I said it before and I'll say it again, Nobody forced you to buy the game from day one. I did it with fallout3, a GOTY edition came and yeah I was bummed about it but I had been playing it for like a year already so ... .
If you buy it from day one you're not allowed to complain about cheaper GOTY editions (because thats basically what the PS3 version is)
Thanks for your imput, but with all due respect bioware and all game companys need loyal fans like myself and many others to but their games on day of release. as we all know they have sales figure to meet in the 1st week month etc. if those figure turn out very low as everyone wait over a year, EA could quite poss consider it a flop and then cancel futre releases such as you may not of had ME2 for ps3 if they didnt get the money from early sales to fund the project. now dont get me wrong i love anything bioware makes and will but it no matter what. its just the principle if you buy it on day of release to support you developer later down the line you see this happen, it can be a bit insulting. Thanks.
its nout to do with the ps3 getting the game or any bonus features, its just simply the dlc i and many others paid for, or if u dont have it still have to pay for .

the costs it takes to build AAA titles like Mass Effect 1 & 2. This means thay have more capital to use in
produceing Mass Effect 3, this will make it a better game. But what I do not like is that PS3 owners will get all the DLC I had to pay for on Xbox 360 for free! "NOT COOL" BioWare! And they also get the free interactive comic! Hey BioWare how about throwing a bone to all of the loyal hardcore Mass Effect fans on the Xbox 360 that helped to make Mass Effect a hit. Maybe by makeing the upcomeing final DLC for Mass Effect 2 free for 360 owners or at least at a discount for them or some thing like that . I can not wait for Mass Effect 3 it will be great!

I think this is different. After the release of mass effect 2 for ps3 in a few months it should go down in price but at the moment it should be full price and dlc price included. for them it is not considered an old game but a new game that they are getting an amazing deal on. xbox and pc users got a crap deal for getting it straight away. the ps3 users are getting a much better deal out of this
How is this different when a game company puts out a Game of the Year edition? It happens all the time... A game comes out, people jump on it and buy it for $60. New DLC comes out. New expansions come out. People buy those separately.
A year later, sales have dropped. Everybody who was going to play the game has played it. The game company releases the original game, plus all the expansions in a special edition to try and stir up interest again.
Feeling that Bioware is somehow ripping you off for re-selling a game that you've been playing and presumably enjoying for a year doesn't make any sense. They're not taking anything away from you, are they?
I mentioned this in the other PS3 thread. Their main goal isn't to try and get people to rebuy a game they already bought. It's not to try and make people who want to play on one platform jealous of another.
They just want to introduce Mass Effect to a bunch of people who so far have been denied a terrific gaming experience. How can anyone who loves the game think this is a bad thing? I don't know about everybody else, but I WANT more people playing one of my favorite games.
Haven't heard of the GOTY version for PC or XBOX yet so it just looks like they are getting cheap ultimate edition. But as i said before my rant won't change things. Even though i feel differently and see it as being a bit cheeky enjoy the game PS3 users I have nothing against you.

Here's the thing the fact that ME2 is coming out on PS3 shows Bioware wants to expand it's community but since they are getting it as a late port plus the fac t that they won't be able to truly experience the ME trilogy due to the first ME so Bioware needs to entice PS3 only owners who might pass it off as another simple port. PS3 owners from what I understand have all suffered from horrendous ports that Bioware had to really go all out.
To make sure the PS3 owners feel welcome they're making sure they get something extra great they had to compromise other users like yourself. You call yourself a loyal Bioware fan then you must understand that this compromise is a needed action to drive the point that they are not playing around with the PS3 community.
Be happy that Bioware somehow and someway manage to just give PS3 owners stuff that both 360 and PC owners have had access for before and the comic the only new thing in ME is given to both PS3 and 360/PC. How bad do you think some people felt with exclusive DLC that remained exclusive up until now for other games? As far as I'm concerned they've had it much worse and when looking at those situations it makes the whole situation with ME2 a whole lot less stingy.

It still dosent change the fact that if you own a 360 your still going to be charged full price for the dlc on xbl marketplace. me2 ps3 wouldnt exist if not for people paying full price for games so that the get the publicity needed to make sales and procure further release. i have nothing against it going on ps3 or anything, just that we will still be charged for dlc that ps3 gets free. Im all for Bioware making money to get more great titles out etc but still they need to make sure they dont alienate their orignal fans by charging them for someting someone else gets free as if it annoys enough people, they could loose more money or fans. Like i said in ealier posts i love the ME series and all of BW's work just this little niggle thats annoying alot of people. Thanks

If it's any consolation, Mass Effect: Genesis (the interactive comic) is coming to the PC/Xbox 360 versions too. Hopefully on January 18th with the PS3 version!
That's not true, I'm afraid, Casey Hudson said himself that Genesis was exclusive for ps3 in an interview, see here:
Yes, i'm as annoyed as you. Ah, well at least we can agree that the PS3 version actually looks worse, for consolation.

You can buy Mass Effect 2 for the 360/PC at like 20 dollars USD (according to Amazon). Now let's add up the cost of the DLC you would have to purchase after you've bought it (not counting Cerberus Network).
Lotsb: 10 dollars
Kasumi: 7 dollars
Overlord: 7 dollars
That is 44 dollars.
The PS3 is paying 60 dollars for all of that.
Which number is bigger?

They're not getting anything free at this point you bought it early hence the price they're buying it with the DLC NOW where most people can find the game at $20 totalling the games cost to $55. I would have agreed with you if ME2 on PS3 was sold when the 360 and PC version was at a much higher price or if it wasn't released a year later but, but you're blaming Bioware for making PS3 players pay full price for a game that is worth far less should they be bought for a different system NOW.
In truth you're only annoyed because you bought the game and enjoyed it earlier than the rest because my friend was gifted a 360 last month bought ME2 at $20 then it would have netted him a total of $55 bucks had he bought all the DLC then and there but he bought it at when Bioware had a sale and he got cheaper than $55.
So will you blame Bioware for allowing a Microsoft to conduct a sale on it's DLC making people not have to pay full price for the DLC?

Im glad ME2 is coming on ps3. You 360 owners get everything first the majority of the time and 100% of the time when call of duty is invloved.. We ps3 users have to wait for everything, everytime its a joke. You dont like it when the shoe is on the other foot so please show some pride and just put up with it, maybe one day when microsoft stops bribing everyone it could be a fair market. Similar to the ps2 days, i never used to remember xbox ads being spammed left right and centre. Its a free world, i should be able to buy any console or any game without being afraid of getting a lesser experience and im not just saying that for ps3, 360 also.
Besides your not forgetting that EA partnered with sony at the E3 conference. Maybe you should tell the 'monopoly man' that is bill gates and his company to stop licking activisions ass, then you might see support for games widely spread.
Rage over, it just pissed me off that i saw so many people complaining but you dont know how good you have it, subscription fee or not.

Has anyone seen the content of the interactive comic. It's utter fail. It's rife with omissions and factual errors. They could of at least given PS3 owners the facts of ME1. I mean Shepard is 29, Kaidan is 32 and Shepard calls Kaidan a "good kid." Why is there a dead Krogan next to the beacon. Did the write of the comic even play ME1 or did he or she hear about the game second hand?
Half-assed is the word I would use.
