Hello everybody. I've installed NWN2 OC and MotB. Each time I insert the DVD, I heard the music that you can find in your installation Music folder, with the name mus_autorun.wav.
Once in the main menu, if I press "load", I can hear a longer version of the same music. I've tried searching for it, but I can't find the file. Can you please help me in identifying it?

PS: by the way... can someone tell me why I am not more able to see the intro movie? That with Ammon Jerro and the Kind of Shadows? It happened when I patched the game after installing MotB...

If you have the line
Disable Intro Movies=1
in your nwn.ini or nwn2.ini files then the movies are skipped. That shouldn't have happened automatically though, you would have had to do it manually.

The intro movie is I think Intro.bik and should be in your Program Files/Atari/Neverwinter Nights 2/Movies folder. If it isn't there then it won't play.  Maybe the file was deleted or moved somehow.

Regards

Ok, I've checked WHATEVER .ini file in the install folder. No, there isn't the option you have specified. The intro movie is still there where it should, about 133.000 kB.

Other ideas?

Thank you for the link but... I would like to see my intro movie when I enter the game (it's useful for helping me feeling the atmosphere), not in a player... Instead, I would like to hear the loading-screen music in a player :-D

Open this folder: C:\\Program Files\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\Movies

Rename WOTCLogo.bik to WOTCLogo.bik.bak

Make a copy of Intro.bik and rename it to WOTCLogo.bik

Ok, I was looking in the toolset. I've open the area property panel and I discovered the music I like is called: "NW1 Scontro finale", which translation in English is "NX1 Final battle" (or something similar). However, that music seems to be the "final" part of the music I can hear in the loading screen... I am even more confused than before o_O

@I_raps: thank you, nice idea! So now I can see the intro movie instead of the useless logo saga :-D However, I am still curious about HOW the movie disappeared o_O

Any nice solution for the mysterious music file? :-D

The expansions disabled the movie because that's not the story anymore.

Bad, bad expansion. Since I've installed MotB and patched the game, I got THOUSANDS of problems. Maybe patching is not the solution :-D

I_raps, omniscient knower of NWN2, can you also tell me which is the music file that I love so much?

In C:\\Program Files\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\Data you will see a couple files - music.zip and music_x1.zip. I'd look there.

I've done that, but it seems I am unable to find that precise music... It's the MotB loading screen one, the music is similar to the file "mus_autorun.wav". But I can't find the longer version.

That long version only plays with the intro video, right? Is there any reason to believe it's ever been available separately?
If you really need it, those RAD tools should be able to rip it out of intro.bik.  Or maybe poke around on your original cds/dvd.

[edit]  Scratch all that - maybe.  Isn't  mus_autorun.wav part of  mus_theme_nwn.bmu or mus_theme_main.bmu in the same folder?
p.s.  bmu's will run fine in Windows Media Player or Winamp.

No, it isn't :-( thanks for trying... however, I am listening to all those files. I have to find it! And to answer to your question, no, I've heard it also in the game (can't remember when), but not from the start, from a bit more forward. In fact I had recognized it once that I had not loaded the game immediately (so the music was still playing).

EDIT
I've found part of the same music, declined in different ways.
mus_nwcity.bmu and mus_nwcity_interior.bmu

You have me perplexed.  They reuse that theme with variations all over.  I can't place the one you're looking for.

Maybe I could record some seconds from the start and load it somewhere with a link... or send it to you a link via PM. So you can understand which is the music I am referring to. Is it ok?

Thank you for letting us know what the music file name was Vaalyah. I was looking for it tonight myself. Now I need to find the original art. Not that SoZ isn't good, but I hate snakes!
