I'm creating a farming community and wanted to put some wheat fields in the distance. Looks like I can do that by setting the Draw Distance to High, but I was wandering: has anyone run into any limitations with that much vegetation being rendered at once (performance or otherwise)?

I ask because doing a Do All Local Posts from my area takes a half hour, so it makes testing out the different settings kind of a pain.

vegetation has an impact at performance to some degree, but that's minor.

btw 30mins of rendering time is fast^^

I haven't really gotten past half an hour for posting levels, and they're fairly complex/large. Rendering lightmaps usually takes me several hours though, if that's what was meant.

I haven't found that posting to local takes an inordinate amount of time, and I only have an E8400. Rendering lighting on the other hand... There's a reason I do things like that while I sleep.

Strange, takes just minutes for me -- I do not make levels larger than 192x192 though.

Maybe I should stick to smaller levels. I overcompensate because you can't update the size later on.
