I use to plan on stormplay and Aertheca, and by adding some text to the properties to the desktop nwn shortcut, it would send you directly to your persitant world, by pass every thing, you could even enter password if needed. Any one know how to do this?

The switch you are looking for is +connect

Example shortcut Target:

C:\\NeverwinterNights\\NWN\\nwmain.exe +connect 192.168.0.1:5121

(Ignore the repeated backslashes, this board fails)

If the server requires a password then just add to the end: +password yourpasswordhere

Or try Xfire....its really convenient indeed for connecting to servers.

It is a software that has loads of other features and the connecting to servers is not at all the main feature but I'd get it even if only for that :-P

Our PW Has a resource downloader app, that doubles as server status monitor.
Also has a Feature called
'Start Rhun'

Allows the user to jump straight into the server.
The added bonus being, that it patches the nwn process at runtime to disable the Master Server authentication - meaning players arent held up for 1 minute waiting for the master server to time out.

Players get in to the server in around 15-20 seconds flat.
