I will be very unhappy when the PS3 gets exclusive content that I cannot get, however.

I think you mean "If the PS3 gets exclusive content"
The comic is Initially exclusive, the meaning it will not stay exclusive.
The Recon pack etc. will probably be released on pc and 360 in the same way pre-order bonuses get a general release eventually.
So far nothing has been confirmed as being permanently exclusive and it looks like all the content will be available on all platforms.

Now that I only have a PS3 I can say without a doubt that I am thrilled to finally get the chance to play Mass Effect 2. Thank you Bioware. Looking forward to 2011 and hopefully Mass Effect 3 on PS3 in the future.

I'm just really excited because unless I get lucky in next few weeks, PS3 version could be the first chance I get to play LotSB seeing as my PC died before that came out and I've not got round to fixing it yet.

Not true, there is enough money to buy all neccessary upgrades to the ship and crewmembers. You can't buy all the armour and personal upgrades without DLC but this is the case even if you start with money and since when did an RPG have to allow you to buy everything in a single playthrough? Anyway the PS3 version will come with all the DLC so there shouldn't be any problems.Zrvan wrote...
Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I am kind of curious about this part:
Will PS3 players be starting with any cash in their account after Freedom's Progress?
I played a non-import game to see the Renegade playthrough of ME2 at my friend's house, and the not having the extra money REALLY hurts when trying to russle up the cash to buy all the relevant upgrades to ship/crew/Shepard. I recall reading somewhere that all of the available money in the game still leaves you a few K short of buying everything relevant to Shepard's mission.
So I'm curious to know if PS3 players are getting the bone on this, or if this has been addressed in the new version.
If all else fails there is always varren gambling.

Release them as DLC for the PC and 360 owners as well!!!
Not to mention where were the guys behind the interactive comic at the start the game at when it came out for PC and 360??? I'd like to be able to start a new game and choose what I wanted to have happen in ME1 without having to play ME1 all over or use the gibbed save editor (which could potentially affect imports to ME3).
$10 says the opening cut-scene is skippable! *grumble, grumble*

@femio18 and code_R: So do you think PS3 owners should pay over $100 for a year old game? Honestly I don't think anyone would buy that, especially when it costs almost TWICE as much as the 360 and pc editions.
The "I paid full price so everyone else should" is self-centred and flawed, If you are that angered by a drop and price then why aren't you raging at the people who can buy the game for $20 on 360 now, obversely bioware always intended to sell it for that price so everyone who bought it new was ripped off <_<
Everyone who buys a game accepts it will not hold it's value, it isn't a long term financial investment, it's for self gratification.
So why are you so annoyed when this happens? it does not affect you in the slightest.
I'm sorry I really can't see why you're taking an issue with something as common and petty as the cost of a product dropping as it ages.
I agree. I bought Dragon Age for the PS3 and got all the DLC minus Awakening. (Yikes 39.99) and I don't care that the Ultimate Edition came out.

I don't give a damn about armor other than ones that work for the particular build I'm playing, but buying damage upgrades and the like gets real expensive real fast.
Also, do you have a source on that 'there's enough cash' assertion? I don't doubt you, I just want to know when I can stop aacquiring credits (for when my PS3 version gets here).

Wiki's ME2 info is pretty bad, but you can easily get all upgrades:
Link : masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Upgrade GuideThe amount of credits available from a normal play-through covering all missions, assignments and current DLC is 1,280,251 with a theoretical maximum of 1,347,951 if avoiding the use of medigel and heavy weapons and choosing Renegade options for credits. Acquiring all upgrades no longer requires importing a level 60 (+50,000) character with the "Rich" achievement
(+100,000) or starting with the completion bonus (+200,000) from Mass
Effect 2 as long as all the DLC is installed, otherwise these import
standards are necessary.
Total resources needed to research/buy all useful upgrades:
- 205,500 palladium
- 225,000 platinum (+50,000 for Med-bay Upgrade)
- 220,000 iridium
- 35,000 element zero (+5,000 for each Advanced Training and +2,500 for each Retrain Powers)
- 1,253,416 credits (including discounts, this includes all maps,
and items which either lead to more credits or which lead to other
upgrades

Indeed, remember people, whilst there are some of us who have played the game and are still getting it for PS3 there are all the lovely 'new' ME players that will be experiencing Mass Effect for the first time on their PS3s. So spare a thought for those that would like to keep as spoil free as possible no matter how 'insignificant' it may seem.Venom UK wrote...
[*]Bozorgmehr + Zvran. Could you please refrain from game details and spoilers about Mass Effect 2. Whilst they may seem quite minor and obscure these are about money and equipment etc but they are only conversations that can be had by people who have played the 360/ PC game. I'm sure there are better places to discuss these than the 'PS3 content -no spoiilers allowed' thread.

Hope to see an Xbox360 version the same date, where the PS3 one comes into stores.
The DLC that it is getting? You mean the ones the Xbox360 version already has?
The Comic which... is 'Initially Exclusive'? I think the former would indicate that your hope isn't going to happen. Maybe a week or a month or whatever after, but not on the 'Initial' date of release.
This alleged mystery 'Exclusive' DLC? That Jesse Houston in the main post of this topic already confirmed was a mis-translation and was referring to all the DLC which the PC/360 version already has?

