I was talking about Mass Effect 2. I played as a soldier had four "skills" to choose from and none of them made any difference because just shooting from cover was enough. That's not an RPG. Where's the meele class and stealth class? Where are the dialogue options based on your skills? Like if your character is charismatic he can convince people to see his way. Or If he's intellegent he can solve the quest one way, or If he's skilled in computers he can solve it another way, ect...There was none of this! You just go to one location shoot stuff , make a good bad/ decision, repeat.
Your first point is still nonsense. Whether or not you needed to put points in any skills to complete the game has nothing to do with it--I'm quite sure I could beat Origins with only starting skills.
Second, others have already pointed out that infiltrators can stealth (and get a damage bonus from stealth). Damage bonus from behind? This shouldn't be news to you, but a bullet to the head doesn't care what direction it comes from. Vanguards are pretty much melee, but it's more than a little silly to insist that RPGs have to have melee classes unless you think RPG = swords and sorcery fantasy.
Third, I certainly seem to recall picking up a skill that boosted my paragon/renegade score. That was the dialogue skill.
