Prove it, Mr Facts.

There are examples of Namco and Capcom putting game modes or items on the discs and then charging for them to be unlocked.(Tales and Resident Evil)

Map packs for first person shooters could easily be included with games, but are held back to make more money.

Costumes/skins/unlockable characters for games like Uncharted, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Folklore, and even the upcoming Dragon Age 2 as someone pointed out.

Horse armour.

There are repeated consistent examples of content being removed from games to make an extra buck, and I will not support it. Not with one cent of my own money.

DLC is bad for consumers and bad for the gaming industry, and if you can't see that, you're utterly blind.

So you believe that ALL DLC is content that would've been in the game at release were it not for the DLC system being in place? So if there was no DLC system, Witch Hunt for DA would have been in there from the start? I wouldn't have had to wait over half a year to get a conclusion to Morrigan's storyline had the DLC system not been there? Bioware was just holding Witch Hunt back for several months because it was already made before DA was launched?

I can understand believing DLCs that get released just a month or two after the game has been released had been finished or mostly finished before it was released, but several months out? You really think that Bioware decided to sit on content like Wich Hunt for over half a year before releasing it for us to buy and then play and enjoy?

As soon as you and your ilk drop the sense of entitlement/poorly disguised fanboyism.

Are you naturally slow or do you practice in front of a mirror? You either haven't read or don't understand my posts. I clearly suffer no sense of entitlement or fanboyism. I've pointing out that NOBODY should get something that others don't. The issue of the comic is a non issue for me. I don't care if I get it or not and other 360/PC users shouldn't either. Nice try but you failed.

All I hear is whining from xbot fanboys who can't get over the exclusivity thing. Deal with it. How many things have the PC and Xbox gotten while the PS3 got shafted. All your whining isn't going to do anything. Glad Bioware is at least making it up to PS3 fans who can finally enjoy this great series.

I agree. The funniest thing is, THERE IS NO EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. I just can't believe people are actually pissy about not getting a comic version ME1, which is just the quick, abbreviated, watered down version of the original game. It's completely retarded.

I don't know, maybe you could tell us.
As far as I know, the PS3 has actually more exclusive titles that the 360 and the PC don't have.
Uncharted, Resistance, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, blahblah...
Note that I'm not complaining about PS3 getting ME2. I'm really glad about this situation.

Some companies do put the data on the disk and force you to pay money to unlock it. But most of the DLC for Mass Effect 2 seems to be made from scratch and, aside from a few places in the data that seems to be there to make integration easier, isn't anywhere in sight on the actual disk.

Actually, all of it is--at least, traces of it.

As I said previously, DLC is developed (usually) on different timetables with different teams. They make it so it can be specifically sold as DLC. If EA said "No more DLC", we wouldn't suddenly have Zaeed and Kasumi and Overlord on our game. They just wouldn't be there at all.

I vastly prefer pre-planned DLC: they are more fully integrated into the setting, with new companions reacting to other NPCs or companions, having their own plot that can possibly weave into the storyline (Shale and the Deep Roads, for instance, rather than just Honnleath), and missions that are referenced in other places and companions who react accordingly when appropriate instead of mysteriously silent.

Regarding DLC, does anyone know if there will be a Mass Effect 2 ultimate package that includes all of that, or will it just be downloads for now?

Indeed. All of those, save MGS, are owned by Sony.

MS is about to really learn about the pitfalls of limiting themselves to liscensing agreements.

How do the examples of those companies prove what this company does? It doesn't.

You haven't proved to me that BioWare is releasing content and characters--save perhaps LotSB--that was cut from the entire game to be sold to you seperately, instead of developed on their own.

I don't have to prove anything to you. That and you say I haven't proved anything, and then turn around and provide an example on your own.

I've made a decision about my purchasing habits, based on consistent, repeated habits of the gaming industry. It's up to Bioware to earn my money, not the other way round. They should be doing everything they can to bring in new potential customers - not just slapping in a half assed comic book and some content in a format that people don't want.

There's absolutely no reason for DLC on a Blu-Ray. If they can fit all of the DLC content on a disc for Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, they can fit it on for the release of Mass Effect 2. This is a total bilking of customers on Bioware's part.

Again, you will receive the same amount of free stuff as everybody else. You are not special. Would you rather pay more money for the game since the content that others had to download wasn't free? Or do you not understand the concept of DLC?

It's not free for me if I have to download it. I live in a country where I have to pay for internet usage, not to mention it's still quite slow here.

If they don't put the content on the disc then it still costs some people time and money. stuff like this makes me eager for the day when EA collapses

Another good point. Bioware are Canadian and they know exactly how badly Canadians get raped by Bell and Rogers. This should have made them automatically decide to put it on disc.

lol, mate I'm from New Zealand, we've only had hot water for about ten years ;p

I'm just getting sick of seeing great looking content that I'm going to have to pay for twice. Seriously I miss expansions coming out on on disks

Firstly I'd like to talk about what's on the BluRay Disc;  Of course Mass Effect 2 will be included.  On top of that, Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armour.

Also included is, as on Xbox 360 and PC, an access code to the Cerberus Network.  This will give you instant access to the same great lineup of Downloadable Content such as Zaeed and Firewalker.

Were they this pissy when we (PC users) got Mass Effect? Just curious, as I was away from the Boards at that time.

Sorry, but you are WRONG !!!

You want a proof ??? No problem IN THIS CASE !!!

Long time ago, Bioware told the people, that a release of ME2 will happen in the future. One of the things we were told was, that we will get the chance to recrut 12 (in words twelve) members for our squad.

Go into the game and count ... and you will be noticing, that you only have 12 (in words twelve) WITH Zaeed AND Kasumi.

So from the first words of ME2, it was clear that Zaeed AND Kasumi were planned IN the game.

Zaeed was used for trying to avoid second hand market ... Kasumi to get more money out of the game market, which resists increase of price.

For the future, Bioware (and any other company) will look better what infos they gave to their "fans" ... so it will be more complicated to look through their doings. But you can still be sure ... A LOT OF DLC is cut of out of games ... for several reasons.

And this is only because a lot of people BUY DLC. If they won´t, the companys wouldn´t get money out of it and stop this ****.

At some point BioWare made us believe we will be able choose our ME1 decisions at the start of ME2. Such option is not present in ME2 on PC and 360. You either import your old save or the default douche Shepard it is.
The PS3 version not only reintroduces the concept, it brings it in an attractive form of interactive comics.
Oh, and the save transfer tool is somewhat glitched...

Somewhat. It was mostly DLC related.

This is not a great series at all. Mass Effect 1 was pretty nice but Mass Effect 2 is average at best.

Sure it is ... ME2 is the best game I played so far ... and I played a lot in my 33 year life.

ME2 isn´t perfect ... for sure ... but it was a very big improvement to part 1.

Some things are not so well ... like

1.) load screen instead of elevators (etc.)
2.) nearly every shop gave discount, doesn´t matter how you acted to the owner
3.) stupid "end fight" ... suicide mission is great until that human baby reaper
4.) 95% of the missions are "pure" fighting

but hey ... improvements in grafics, gameplay and a lot of other things made this few things looking very very small.

Ah okay.

About the comic though, Mr Houston said we'll be getting it on Cerberus Network after the PS3 release.

Thank you for these clarifications Mr Houston.

Although i like a lot replaying ME1 when i make another Shepard, it would be great to add this comic and the possibility to skip ME1 for some Shepards on PC and XBOX360.
