Forgive me if this has come up already.

It took me awhile because they didn't use Simon Templeton as the voice actor, but I realized today that Cassandra is a bad guy. I think they made her female because they thought it would slip under our radar and because evil women are hawt.

What horrible thing do you think she's going to try to do in the game? Will she be like Loghain, in that we get her as a companion if we boot one of the good ones?



From the top to the bottom.

Widow's peak – an unusual attribute in women and one that makes a strong V image
Vulcan eyebrows – Another V shape, this time upside down. This takes softness from the eyes and makes them less round looking.
Darkness around the eyes – This makes them look deep set. Maleficent only has them on top, but Cassandra has top and bottom.
Striking lips – To emphasize femininity as the face is more masculine than usual.
Sharp Features – Both faces are slim with strong cheekbones and a small chin, creating another V shape.
Coloring – The coloring for the face is has strong contrast with the outfit. Both are swathed in black, including their neck, leaving a pale face that seemed to 'hover' in the surrounding darkness. The lips and eyes are off-color and *strikingly* so.

Why do I think she's evil? Because she's been given the features of a villainess. Strong Vs, high contrast, striking features.

Too early to assume things. She is with the chantry, so if the game allows Hawke to side with the chantry in this coming war, that makes her an ally. Now if the game allows Hawke to side with the apostates, then yeah i can see her as a villain, but again this is just assuming how the game plays out.

You could ally with Loghain in the end. He still allowed the elves to be enslaved, house Cousland to be destroyed, murdered his king and the son of his (once) best friend and the woman he loved, and let the darkspawn rampage through Thedas.

Ally != Good person

But Cassandra isn't "hawt".

she seems to come from some royal family, so she may be under alot of pressure from her family.

Seems obvious that she'll kill varric, might be a chance to save him depending on your actions.

i wouldnt call him a evil person either, he let his bitterness get the better of him.

Or if they stay in the grey area, she might be an opponent or ally of Hawke, depending on your alliances and decisions.

You have seen few very brief scenes of her, and only a few screenshots, vague hints of her role in the storyline, so you are already outlining a sexual orientation and an evil personality.

Why is this obvious? I'm not sure what she'd gain by it.

I thought Cassandra would be "evil" judging by her character design, but she doesn't seem evil or even really all that mean in the trailer.

From what little of Cass I've seen she seems to be rather keen on preventing a large war.

She is a Templar and all Templars are evil. They kinda remind me all our real world groups who tried to exploit power through religion, kinda like the Knights of Templar. Instead, they became a military power.

Yup, exploiting power through religion and preying on the weak that rely on it. Hunting apostates down just because they don't follow "their" way of magic where they can monitor it.

All might be extreme but the majority exploit weak spots on people through religion to gain power as a military state. I'm sure they have some Templars who think they're doing it for the better good.

I do not get this thread at all.
No one has any proof to add to their outlandish claims.

Don't think shes come to visit our spymaster on friendly terms, but I might be wrong could be dependant on the herald angel sings actions. Just get a Loghain vibe off her like in the gameplay trailer we saw a year before origins.
