PS3 Exclusive Content Clarification

And the constant griping about how the PS3 is getting content "for free" that we "had to pay for" is just hilarious. Yeah, this is, like the first time in the history of gaming that a bundle edition of a game including post-release DLC comes out. Never happened before. Only the bad, evil ripoffs at SATAN EA BEELZEBUB could possibly think of such a nefarious scheme.

Do people always get mad at things that 'could' happen? I may get fired tomorrow but I'm not telling my boss off just because he may do that.

Obiviously people should have to pay 60 dollars for a game that will be nearly a year old at that point and have to pay over 40 dollars for the rest of the DLC because they dared to buy a different videogame console!
God, Console Wars are so stupid.

The fan base that built Mass Effect franchise and is the only reason Jesse Houston has his current job is being slapped in the face by this exclusive content. [Edit] this is no longer a slap in the face
The key word you appear to have missed is current Jesse Houston's current job is 'producer responsible for Mass Effect 2 on PS3', this job would not exist had the PC and Xbox crowd not bought the few million copies they did. Lastly, though I don't want to undervalue their role at bioware, whether or not Jesse Houston has a job will not have played a significant role in the release of ME2 as it's unlikely they were the only applicant for the position they occupy. I just want corporations to value those who made them what they are, it would seem that Bioware do this so all is well in my Mass Effect universe.
P.S I'm not a fan boy and will be getting ME2 on PS3.

Lets stay on topic folks. My role, job security and impact on the franchise is really not up for debate hereIf ya'll are interested in understanding my role, you can feel free to message me offline or have a read of this blog post http://blog.bioware....-jesse-houston/ .
Ha, it's funny. Usually, when a port of a well-received game is made, people question the quality of the port, expecting a poor job. But here, people are complaining that the port will be better than the original, included with additional content.
I guess that's a compliment

So, you seem to either believe that everyone who owns Mass Effect is on these forums, or that the 4k and change people who visit these forums have somehow managed to but millions of copies. The sales of Mass Effect 2 are not at all due to the community here, since most of the concerns voiced here were also raised in the many dozens of reviews scattered across the internet. Get off your high horse, Bioware owes you nothing, Jesse Hudson owes you nothing. The only thing you are ever promised in your purchase is the game, additional content is just that, additional.DetailedSubset wrote...

This interactive comic's initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners who would be otherwise unable to realize the full effect of choice in the Mass Effect universe and will be included on the Cerberus Network.
Sorry if this is already asked, but does this mean that XBox/PC owners will get the chance to download it eventually? I ask this because as much as I love playing through ME1, I would like to be able to get a few different saves in with a multitude of choices from the first game so I can experience it more fully. And playing through ME1 for at least 4 1/2 hours just to have that opprotunity seems a bit much.
I fully support bringing Mass Effect 2 to the PS3, and I consider it a worthy goal of Bioware to be inclusive of such a wide audiance. But still, I've wanted something like the webcomic ever since the game first came out, so if there could be confirmation that XBox players will get this at same point, I would greatly appreaciate it.

I never said anything about the community here being solely responsible foe the success of ME. I said the PC/Xbox crowd was responsible which includes everyone who bought the game and who is not on the forums as well as those who are. Bioware owes it's customers everything without us they would be nothing and ME wouldn't exist. Using exclusive content to draw in new customers at the expense of the old ones is wrong and that's the end of the matter as far as I can see. Bioware however is good and knows that its customers are responsible for their success so I have no problem and fully support the PS3 version.

Can you tell me, if there is any chance, the XBox360 will see an Add-On-Disk with the DLCs anytime in the future ???
Or maybe a GOTY ??? ... even if I would prefer an Add-On-Disk.

Still unsure why some are pissed about more people getting to play the game, thereby adding more revenue and increasing the fanbase size, which will probably provide more incentive and feedback for ME3's quality. Competition bias, I suppose.
Did you ever have a toy that you really, really liked and would never share as a kid? And then when someone else got the same toy you got jealous because now they were playing with it?
Same principle applies to people ****ing and moaning on the internet.
^This
After reading his edited post it should be obvious to anyone with half a brain that "exclusive paid or free content" (And let's face it... most of it will be "paid" lol)= Dr. Pepper stuff, Collector's Armor/Weapon or Terminus Armor/Blackstorm. And people are still whining like there will be some miraculous exclusive story mission, when it's obvious there won't be.
I've seen ME2 for PC on sale for 9.99 twice now this year, can easily get it for 19.99 on XB360 and the DLC has been on sale on LIVE as Deal of the Week before. PS3 owners will be paying 59.99, you can argue that you paid that or more (I know I did for 360 CE). But who cares? Face the facts, by the time the game is out you will easily be able to get the game + all the DLC new on the other 2 platforms for less than they will have to pay on the PS3. Also, we've gotten to play the game all year now. Stop whining and let PS3 owners enjoy the damn game too, who cares if they get an extra gun or two right out of the box. Jesus.....

There will also be some DLC
Bundles, such as the Aegis Pack as well as exclusive both Free and Paid
DLC for all PlayStation 3 owners such as the Recon Operations Pack.
Edit:
While I can't go into details all of this content is or was available
to Xbox/PC Owners but otherwise wouldn't be available to PS3 owners.
More details about this will be released later.
As he states, all of this content is or was available to Xbox and PC owners of Mass Effect 2, at some point in time. Not some of it, all of it.
Thus, there will be no original content for the PS3.

I hope to god you're not going to use the "Story So Far" video as the intro for the PS3 version, because that video was terrible, with a horribly written voiceover. And hopefully the intro comic isn't forced and badly done.

Why exclusive stuff for PS3? Seriously, you do that and there is no chance in hell I am paying for anything ME related ever again.
Same. I will just buy it used. Project Ten Dollar was a joke; all we got was a few little things and nothing particularly good. If I can buy it half off a month or two after release, I'll go with that. This kind of crap (quasi exclusive stuff/free stuff) kills any form of loyalty to Bioware.
Let me clarify: Bioware, I want to love you but everytime you give us something good (LotSB) it's immediately followed by bad news. You don't need to reward PS3 owners for waiting; I would be incrdibly happy if Naughty Dog ported Uncharted to the 360, even w/o free DLC.

Yeah, but I mean hopefully they won't force people to have to play the interactive comic, or that it'll be badly drawn and scripted, like Dead Space Ignition.
