Is there a way to create full body armor with regular stats (armor+fatigue) without going the clothing route?

I tried to make a new clothing variation and give it normal armor stats and progression but then the hand and foot models show through the chest piece. If I tweak the clothing entry in bitm.gda the end resault is the desirable but that affects every clothing item in the game.

Seems like that entry (ID 38 in base item property) is hardcoded to override hand and foot model. Is this confirmed?

Anyone know a way to get around it or create a variation without affecting the rest of the items?

The best you can do using existing categories is to use the Massive Templar armour type (ID #22 Armour -Massive - No Boots), as that hides legs/feet. It will still show hands though without separate gloves equipped. I did briefly toy around with this myself once but never came up with any concrete way to get a new full body armour type. Just adding a new row to BITM_Base would appear to be insufficient, as there is nothing obvious there that dictates what parts an armour type hides.
