This interactive comic's initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners who would be otherwise unable to realize the full effect of choice in the Mass Effect universe and will be included on the Cerberus Network.

The comic isn't exclusive,it's just being released on the PS3 first.Lets all stop arguing about which version is better.

The comic contains the same story as the game. It is comparable.

So you know for certain the comic is going to contain *all* of the same story elements as the full game? People are already guessing that there are certain elements that are going to be removed from the comic because of space.
It's not the same experience and not the same content.

We've talked briefly about the
Interactive Comic.  BioWare Edmonton (the group that made Mass Effect 2)
teamed up with the fine folks at Dark Horse Comics to create an
interactive backstory.  While I can't release all the details about this
yet, what I can tell you is that we want to create a stunning visual
experience that not only tells the core story elements of  Mass Effect
1
, but also is fully interactive allowing you to be faced with some of
the major choices which will have consequences your Mass Effect
universe.

The important word being "core". It's not going to contain the full content from the game.

Its not about knowing the story. Its about experiencing it in comic form. For example I watched Monsters Inc the movie. That didn't stop me from buying the novel. The novel is based on the movie and is a 'less than full experience' as you say. But its a different media and reading Monsters Inc is enjoyable in its own way. Same with the comic in this case..

A novel and a movie both contain the same "amount" of content - that is contain the same story.

A video game and a comic are not comparable - apples and oranges. Completely different.

You don't get it, the bottom line is we're avid fans that want to get our hands on everything that deals with Mass Effect. And the fact the comic will never be coming to PC and 360 is upsetting because its like Bioware turning their back on their pre-established fanbase for a potential fanbase. Considering it's a million times easier to code content for the PC and 360 than it is the Ps3. It doesn't make sense why we aren't getting it.

No, the PS3 owners would still get the comic.  If everyone gets the comic, then no one gets the shaft, see?

Yes, yes, the PS3 owners got the shaft years ago by being excluded from ME1.  We all agree that was bad, but it is no reason to shaft PC and 360 owners today.

And please, don't come back with that "you don't need it" rhetoric.  We don't any of us need these video games, at all.  We want them.  We need to mow the lawn, hit the gym, buy our wives Christmas presents, etc.  This is not now, nor will it ever be, a legitimate conversation about need.

Great, reason enough to want it then.

I will repeat...

PS3 owners wont get shafted if the comic comes out on PC/360. It doesn't make any different to them. Only a jealous sadistic mentally challenged person would want to punish us for something that is out of our control.

The Ps3 owners hear griping about wanting to keep the comic exclusive are the same kind of people who whined when Final Fantasy XIII was destined to make a 360 debut despite being the exact same thing and containing no 360 exclusive content

So what? There are rabid fans on the PS3 who want ME1.

And ME2 is the second game in a series - it doesn't make sense that we're not getting the first game.

This is totally half-assed on the part of Bioware.

I think the producers and directors of Hellboy, 300, The Watchmen, and dozens of Batman and Superman movies would all disagree with you.

Lard my point is you would consider the book of Monsters Inc inferior to the movie. So will you have a go at me for having both when I don't 'need it' lol. Reading a book is not the same as watching a movie, it is enjoyable in a different way.

Same with the comic, it is a unique enjoyable experience that PC/360 users should get.

I wouldn't care personally, as long as I was getting both games.
But we're *not* getting both games, and 360 owners are whining like we're getting some kind of special treatment, when in reality we're getting shafted.

Obviously you can't read, because that's not what I said.

I said a novel and the movie are similar because they have the same story content and structure.
This is like having a movie and a kids version of the novel that's 30 pages long. Not the same at all.
ME1 is an experience that PS3 owners should get, but we're not.

Erm what ?  I don't know what movies based on books you have seen but in my experience the movie is usually an "abridged" version of the book (oh look that "abridged" word has been used in here).  You usually find a book contains much more detail, I have seen movies based on books that cut out massive chunks of plot to fit the 2 hour time limit for most movies.

Now if I read a book and I like the book, then a movie comes out based on that book naturally I am going to want to see that movie.  Even though the movie will not be as indepth or detailed as the book I will still want to see the movie because it is a new way to experience the story.

In essence what some are saying here is "you read the book and it isn't fair you get to see the movie as well because I can't read the book so only I should have access to the movie".

Do u honestly think Microsoft is going to allow Bioware to port ME1 to the Ps3? That's like asking Sony to port Uncharted 2 to the 360.

Agreed, but Bioware never said that Xbox/PC players are not getting the comic. They just said that the comic's initial release will be on the PS3.

P.S:I can't wait to get my hands on the PS3 version. My Xbox is modded so getting DLC from the Live Marketplace is out of the question. Are the DLC packs a good enough reason to repurchase the game?

There is no point in asking questions like this it's not the scenario. In this scenario he is defending the position that the comic should be exclusive because the first was exclusive to the opposite platforms. He could very well say that through all his arguments he believes that this method is fair but in the what if scenario you put how are we to say he actually would say that?

This isn't an army, and it's not a government. It's not about "loyalty".

Companies are there to convince me to spend my money on their products.

And I don't want a console that breaks down after 2 weeks.
