DA2 is surely targetted at console audiences. We have received many suggestions proving this fact. Get used to it. For PC gamers, DA2 will probably be a bitter bite to swallow.

This is nonsense. What we have are a bunch of people making that same claim over and over again. But none of it proves anything.

News Flash: The console versions of DA2 are aimed at console players while the PC version is more aimed at PC players. Who knew?

Or maybe the person really is ina groundhog day scenario and the toaster incident happened in a previous variation of today.

Clarification:"Mike Laidlaw wrote...

Hey folks,

Victor managed to hunt me down, and I wanted to clear up a few things with regards to what I'm seeing as the two major concerns on this thread.

First off, let's talk about the toolset issue. Obviously in this community there's going to be some concern that we wouldn't release a toolset, so let me clear the air a little: The tools we're using to make Dragon Age 2 are very, very close to the tools you guys have used to make your mods for DA:O. They're not identical, as we've made a few in-house improvements, but they're almost identical. As such, there isn't a new toolset to release, per se.

While we won't be releasing a toolset update in tandem with Dragon Age 2, we ARE investigating what it would take to update the community toolset to match ours, along with providing DA2 content in the future.

As to the subject of tactical view, I can confirm that we will not be doing a tactical view on consoles, though we are looking into some expanded party control that I think will make console players quite happy.

On the PC, however, we are still working with the camera to keep the key elements of the tactical experience there. I was actually playtesting some new camera code when Victor found me, in fact, so I can give you the latest news on that front.

While we likely won't pull as far up as we did in DA:O, I have always felt that the key to tactical play was actually freeing your camera from the character you're controlling to issue precise orders, which is what we're tuning now. So, this means you can still maneuver the camera around the battlefield and issue orders from a remote location, just as you could in Origins.

As you can probably tell from my phrasing, all of this is a bit in-flux right now, so things may change between now and ship, but I wanted to update you guys on the current direction of things.

Mike.."

Incorrect. They are just improving DA2 on the console as the PC version was a thousand times better. Improving the console version so it's quality is similar to the PC version doesn't mean the PC version will suck and is being ignored.

They'd rather fix what is broken rather than leave it stranded behind again.

Holy crap a hammer was swung down on my head! Is this a epiphany? Why couldn't I see this!? It was so simple..... Thanks Dave.... just..... just wow. I was such an idiot.

No they aren't, they make value judgements on incomplete information then come on here to rant and not listen.

Valid possibilities both, gentlemen! In case I hear someone saying "brrrrraaaaaaiinnnnssssss," I'm SO running out of this thread.

EDIT: saw yuki's response - was that in reference to the previous variation of today thing or the zombie thing? O_O

Hoping they do a toolset after release. I'm fine waiting a few months if they're more focused on just getting the finished result more polished. Mod community is a very, very small part of any PC community. It rarely ever takes priority these days and understandably so from a business point of view.

That was the truth. The rest is just damage control, and you people are swallowing it up.

No tool-set will be released. I will eat my foot if that happens.

Why are you here, then? If everything they say are nothing but lies, how do you know the article was true? Maybe they lied there too?

How do I know they aren't lying that they are lying?!

The dude probably told the truth there and after a lot of negative reaction from PC gamers he had to make some **** up.  Am i the only one who realises this? This is the official stance of the guy that PC gamers can suck it, which i find odd because the poor preformance of TOR will probably sink the company.

They aren't considering releasing a toolset , and the aerial camera will probably suck too and look tacked on.

Why should they release a totally new toolset when they aren't using a totally new one to make DA2?

If the aerial camera looks like it is described it will be a horror

Honestly, I'm more looking forward to this new "detachable" camera than I'm upset at the possibility of using a camera I never even bothered with in the game. Then again, I'm obsessed with taking screenshots. I just deleted the content of my Fraps folder a few days ago and cleared up 10 GBs of space.
