that is odd.

MSSQL Express 2005's installer has a limitation that prevents it from installing to a directory path that's longer than 58 characters. Microsoft's Knowledge Base has details here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935371
Unfortunately, the default installation path used by Steam goes over this limit. When you hit this error you'll get the error message
"SQL Server Setup failed to execute a command for server configuration. The error was [Microsoft] [SQL Native Client] [SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near '='. "
A workaround has been developed that allows installation to work correctly, however.
Open the file \\\\\\\\Steam\\\\\\\\steamapps\\\\\\\\common\\\\\\\\dragon age origins\\\\\\\\tools\\\\\\\\toolssql\\\\\\\\MSSQL.1\\\\\\\\MSSQL\\\\\\\\Install\\\\\\\\Sysdbupg.sql
Find the line [it's near the bottom] that reads:

SELECT @certificate_name = QUOTENAME(@certificate_name, '''')

and change it to

SELECT @certificate_name = '''' + REPLACE(@certificate_name, '''', '''''') + ''''

Re-install toolset.
If you can't find these files, you can try doing it while the installation process is ongoing. When the error message above pops up, edit the Sysdbupg.sql file and then click "retry" after you save the modified version.
If you still run into problems, Delete temp_MS_AgentSigningCertificate_database.MDF and LDF from C:\\\\\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\\\\\Steam\\\\\\\\steamapps\\\\\\\\common\\\\\\\\dragon age origins\\\\\\\\tools\\\\\\\\toolssql\\\\\\\\MSSQL.1\\\\\\\\MSSQL\\\\\\\\Data

You may also run into the following error message:"SQL Server Setup failed to execute a command for server configuration. The error was [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]CREATE DATABASE failed."This one can be worked around by replacing the Sysdbupg.sql file with a blank file of the same name.
Note: BioWare is working on this problem to produce a better workaround than having to edit things on the fly while installing. We may be able to produce a new installer that handles this situation. Hopefully this won't take very long, we thank you for your patience.

Oh, I didn't realize you posted already.

Yeah, that's exactly the same error I get.

Yeah, the file isn't there even after the toolset installs, and sql server 2005 install eventually builds that file. I tried to fix the file in time, but I got another error - error creating the database name, probably because it already exists. I wish they did a drop if exists statement on that database name and asked for an overwrite ;)

Ugh, I'll just put up with the inventory problems I guess.

I got it to work. I uninstalled the toolset (didn't do that) and then edited the file during the install. I had to press "retry" to get it to read the changes. Kind of hectic ;)

Thanks!

I just keep buying backpacks to increase inventory space by 10 each. I am up to 110 inventory slots so far....seems to be enough most of the time.

Well, i Had about 65 taken out of 90 before I started the mage circle tower quest... and even after increasing my inventory to 999 using the toolkit, I managed to get to 115. I don't think the bags are enough unless you drop stuff or avoid taking stuff that you can sell.

Backpacks respawn at vendors who sell them as you complete quests, so it pays to revisit them and scroll to the bottom now and then. The only problem is the cost tends to get rather high. I'm at 120 slots now and have only just arrived in Denerim. The dwarven vendor in camp has sold me two backpacks so far. Got two in Lothering too, once when I arrived and again after I did their quests, from the same vendor.

I'll have to try to toolset thing though; can never have too many slots. People who like to be forced to make choices can avoid buying bags and run with the default size for all I care. I love having lots of carrying space.

Now altering game stats any stat I consider cheating well I don´t give a rats ass if you wanna ruin something you have paid for, you can´t have everything... not even the Jack Pot in lottery every week

Cheating implies you're robbing someone of something, so it's not cheating. You can't really cheat in single player games.

It's a bit unfair with the restriction, I can see it's alright for limiting what potions I can carry and how many sets of armor pieces (I kinda love it for this. I hated being overloaded on armors and weapons like I was in KotOR) but gifts? Ingredients? I think these things should at least have bags that have extra space. Like, a bag that can hold... Say 20 gifts or ingredients and only take one space in inventory! That'd be great.

Thanks to whoever posted the toolset fix for the way to low limit to inventoy.

I sure do enjoy the fighting and finding stuff. Worrying about what to carry is a drag.

Well, I've checked and so far there isn't an "add item" command for the console. If I had to venture a guess, however, I'd say it'd be "runscript zz_additem x", without quotation marks, where x is the item number. But even if that code works, it'll take a while to get the correct item number...

So, why hasn't anyone done that yet?
