Still, it's a very good point jbh61987 makes. Having to lvl up a completely new char or keep an uncompleted char around to experience dlc sounds like a bad design decision to me. It got to the point where I literally did not complete the game ever with my main character for fear I would miss out on dlc in DAO.
Honestly, dlc seems like the trend nowadays and giving us New Game + would add incentive to purchase them. Everyone wins.

Idk about any other mages out there, but i hated running around in "mage robes", or "noble dresses" for virtually the whole game.

Nevermind that DA:O didn't have a NG+ either
NG+ seems to be a way to build replay value into a game that doesn't have any. i've never played a role-playing game that had NG+. i've replayed them because i wanted to play as a different kind of a character. for some of us, DAO didn't need NG+ because the experience of the game and the ability to make different choices was so vast that it justified multiple playthroughs. i feel the same way about Fallout 3.
given that these choices have been vastly reduced in DA2, i can see why there would be hope for a NG+ option.
of course, the fact that this is desirable says something about DA2 versus DAO. not that one is better than the other, merely that DA2 really shouldn't be compared to DAO because it's trying to be something different.

are you serious, this sucks. you can't start a new game with your high level character
And, you expected to be able to... why?
This is priceless. People are complaining that DAII is too much like Origins.

NG+ is a complete 180 from the concept of 'Role Playing'. Never did it in ME1 or ME2 and I found it annoying that to build the 'optimum' shepherd for xfer from ME1 to ME2, you had to do it.
Why would your character get to redo 10 years of his/her life, but with all of the combat prowess he/she learned in the last 10 years?
...
EDIT: that being said, I have played DA:O, ME1, and ME2 more than once... but with different characters starting from scratch.

Make no mistake, I am SOOOOO not holding my breath on this one. It'd be nice if it happened, but the likelihood of it actually happening is pretty close to, if not 0 entirely.

Because Dragon Age 2 is a game, not real life, and the point of games is to have fun.
Honestly, with the new game plus features in Mass Effect 1 and 2 I was sort of expecting it to be in Dragon Age 2. As soon as I beat it I went to the main menu looking for the 'New Game+' option. A major disappointment.

Whatever reason they have for not including one is excuses. There is no logical reason not to have a newgame+ mode, other than lazy, or not enough time.
