I never said it would, but since we've been told that we're getting ME1 via an interactive comic (I see 'we', I have 1 and 2 on 360), unless they announce otherwise, it's probably better to consider and hope how they can give the best possible experience they can and let you make as much decisions as possible as you could with the game. Because okay, playing a game can be more immersive, but a comic isn't exactly a bad way of showing the first games story, at least it isn't a simple list where you click the option you want to have made.

I don't know. I'm not fond of the Liara comics art (actually...I'm not fond of any of the ME art I've seen). And...ME comics also don't seem to be all that great to me. So I'm probably being pessmistic but I'd rather assume the worst and be pleasantly surprised than vice versa. But to go over must of the choices (along with the characterization) would be a long comic. (Plus we lose some of the great voice acting:()

Well if they gave the option of reading through sidequests, it would give the option of not reading through them, like deciding not to play them in the game, meaning it's more like the game.
I've only read the first part of the Liara comic myself in the strategy guide, and it seemed okay to me, not great, but okay.

Maybe. Hopefully. Still the lack of VO is gonna hurt. I mean wasn't that the main point of ME1? Having a voiced character?

Meh. That's exactly how I fond it. Very meh. Bland.

Have they revealed that the comic won't have VO?

Wow so now we shouldn't get the comic because it would be a waste of resources   Well according to you the PS3 version is going to die sales wise surely that is a waste of resources then ?  There is obviously a demand for this comic on the PC/360, hell depending on the quality of the comic Bioware could even get away with charging for it on the PC/360.  That doesn't sound like a waste of resources to me, that sounds like giving your customers what they want and getting paid for it.

As for you assuming that I wil buy Mass Effect 3, that is your perogative.  If you think I will buy a game from a company that doesn't value my custom then there is nothing I can do to change your thinking.  As I said I have been less than happy with the way Bioware has been doing things of late.  I actually regret pre-ordering Mass Effect 2 now and so far I have Mass Effect 3 pegged as a game I will buy in a steam sale.  But as I said I am not going to convince you of that so there is no point in me banging on about it.

Did I say die? Where did you get "die" from "meh"? "Meh" means okay. Not great. Not bad either.

Though yes I do see them charging for it. After it's already been released on the PS3 and not at the same time however.

Maybe you won't. /shrugs but if you're not going to buy it over a comic then that's rather silly.

Regardless doesn't SONY's stipulations force BW to have something exclusive on it...at least for a time? It'll probably end up being the comic. The DLC sure in heck isn't exclusive.

Hm...or maybe it would be covered simply by all that DLC being on the disk. I don't see how that counts as extra content seeing as how 360 and PC players can easily get it but maybe it being free was enough. I believe it's about 20% extra? Not unreasonable seeing as they're getting the game a year late.

Why would it? It's a interactive comic isn't it? Placing full VO would be wonderful but I highly doubt...though that is a good question. Is it a comic comic or is it a comic with a narration? If it's the latter it might actually be pretty good.

I don't see why they couldn't at least experiment with it, they could have the voice over work when that square is first shown and then you can go to the next square when you want. or have it auto, I don't see why either way wouldn't work.
But I'm not a programmer so I can't say lol.

Hm...but wouldn't VO make the size of the comic increase dramatically? I wonder how long the DL would take.

Not sure, I thought it would come on the disc myself.
If it is something you have to get from PSN or Xbox LIVE, VO might like you say, make the file size too large.

You know I just wish we'd get an expansion pack already. I could care less about this comic. I just want the DLC that'll bridge ME2 and ME3 already. :bandit:

The PS crowd gets the comic if it is universal, the PS crowd gets the comic if it is platform exclusive.  So, no... there is no result in this decision tree that screws the PS crowd.

