Is that better?

Yes

@New guy: Making an account & cursing everything the game is about in the same day is considered bad, that is why people are taking issue.

Whoah sorry i'm late to the party but leonard boyarsky is lead designer on diablo 3, one of the genius minds behind fallout and its coming out next year along with the witcher 2 and DA2 how the hell am I going to get the time to play all these. Are there any nobel prize winning quantum physicists on the forums who can help me with a little experiment involving a clock like machine.

I was talking about Mass Effect 2. I played as a soldier had four "skills" to choose from and none of them made any difference because just shooting from cover was enough. That's not an RPG. Where's the meele class and stealth class? Where are the dialogue options based on your skills? Like if your character is charismatic he can convince people to see his way. Or If he's intellegent he can solve the quest one way, or If he's skilled in computers he can solve it another way, ect...There was none of this! You just go to one location shoot stuff , make a good bad/ decision, repeat.

I know how it looks like, but as i said i made this from my EA account, and I'm baffled at how people can support Bioware after what they're doing, making the game into an action title because it's easier that way and because fratboys wouldn't have to bother with the ROLE PLAYING ELEMENTS IN A ROLE PLAYING GAME.

Vanguard was a mele class? No sorry shotgun =/= melee it's still the same as the other classes or shooting stuff from cover.

I haven't played infiltrator, but I'm pretty sure that had some kind of class with tech abilities, but it was still the same as any other.

You're doing it wrong.  And melee-range might as well be the melee class in a game based on firearms.

Anyway, keep arguing over what an RPG is.  It's going great!

Infiltrator can cloak.  If that's not a stealth class, then I don't know what is.

And can you sneak arround picking peoples pockets, or leave your teammates behind to hack a turret or something, or sneak behind enemy lines for crit shot from behind?

Point?  Actual melee classes in a sci-fi setting really make no sense.  If you post a picture of a zealot or a zergling in response I will slap you.

There is no point in preserving every single RPG archetype as it exists in every imaginable setting.  It is stupid, and breaks immersion.

The only acceptable future melee weapon is a lightsaber, chainswords don't count, the only count in Evil Dead/Army of Darkness.

Since you are playing a military Special Operations of the Future & not a zealous space crusader you arguement has little merit

That's why it was a bad argument. The argument shouldnt be "melee in a sci fi setting makes no sense" but "melee in the Mass Effect setting makes no sense."

Although I'm sure someone could come up with a way to manipulate mass effect fields through biotics to do physical damage at close range, the fact that biotics have a longer effective range than arms reach means it probably isn't practical.

That being said, if they copied Star Wars or Warhammer or Starcraft they'd just be open to criticisms of being derivative. Especially in the case of Star Wars.

They're being derivative without it.

Bald space marines, Spectre = Jedi, Agressive "proud race" Krogan = Klingon, Cidatel = Federation, Synthetics with joint conciesnis , Borg = Geth.

Ignoring the inaccuracy of your comparisons...

So your argument is that they should be more derivative in regards to gameplay?  Something you've already been critical of them for doing with their story?

In what universe is your argument consistent?