They didnt HAVE A WAIT...Its not like they even knew they would ever get ME...therefore there was no wait...it was announced what 2 months ago? So because they had to wait 3 months for a gmae? 3 months sure is one long wait...better give them everything for free and beyond!
I think its BS...The 360 and PC gamers made the series popular...so its the PS3 gamers who get everything for free just because they had to wait for something that wasnt even supposed to be on their console until 2 months ago? Thats pure BS
Wheres my free stuff for being such a loyal Bioware customer huh?

Rules for intelligent posting:
1) Calm down, no one makes good posts when over emotional
2) Read the previous posts, if a thread is over 50 pages long there is a good chance your views have been raised and commented on, plus it's good manners to everyone who has already posted. Even just the last five pages of a long thread will help you greatly.
3) Foul language only weakens your point. BS is a abbreviation, everyone knows the meaning so it is cursing.
4) Spelling, still important.
5) Entitlement. Sorry but just because you bought something doesn't mean you deserve to be treated better than everyone else
6) Insults. If you want to make a point don't resort to insulting someone (ie. Bioware)
If you want to be taken seriously and not be treated as a troll it's useful to actually read a thread and think before you post.

1. That wasnt even a very fired up post, just the truth of the situation
2. I am not going to read 50 pages...this is a forum people actually talk on them despite what people like you who get annoyed if they see the same comment more than once in hundreds of pages think.
3. Foul language? BS? and your hinting that I AM a troll? get real.
4. Spelling, nothing more great than someone on a forum who cries over spelling...if you can understand what im saying...then I could care less if i misspell a few words...if you cant understand what im saying..then its funny you post about "intelligence"
5. LMAO, thats actually pretty funny...kinda like the PS3 buyers who will and are going to be treated better than everyone else right? only difference is WE made the series popular..but THEY get the free dlc...so logical
6. Have you ever been scored on reading comprehension? I wasnt actually aware I insulted anyone
All in all, unless I have misunderstood the situation...The PS3 users will be getting all of the DLC in which I had to pay for...free of charge...because they had to "wait"...When in fact ME was never even supposed to be on the PS3 until 2 months ago...therefore making this "aw the poor PS3 ppl had to wait" scenario...utter crap...and in absolutely no way shape or form makes sense on why they should get it for free when in fact the people who are the reason the series is a success in the first place had to PAY their hard earned money for
Heck, I wouldnt even care if they announced the next DLC will be free to 360 and PC users...This is just like those bank commercials with the kids eating ice cream..."its not nice to treat new friends better than old friends"...If they get ALL of the relevant DLC for free...then jesus christ give us at least ONE DLC for free.

Now there are two ways of looking at the PS3 version. Either it's a re-release of a old game or it's a new game.
If it's a re-release then it's price should be compared to the 360 and pc versions. If you look a few pages back you'll find that a new copy on 360 and all the DLC costs about $5 less than what the PS3 version will probably cost. So buying on PS3 you'll (probably) have to pay more for the complete product and you will not have the option to just buy the main game for $20, you must buy all the DLC if you want to buy the game.
On the other hand you can say it's a new game, in that case the fair price is that of a new release game. Bioware can choose exactly what they put in it. Any comparison would be unfair as you're comparing two different games. No one is getting anything free, they are paying full price for a new release game.
So either the PS3 owner will pay the same as for any other new release or they will pay more than they would for the equivalent product on 360. This doesn't seem like a massive injustice like you're portraying it to be.
As for "we made it popular" let me ask you a question, if I went to see Avatar on the first day what would you reaction be to me attacking James Cameron for releasing extra content (interviews, commentaries, deleted scenes) on the DVD? If I were to say "It was me who helped make the film popular, you owe me the extra content" would you think I had a valid point? Or how about if the same argument were raised regarding the Dragon Age ultimate edition, people getting content for free that others paid more for?
As for insults I know if I worked at Bioware then I would have been insulted by your post, as I presume was your intent.
Finally I once more apologise for my tone in the previous post, but I am tired of seeing the same arguments repeated by people who are unwilling to read a few pages back.

Look, I'll freely admit I was being a bit of a prat in the last post, the fact remains people have been saying the same thing since page 1. Instead of any discussion people come in and start complaining about what they believe they deserve, so you can excuse me for getting sick of people posting the same flawed arguments every few pages.

It is a new game for PS3 users
They had no idea they were going to get it so there was no wait
I bought all the DLC Within a month of them going out but because they had to wait. They get it for free when they didn't even know they were waiting?
Thats like standing in line for a pizza and wanting your pizza cheaper than the guy in front because you had to wait longer than he did
Also the content they are getting is worth over $20 itself.
I am all for them getting the game but everyone should be treated equally

Fun Fact: Neither PS3 users, Xbox 360 users, nor PC users are being treated equally.
Other fact, the fact that they had no idea it was coming to them is debatable because of two reasons. EA and the fact that everytime asked about a PS3 version Bioware never fully denied it.
