/me wonders if VS DLC will be PS3-exclusive...

Unfortunately there is still no indication of DLC featuring the VS, I wish this wasn't the case.

Platform exclusive content is far too divisive IMHO, I hope BioWare don't go down this road.

Since PS3 owners had to wait so long and missed out on ME1, giving them already-released DLC for free and a catch-up comic is perfectly fair. Exclusive stuff? If it's just weapons, I won't care too much, but I don't like it. If it's more than that, expect serious rage. Collector and Blood Dragon armor as exclusives made sense, since those people bought Dragon Age and the Collector's Addition, and therefore spent more money. I paid full price for ME2 when it came out, so I think I should be able to get the same DLC packs as the PS3 players.

As a corporation, Bioware is usually careful not to nerf its fans. Playing favorites with one audience? That's just dirty.

I'm not sure what the fuss is. They're releasing a GOTY edition for PS3 one year later. I wouldn't mind an Xbox GOTY edition, but I've already bought all the story-driven DLC and no, I wouldn't want to wait a year to get all of it. This seems like a fair trade. (But people got all upset over the DA:O Ultimate edition - the point being yes, everything will be cheaper if you're willing to wait. I'm not.)

If the free "exclusive" DLC is just a "Recon Operations Pack," well, I can live without that stuff. The "Aegis pack" and other weapons/costumes packs didn't really impress me. It's the story-driven DLC that matters. My guess is the Recon Operations Pack is a set of the Dr. Pepper/EA bonus items that came out early this year: the Umbra Visor, the Recon Hood, and the Sentry Interface, all of which I have, but none of which I use.

If it turns out there's some massive Legion-based DLC that only the PS3 users are getting, then we can get our panties in a twist. ^_^

there it is again "as well as exclusive both Free and Paid DLC for all PlayStation 3"

I haven't bought any game from Ubisoft since the launched their 24/online-DRM and i will treat Bioware the exact same if that Exclusive BS is not dropped that would mean no SWTOR for me Bioware needs People for their MMO they can't afford to alienate customers
I as well as others i read about in different threads will boycott Bioware in the Future if that would be exclusive Content for the "Newcomer" i hope they don't.

See my edit regarding the
unannounced 'Exclusive DLC'. I can't give details, but I can tell you
that we're definitely working as hard as we can to create parity not
disparity between the three versions.

Easily done no exclusive BS

I think the Recon Pack thing will be Dr Pepper stuff, I really doubt it will be story-based content. I bet Jesse just can't spell it out because it's not finalised or the PR dept don't want him to.

Isn't one of the Dr.Pepper items called the Recon Helm?

That's the only thing I can think of unless there are any pre-order incentives that were given out at the xbox/pc launch that aren't available via other dlc packs now? I'll add that I very much hope they don't go down the exclusivity vote in any direction.

Yes Dave, there was a Recon Hood, I've got it and never use it because if covers Sheps head. There are few other bits (like the Sentry Interface), nothing too exciting.

I edited the original post to provide more clarity and hopefully calm down some fears of the Big Evil BioWare.
Beyond that, because there are certain things, I'm allowed and not allowed to talk about publicly, I can only release either very vague details or very specific ones on certain areas.

There seems to be a great deal of concern about BioWare ignoring our fans or trying to create a divide in our fans.  Why would we do that?  The entire purpose of building the PS3 version has not been to alienate our existing fans but instead to give new opportunity to those who have not yet been able to enjoy the games that we pour our hearts and souls into creating!  In fact, one of my mandates since starting this project has been to ensure that nothing we do creates a divide between the three groups of fans.   So trust me when I tell you that nothing I do intentionally on ME2 PS3 will deny a PC or Xbox360 fan from an experience they would have like to have had.

-Jess

Edit: For those that don'y know as a publicly traded company we have very strict rules on how we communicate publicly. That is why we're sometimes shackled on what we can and can't say at a certain time or place.  It's not 'cause I don't want to tell you every little detail about one of the best projects I've ever worked on!

Phew, thanks for the edit. So there is no exclusive mission DLC. Give DLC to everyone and make more money!

I once saw an Ally Bank commercial where it said "Even kids know its wrong to treat new friends better than old friends. Why don't banks?"

(Now ready it again replacing "don't banks" with "doesn't BioWare")

If tha's what it ends up being, then I'm fine with it.  Only one of those objects I really cared about is the Sentry Interface, and I've already got it.

Anyway, after reading what Jess wrote, I'm confident that there isn't going to be any major differences between the two versions, like exclusive story-driven DLC or something.  An exclusive weapon/armor set would be fine for the PS3 players, assuming they're not going to get the Terminus Armor and Blackstorm.  Balances things out that way.

Thanks for the edit, Jesse! Figured it'd work out, since BW is famous for listening to the fan community, but sometimes the rumor mill gets me worried...

Of all the questions I have about the PS3 version, it is simply this:

How has the experience been with creating ME2 on the PS3?

No content should be different between any of the the platforms period. I don't even care if it is the same gun but in different colors. If the PS3 is getting what could be called a game of the year edition or ultimate editon with DLC included. Then so should the 360 and the PC or just release the DLC for free. Everyone equal. Not having ME1 justifies nothing. Its a different game. If it were to be released the content and packaging of that content should be the same for all platforms. Every one equal.

To be honest it is a situation the whole software industry has created, in the old days if you bought a game on the PC, Xbox or PS2 you got the same game.  Now with Sony and MS fighting like kindergaten kids and the consumer finding if they buy a game on one system it has special content on another system it is natural for them to be suspicious especially with ambigious statements like "6 hour mission".

Even now with that carefully worded statement you had to put "exclusive" in there which in this day and age is a pretty loaded term.  I am still not 100% sure what this means for me as a PC gamer and how it will affect my Mass Effect experience.  However it is appreciated that you tried to clear things up and on a Saturday too.
