A company named Condor. Blizzard bought it 6 months before Diablo was set to release, and it got renamed 'Blizzard North', which also produced D2.
Back to the original thread...isn't Witcher 2 going to feature a dialogue wheel type thing?

I've seen nothing so far of that nature. The game was in alpha stage a couple months ago, so it may still be evolving. They are, however, using paraphrased dialog options, as well as some timed responses in certain situations. They've said they are going for a cinematic presentation.

And is the sky falling over on the CD Projekt forums, too?

Not in the least. The amount of indifference is remarkable, in fact, when you look at the changes:
-QTE's. I've been outspoken on this from the beginning. I hate the idea of them and they have said they are optional.
-Timed responses.
-Paraphrasing.
-No potions taken during combat. Ever. Not sure how this will work.
-Stealth options. Again, I can only speculate...
-Geralt has a ponytail. This is the most oft-cited complaint. No kidding.

I don't think any old school RPG fan that enjoys story and narrative in their games can just ignore Diablo 3 offhand.

Sorry, apparently you can - I ought to have said 'should'.

Diablo III is going to outsell every RPG combined next year. Doom for us all! Actually I'll be buying Diablo III too.
Awesome, another Blizzard game to ignore. I can't wait.
Is he its lead designer? I ask because I have never enjoyed a game world more than I did Jade Empire's and if even a bit of that sense of exploration and wonderment is being carried over, I'm preordering.

According to a video of Jade Empire's credits I've found, the Lead Designer was Kevin Martens and this post on Battle.net identifies him as the Lead Content Designer.
They also identify a Game Director and a Lead World Designer, so I'm not sure what Mr. Martens is precisely responsible for, but I imagine quite a bit.

But can't we just sticky a thread and call it 'The "Cancelling Preorder" Thread' so that all the people who don't like DA2 can meet up and rrrraaaaaaaaaaaageeeeee about the changes?
A place of doom and gloom, of elitism and overreacting, of nerdrage and nostalgia. There, I found you a tagline. Now make a single goddamn thread and stop polluting the forum.

Make it happen.
Seriously, there's like 3 different rage threads on the first page alone. Why? I don't know.

And yes you're right i too will buy The Witcher 2 because the first one was on a level of storytelling amateur writers like BIoware who recycle everything can never achieve.

I can't believe trolls are calling the non-trolls trolls! It boggles the mind, really.

Illusive man : The Whole galaxy has gone to hell and there's only one man that can save it. Get me Sheppard.
DA II : The whole world has gone to hell and theres only one man to save it. Get me Hawke.
And in both the main focus will be the character quests, or loyalty quests right?
I'm not a troll i love The Witcher and Dragon Age, but you can't deny how much recycling BIoware does and how poor the quality of the writing is (Giant terminator pumped with human goo)

DA best part was the gameplay and the combat. And now that's gone.
