How dare a business offer a small incentive to new paying costumers. OOOH, oh no! PS3 owners might get some guns or a helmet that I wants oh so very bad! Bioware is a bunch of jerks! Gimme that comic book!!! I don't care that I have a full game that they'll never have! I'm never going to buy another ME product again. I'm telling my mom because this isn't fair!

not sure if serious? cause last time i ****ing checked i paid 69.99 for mass effect 1, 69.99 for mass effect 2 and 30.00 for 3 dlc's.

so for 69.99 they get all the dlc's, armour i had to buy another game to get, a comic ill have to pay 10 bucks for.

the fact anyone thinks this is fair makes me lose faith in humanity

We've talked briefly about the Interactive Comic.  BioWare Edmonton (the group that made Mass Effect 2) teamed up with the fine folks at Dark Horse Comics to create an interactive backstory.  While I can't release all the details about this yet, what I can tell you is that we want to create a stunning visual experience that not only tells the core story elements of  Mass Effect 1, but also is fully interactive allowing you to be faced with some of the major choices which will have consequences your Mass Effect universe.  This interactive comic's initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners who would be otherwise unable to realize the full effect of choice in the Mass Effect universe and will be included on the Cerberus Network.

Dude, I pre-ordered and bought at release the PC collector's edition of your game.  I've bought all your DLC.  I buy, without exception, every game BioWare makes, and I have for several years now.  I consider myself to be a loyal BioWare customer, so I have to tell you this platform exclusive interactive comic is really some bull crap.  If it is a "stunning visual experiece," I want it, and I'm not really interested in wating for 6 months after it is released for some other group of game players on some other platform.

We had to endure that crap with the X Box exclusives for Jade Empire and Mass Effect.  It was bad enough that we had to wait for the PC versions of the game, but what made it worse was that Chris Priestly spent those intervening months insisting that these titles were planned to remain X Box exclusives, and no PC versions were in development... or even considered.  After those stunts, our ability to be amused by your "platform exclusives" is non-existent.

Loyalty is a two-way street.  I'm still annoyed about the whole X Box exclusive thing, and having Priestly lie his butt off to all of us on the forums for months about it.  Platform exclusives are a sore spot, and I don't think you guys really want to pick at it.

thats how i feel, i was looking at purchasing the me2 soundtracks and such. after reading this bull**** me1 and me2 are already downloaded and the combat and other one are currently downloading. the day i give more money

What if when the PS3 version comes out, someone buys the 360 version? Will that person also get free DLC? Or will there be a GOTY addition by then?

So the moral of the story is don't buy Bioware games when they first come out?

Not just BioWare games. All games eventually drop in price. (Unless that game's called Call of Duty...MW2 still hasn't dropped a penny...)

The sense of uniformed entitlement on these boards is disgusting. Who's to say they don't have a GOTY edition in the works for PC and 360?

You are always better off waiting for months to buy new titles.  Wait until their $30 or $20, and packaged with DLC... and have a couple of patches to fix the launch bugs.  That's the smart thing to do.

None of us do that.  We're the people that post on game company forums... we pre-order, and buy on or around release dates.  Some of us might even stand in line at midnight.

We're also the biggest profit center for the game developers.

You bet your ass if those two games were ported to the 360 that they would get "incentives" to get people to buy them.

Why in the hell are people acting like EA/Bioware are the first game companies to do this? Betheseda has been doing this for ages, and so have others.

Awesome - since my 36o pooped out on me you know I'll be purchasing a copy of ME2 for PS3. Didn't get to finish the Shadow Broker DLC :( but Kasumi & Overlord were great.

"to bad the 36o can't handle those games" I thought would be the common reply to MGS4 & UC2 going multiplat.

To that I would say: Bull****.  Final Fantasy XIII came to the 360, there should be nothing on the technical side of things holding MGS4 and UC2 back.

Oddly, your problem reminds me of a parable Jesus told.  Allow me to paraphrase.

