There will also be some DLC Bundles, such as the Aegis Pack as well as exclusive both Free and Paid DLC for all PlayStation 3 owners such as the Recon Operations Pack.
Edit: While I can't go into details all of this content is or was available to Xbox/PC Owners but otherwise wouldn't be available to PS3 owners
More details about this will be released later. ;)

The wording here is a little iffy (english is not my native language, so it may be me). For the sounds of it, it seems that PS3 gets the comic and a new armor/weapon pack(wich may or may not be free) exclusively? It's not so bad if it's just that.
I'm not really going to complain, this stuff is becoming standard practice in the industry anyway. (and I happen to own a PS3 so...).

English is my first language and I'm confused. If I had to guess, the PS3 will get DLC bundled together but are actually combinations of 360/PC DLC (the smaller, item stuff). Hence the "all of this content is or was available to Xbox/PC Owners." But it is still confusing as hell. But I thank Jesse for trying to straigten it up.

Very interesting... I hope it's not released too close to Dragon Age 2.

If the exclusive content is story based, then I'll be pretty angry. If it's items, then whatever. I have a PS3, along with 360, but the only reason I'm not getting the PS3 version is because of the lack of ME1. Port ME1 and you've got me.

If the exclusive content is an expanded universe, longer conversations with squadmates and love interests, new story-driven missions, or all of the above, I'll sign a petition or two. If it's just a few new weapons and armor, I don't care. It doesn't do anything for the game at all except make it look prettier. Honestly, you people who complain about this are just examples of how a vast majority of the online geek community are nothing more than whiny brats whom have nothing better to do. Imagine if I complained to BioWare about how the standard edition of ME2 didn't have the extra weapons and armor that the collector's edition has, and I said that they were alienating their Standard Editon-buying fans. Wait, that sounds silly, don't it?

And again how it is fair that they get access to a weapon and armor that I can't on the 360 or PC, because it isn't. PS3 people shouldn't get access to content that won't be avaliable on the 360 or PC because it alters their experiense, maybe for better or worse, but not mine. If content is to be released, then it should be across all platforms. I use the ME Wiki a lot and I see all the great weapons, and some not so much but that's my personal opinion. And if I see a weapon that is looks good, and is backed up by things like YouTube vidoes, then I see that it's only avaliable on the PS3, that's NOT fair! Why should they get something just for them, and I can't? DLC content like missions, weapons, and armor should not be console exclusive and should be released to all platforms that have the game.

That being said, pre-order items are another matter entirely. Even then most of the ME2 pre-order items have been released already with the exception of the Blackstorm, Terminus Armor, and the Collectors' Weapon and Armor, but the last one I know a dev said that would remain exclusive to the Collectors' Edition.

How is pre-order items different than what the PS3 users are getting? If it had been released at the same time as the 360/PC versions, they could have just as easily done custom weapons if you get the PS3 version or the Collector version or pre-order from Gamestop. Unless you go out of your way to beg or buy someone's code, that means there will be weapons denied you based on what version of the game you bought.

In the end, some of it didn't matter as they were released in future weapons pack DLC anyway in spite of being promoted as exclusive originally. The same could very well be true with the PS3 weapons/armor given time.

I already knew that. :) But a  guy can dream right? I can remember it like yesterday - not even an hour after the PS3 announcement, and Microsoft jumps the gun and announces that to get the full experience you have to buy the first one on the xbox. Typical.

Well, there's this one difference that pre-order bonus items are announced pre-release, and I have time to decide whether I want them or not and which pre-order bonus I want more. Whereas here the situation is that I've already invested into buying the game and $30ish worth of DLC before learning that there's going to be content exclusive to another platform.

That being said, different pre-order items based on whom you pre-order from isn't that bright of an idea in their own right, in my opinion.

Thank you for the clarification, Jesse. Isn't it just wonderful when we get developer input on things?

ps3 gets exclusive free and paid content? so at least 2 dlc packs? how is that at all fair to the loyal fanbase who come on the forums and maybe even bought an xbox or a decent pc just to play these games? idc that me2 is coming out on ps3, but that it's getting exclusive content beyond the intro comic thing is such a betrayal. i can't really think of another instance of greater fan betrayal from any company. i hope they don't sell a single copy

While I can't release all the details about this yet, what I can tell you is that we want to create a stunning visual experience that not only tells the core story elements of Mass Effect 1, but also is fully interactive allowing you to be faced with some of the major choices which will have consequences your Mass Effect universe.

Its not a betrayal. Not entirely. Its just business. They do what they've got to do to make money. But look at it this way. The more copies of ME2 that sell, the more money they'll be able to pour into ME3, and therefore, the better a game it will be.

I honestly did laugh, because it was such a fast response. Like they wanted to make sure people knew ME1 wasn't coming to the PS3 in order to discourage people from using it. M$ literally shot Bioware's hopes to pieces. There really isn't a reason to get it on the PS3 if the first isn't coming. Even with an interactive comic, it just isn't the same. ME1>ME2 anyways. :D

Uhhh, videogame companies do this all the time. And do you really think it would be fair for the PS3 owners to pay full-price for Mass Effect 2 and have to pay for the rest of the DLC?

Geez.

I doubt it will remain exclusive. If enough people express intrest in purchasing the DLC's included for ME2 PS3, I am fairly sure that Bioware will decide to release them to the rest of the ME2 fanbase...for a price.

You know I wouldn't mind this "Exclusive Comic" coming to XBLA as a placement for ME1. It would allow me to set up ME 2 much quicker anyway.