If it makes you feel better to indulge your little persecution fantasy, though, ok... we can just leave it at "screw you" and give the rest of the PS crowd a break.  I strongly suspect that the overwhelming majority of PS customers only care about the content they recieve, and not at all about whether or not I recieve it, too.  You're the only one throwing a pity party over the possibility that you won't have an interactive comic all to yourself to make you feel like a special butterfly.

I've not been on these mass effect forums, usually on the dragon age 2 one.
DLC about Ashley Kaiden would be great though.

"The full Mass Effect experience" indeed.

Urgh. I hate M$

That's a beautiful thing.  The reason you hate Microsoft is, at least in part, because they shoved this platform exclusivity up Mass Effect's vent.  You point this out in a thread in which you advocate for a platform exclusive.

Irony, like gravity, is one mean mutha.

Timed exclusivity.

ME1 wasn't a timed exclusive.

Assumptions...

You've lost me on the Udina part, in my game, Udina has (mentally) Anderson's slap hand imprinted on his face.
And the best DLC would be some Elcor theater videos.

In the comics somehow Udina is councilor. Slimey Udina who even my most renegades of renegades wouldn't pick. Absolute nonsense. The only way they could make that up to me is by allowing me a second chance to blow the council to hell.

LOL I would enjoy that!

Udina as counsillor? That's a minus for comics everywhere.

and it's about time, there are enough ME1 adverts about the plays.
And Hanar spectre film, that advert also got my interest lol.

Exactly that's why the whole comics instead of ME1 is a wallbanger.  The comics can screw themselves. :crying: Ruining my choices!

Though on a more serious note I would laugh so hard if we actually got those. too much win.

No longer than a podcast of the nightly news.

Also, the resources needed to re-compile the comic to another platform would be minimal - it's a comic, it isn't that interactive.  There is no moving Shepard around in a 3D world, or anything.  A few college kids could knock it out in an afternoon, so BioWare should be able to do it in a couple of weeks.  They do good work... eventually.

That's part of the problem this comic isn't interactive enough to make up for ME1.
Why the heck don't they just package ME1 and ME2 in one disc "exclusively" (it wouldn't actually be a bloody exclusive just two games on one disc) add some random weapons and armor and have them on sale right after the PS3 version comes out (like a day after at the latest) for the other platforms and call it Shepard's Saga Part One and Two. >_> Ninja Gaiden did it.

Though VO would make the comic marginally better.
Just a smidge.

You do know I'm a ME2 Owner and a 360 Gamer right? I mean, it's right under the Avatar. Just throwing that out there since you think I want the PS3 to have the Comic as exclusive because I own a PS3, which I don't. I already explained it but it seems I will have to do it again.

We have ME1+ME2.

They ONLY get ME2 and a Tie-in Comic.

Just because you don't want to play through ME1 again for the 50th Shepard doesn't mean it's okay to give the PS owners the bird. They're already missing out because they can't play ME1 at all on the PS3. The Comic is SUPPOSED to compensate for that. It isn't anywhere near as immersive as ME1 and I bet you that if a PS Owner had to choose they would choose ME1 over a Comic.

So lets do this again...

PS Owners DON'T get ME1. They only get a Comic to fill in the gap. It's a glorified Save Game Editor and the only reason you would want it over playing ME1 is pure laziness or you feel the sudden urge to make a dozen different Shepards.

We DO get ME1. Why would we need the Comic outside of Laziness? Or that you want to one up PS Owners by stateing you get a CHOICE on using ME1 or the Save Game Editor while they're forced to use the Save Game Editor.

Really?  Because the way I remember it, BioWare told PC gamers to go screw themselves for at least 6 months after the platform exclusive X Box release of Mass Effect.  They even lied, blatantly, insisting that the PC version was not in development and that the game was intended to be an X Box exclusive for ever.  Who knows - maybe if EA hadn't bought the company, the game would be an X Box exclusive to this very day.

Crap with an expiration date doesn't magically become rose petals.  Platform exclusives suck.  Timed exclusives might stop sucking at some point, but they will always have sucked, until someone invents a time machine.