<snip>

Wow even Jesus has a view on all this :P  I believe you missed out the updated version available in the new testament that went something like this :-

Jesus rambled on ............

The wealthy land owner went to the Marketplace the next day to offer people work.  The assembled workers told him to "go forth and multiply" then resumed their business.  The Wealthy land owner was miffed and started blaming the benefits system.

Around the middle of the day the wealthy land owner returned to the marketplace and again was told to go and do something obscene with a donkey.  This time it was the work of pirates he was sure of it.  By the evening when he returned to hire some men, he did eventually find a few lazy sods to do the work but by this time his crops had wilted and he was bankrupt.

As the wealthy land owner sat at the bar drinking his troubles away his neighbour came in rolling in cash and happy as can be.  The wealthy land owner asked him "how come you are so successful" and the neighbour replyed "well you see I didn't act like a dick and rip my workers off.  I tried to be fair and even handed to all of them and I was rewarded for that".  The "not so" wealthy landowner rejected this explanation and decided it was his workers fault, the benefits systems fault in fact it was everyone's fault except his own

Wow those bible fables are powerful :P  but seriously I don't really have a problem with PS3 users getting the content free.   However I did find it funny someone would invoke a fable from Jesus to support their argument.

Umm... FF13 on the 360 is a 'far' inferior game compared to the PS3 version. Compressed this, all these discs here, and basically an overall unpleasent experience. With the sales they got from the 360 I wonder why Square even bothered.

The 360 version actually got an overall better score on Metacritic than the PS3 version.

Whether or not the graphics had to be trimmed down a bit is beside the point. The point is that it was possible to port FFXIII to the 360, so it should certainly be possible for MGS4 and UC2 to be ported, if the developers were to try. We know they won't, though.

First of all I'd just like to say the hard truth, it's Bioware's game, it's their hard work and their ideas, they can do whatever they want with it.

I can understand why people are disappointed at the idea of missing out on content but frankly I find that the way some people are insulting them for this is disgusting.

Look at it this way;it's not the same game, it's coming out two years later and with some minor stuff free to make up for the delay. Imagine their saying to the PS3 owners "sorry we didn't get this to you sooner, hope this makes up for it". It's a sort of apology to make PS3 owners more likely to buy a old game

Do you honestly think it's a good idea for Bioware, both as a company and as individuals, to sell an old game it for over $100 (or for me $NZ170)?

Is it honestly that painful for you to see other people get a good deal?

If it is I doubt you ever had any faith in humanity...

Giving PS3 owners the already FREE content is one thing, but giving them what Xbox 360 owners have had to pay for is bull. If this is what you are planning to do, then You should give all 360 owners Kasumi and Shadow broker free. I am happy Ps3 owners get to play ME2, but to give them for free what we had to pay for as 360 owners just seems a scummy move on EA/Biowares head.

Guys, re-read the first post, as Jesse made an edit.

There is no truly exclusive PS3 DLC. Its all repackaged content we were able to get on PC and Xbox 360.

There is no exclusive DLC.

True. But the difference is this. They are giving away paid DLC to PS3 owners that the rest of us could chose to buy. I was waiting to buy Kasumi and Shadow broker when they went down in price, I just don't even care to buy them then at this point.

I already have a Cerberus Network code with all of the paid DLC for the PC Version... will we be able to just use our old CN codes on the ps3, and have access to what we already bought?

This interactive comic's initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners

Awesome, this gives me a feeling it will only be timed exclusivity

There will also be some DLC Bundles, such as the Aegis Pack as well as exclusive both Free and Paid DLC for all PlayStation 3 owners such as the Recon Operations Pack.

I couldn't care less if PS3 gets a couple pieces of exclusive armour. All of my worries of the PS3 ME2 release have been put to rest (for now......). Thanks Jesse.

I felt the same about the comic thing. That would be cool, I'm curious about it now. As for exclusive armor and weapons...I really hope that doesn't happen. If its like the Incisor Sniper Rifle, where you can pay for it later on, thats fine I guess.<_<
