I know it would be harder because it's not really a "melee" weapon, but what would be a cool way to do it? Perhaps it just adds to your spellpower or increases the damage of your frost spells...Fireball spells...etc.

I LOVED playing a Mage in Dragon Age. The only thing that I "kinda" wished for was that Mage staves had rune slots. My entire party was walking around with juiced up runed weapons and mine was...well kinda plain. Now i'm not saying that my character was 'gimped" in any way because a lot of times I would have my entire party hang back while I went forward and wiped out an entire room of darkspawn. But, it would've been nice to have been able to amp up a cool mages staff with some awesome fire or frost runes that added a little bit more firepower.
