Why is everyone so happy about the new inventory system?

Of course, in DA:O this didn't really work with light armours, since Felon's Coat doesn't look much better than the stuff you get in your origin story.

All "gear" choice should be removed, Bioware knows what stats we need so why would they give us the option to change it?
The only thing you should be able to choose in an RPG is dialogue.
Everything else is for nerds. Thank goodness they are making the combat more like God of War (my favorite game).
DA:O was mind-numbingly boring and filled with stuff I didn't understand. My bras and I like all of these changes, they are good.

As a member of the PC master race, I endorse this message. It is good that we have people like you to remind us how we are superior for our taste in video-games.

There was no inventory in ME2. You never noticed?

If you like to play platforming button mashers go & play them don't try & bring that kind of gameplay to the RPG spectrum. We want a choice because we like customization. Try being less offensive next time

Now, I'm curious: where as an ME2 Shepard-style inventory confirmed for companions in DA2? I'd really like to start my happy dance, but near as I can tell it's just nineteen pages of hearsay right now.

Changing story is for writer wanna-be's. Who should be just writing their self-insertion Talimances.

Agreed, shouldn't we all just trust in BW all things inherently? It is awfully presumptuous and shows a real flawed sense of entitlement to think that you the player know what dialogue choices represent the Dragon Age story better than Mr. Gaider himself. For the sake of integrity of the story, the characters, and the setting I think it would be best to remove all PC choices in dialogue and interactions with the game world. Plus it will allow every one to get back to the real meat of the game, explosions and decapitations, faster. Now that is immersive and thought provoking gaming....

Clicky chores and redundancy are NOT choices. Most likeley this are userinterface issues (like the terrible inventar in ME1). Secondly: your "spending half the game collecting..." is an integral part of gameplay. Title like Diablo and WoW depend soley on that mechanism.
They get annoying and clicky chores if they are done wrong. Like in DA:o. But Title like Diablo proof they can be done right and add tremdously towards the gameplay.
Well, that's the thing. I find those games completely boring and worthless, precisely because of that gameplay. I like RPGs with loot despite them having this kind of gameplay, not because they have it.

I think the problem is PC gamers are inherently nerdier than console gamers, and since us console gamers provide most of the revenue for a game you PC gamers get some of the dorkier stuff neutered.
Things like gear choice should be eliminated, then you can add competitive multiplayer arenas and not have imbalances.
Bioware is making pure-win these days, with ME2 and DA2 it seems they have finally learned that console gaming is where its at - and we won't accept boring games that force *thinking* and *choice*.
There is a reason the majority of people like fighting games and not RPGs, and Bioware understands that finally, after 10 years of making failing games nobody remembers.

But like Shorts said, if I don't like the outfit it will probably bug me. It's a risk when you can't change clothes on followers. Not everyone is going to like what they have designed and the follower might suffer from it. I only used Miranda in ME2 when I was forced to..

And apparently PC gamers are shallow and baseless philosophically as well.
Anyway, back OT.
Remove gear! Remove inventories! Bioware made the game, they should assign all of that stuff.
There should be 4 buttons: weak kick, strong kick, weak punch, strong punch
Doing them in series of combos you should be able to pull of unbelievable moves.
The other things Bioware should look at is removing the map, after I beat a boss I don't want to have to "run" back to town. It should warp me there, like ME2.
Sigh ... still a ways to go for DA, but we'll get there. Bioware wants God of War revenue, and I want more God of War.
