Hello all!

I've been trying to equip clothing and a sword on an NPC I'm creating, but I can't figure out how to do it. I created the items, gave them their own names, and they won't show up when I open up the NPCs inventory. I checked them in too.

Also, when I do manage to get an item to show up in the inventory, when I add it to the NPC's inventory it won't equip. My character is still naked and weaponless, with clothes and weapons in their inventory. Now while this would be quite funny in game, it's getting a little annoying.

I know i'm probably missing something so obvious, but I've looked on the wiki and I can't find the answer in the tutorial section, any help would be appreciated! :D

You need to assign the items to a slot, or they will just sit in the inventory. Armor goes in the Chest slot, boots in the Boots slot; weapons and shields can go in Main hand or Off Hand.

Oh okay, only problem is I can't find the slots in the tool set. I feel so stupid, how do I access that area to put it in the slot? Does it look like the slots in game?

If by any chance do you have a screen shot? If not I understand, I'm just super confused and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere (I'm guessing because no one is as stupid as me, hahahaha)

Thanks for the answer! I'll keep looking.

It's all done in the same interface where you add things to the character's inventory; it's toward the middle of the window.

Okay so here is a screen of what I got. I add the item, but it won't equip. The guy is still naked, I was trying to equip an outfit on him.

Here's a screen:

Do I have to save it before it shows up? Still not sure.

Click the Not Equipped (Not E...) field - it is a drop-down and will show the slot the item should be in. Select it and the item should be equipped.

Incidentally, regarding your original question - when you create some items, use F5 to refresh the palette before opening the inventory. Otherwise, the items won't show up until you reopen the toolset.

Well, I know this is over and all..10 months ago... But now I'm trying to do the same thing.
First of all, I'm trying to change the equips worn by the original NPC guards, and Duncan in the single player campaign.
I got the items ready and equipped to the NPC. I know this because I can see the display in the toolset that they appear just the way I want it. But after saving it, and checking in the resource, I start to play the game. They're still wearing their original armor, and Duncan end up using a different armor but not the one I wanted.
(I changed Duncan through the Creature section and changed his appearance from "NPC: Duncan" to "Human" so I can equip the armor)

Any thoughts?
