instance) their character sheet AC will have a different (lower) value than the inventory sheet (which typically won't show the change for DEX, etc.).

Often, it isn't even necessary to reload the game and the character sheet will fix itself. Though, when I actually need to see the stats, maybe a quick swap-and-swap-back of equipment (which you can do even with a familiar with the AI HAK, not sure about animal companions) can sort the issue, too.

Exactly, just find a way to change some stats, or abilities numbers by removing a belt, a ring, whatever you have handy. Or reload as the nicest british couch was suggesting. Actually, there is a door check in NWN, so maybe going through another map might be enough to fix it.
Again it doesn't matter on a gaming point of view. I never realised it regarding the animal companion... as I barely ever played a ranger, but that the same old story I suppose.
