There's absolutely no reason for DLC on a Blu-Ray. If they can fit all of the DLC content on a disc for Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, they can fit it on for the release of Mass Effect 2. This is a total bilking of customers on Bioware's part.
Again, you will receive the same amount of free stuff as everybody else. You are not special. Would you rather pay more money for the game since the content that others had to download wasn't free? Or do you not understand the concept of DLC?
Oh I understand it, I just don't agree or accept it. I don't buy DLC, period. And the offset cost argument is ridiculous. They could easily fit this on the disc and still charge the same price. It is simply a cash grab.

Are new PS3 users entitled to getting it for free? No.
I think a lot of dlc packages are cash grabs too... like 15 bucks a map pack for MW2?

What the hell are you talking about?
You're getting all non-Cerberus Network DLC on the disc, and you're also getting an access key to the Cerberus Network itself from which you may freely download any of the DLCs available in that library.
If you're actually arguing that DLCs should not be made or they should be given away for free, then please, discuss it somewhere outside this particular thread.

Considering we're getting a fking comic book instead of the first game, it's the least they could do.

Started to rage. Then I just remind myself EA's in charge and you can't expect anything better than this kind of garbage from Bioware anymore.
EA killed Bioware, skinned it, and now wears its skin sometimes to fool us into thinking they'll make games that are a good value and treat their customers fairly.

No. Did 360 users get any previous Metal Gear games? You are owed nothing. Besides, it's not Bioware stopping you from getting the first game, it's Microsoft. Enjoy the comic.Lard wrote...

1) A comic book is not going to make up for PS3 owners not getting the first game.
2) "Also included is, as on Xbox 360 and PC, an access code to the Cerberus Network. This will give you instant access to the same great lineup of Downloadable Content such as Zaeed and Firewalker. "
If it's not on the disc, I'm not buying the game. I understand that 360 discs are smaller and hold less content, but putting *part* of the game on Blu-Ray and charging us for DLC as well is flat out gouging.
I think you are a bit confused with what is happening with regards to the PS3 content, the Blu-ray disc will contain the following DLC :-
Kasumi
Overlord
Lair Of The Shadow Broker
The Cerberus Network will be used to distribute :-
Introductory Comic (not sure if this is being released as part of the Cerberus Network but it looks like it).
Firewalker
Zaeed
Normandy
ALL the DLC released so far is being given to PS3 owners for nothing (that is one of the things causing such a rift). The DLC being released via the Cerberus network will be FREE.
Now you may ask "well why release some content via the Cerberus network when there is obviously space on the Blu-ray disc ?" The answer is that this is EA's way of combating second hand sales, the cerberus code is a one time use only code it cannot be reused if you sell the game. So if someone buys your copy of the game then they have to buy a new Cerberus code to get access to the content.
Naturally the next DLC that gets released after Lair of The Shadow Broker will have to be bought by PC, PS3 and 360 users if they want it. However up till that point PS3 users are getting ALL DLC for free but it is being distributed with half on the disc and half available for download.

Well it's a nice gesture, but not good enough.
I don't like DLC, period. Even if it's free. The *only* way I am willing to buy the game is if *all* the content is on the disc.
I hope Bioware is listening, because what they're doing is a pretty big dick move.

Especially since 2 of the maps in the pack are remakes of maps from previous games. <_<

They're not geting it free. They're paying $60 for it.
Wanna buy it for 360 now? $20. $25 more for the DLC.
Cheaper.
Guess what? There will eventually be a 360 GOTY edition. That'll be cheaper, too.
And THEY won't be ripping you off, either.
$85 is the price you pay for being an early adopter.Suck it up.

Make an exception.
If we're getting free DLC because the publisher wants to crack down on used game sales, that's good... for everyone that actually supports their games by buying them new, that is.
If you refuse to buy it out of principle, that's fine. But you're not really doing any favours for yourself.

No, it isn't. It's called a consumer's choice not to be swindled, gouged or bilked. Because that's what happens when you buy DLC.

There is nothing to suggest that they won't pull this move with the fabled GOTY edition. The reason they are making PS3 owners download some of the content is to combat used game sales. If there is a GOTY edition I would bet all the PAID DLC will be available on disk but the Cerberus Network DLC will remain download only because they are using it to combat used game sales.

So you don't want DLC even if you get it for free, just because of principles? Rubbish.

No, that's why it's called "principles". If you had some, you might recognise they are worth sticking to.

Exactly right. Borderlands GOTY edition did exactly the same thing. It defeats the entire purpose of having a GOTY edition. It would be nice if companies started *listening* to their customers instead of trying to force them into buying something they don't want.

Come on man, it's not like you will make any difference in the grand scheme of things. You get it for free, nothing to complain about.
