I don't have a link, but I think remember hearing that it was laid out for better access.

That was fast, had a two paragraph response lined up saying how useful of a resource it was.  Especially in DA:O

Ok, is the Codex voiced this time around like Mass Effect?

Ms Mary, Ms Maaaay, Ms Mééééééurí.

There's any chance that'll get a real codex in a special version of DA2? It could be expensive to make, but hey, we deserve it.

...well, kinda. In some... hm... well, we're not crying SO MUCH lately just... ahm... err... ok, forget it.

I asked awhile ago and the answer was NO.

David Gaider said somewhere that he would never make a Codex like this, at least in DA2. I'm almost sure of it, at least.

You need better bait than that to trap a Gaider, Onyx, come on you know this to be true.

Better organized? Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It took me months to finally read some Codex on the wiki and realize how interesting the DAO lore is. Even only opening it up in-game made my brain scream in anguish. All those flashing yellow squares... *shudders*

The codex is not voiced, no. I can't tell you much about the layout, because I haven't seen the final codex GUI yet. I have at least been reassured that it will not consist of a series of featureless numbered boxes. Although I guess they could be messing with me, and they actually mean it will be featureless numbered circles or something this time.

It's going to consist entirely of anagrams.

Pft, no that's how you trap me.

And good to hear, Kirby. Or well, hopefully it turns out to be more accessible and user-friendly anyway. I'm a huge codex fan.

I am personally hoping that each codex entry is one of those sliding puzzles, and you have to shuffle squares of text around to form the entry before you can read it.

They're mixing it up: this time it's featureless UNnumbered boxes.

I prefer a riddle, so we'll have to guess the Codex's subject. If we're wrong our PC will explode and then turn in cheese and we'll be on a nug.

I actually liked DA's codex, but the number of boxes popping up all at one time to alert you was very annoying. I would just have to start ignoring some of them or all I would be doing in the game is clicking on "new quest/quest completed/new codex". There must be a better way to bring it to our attention... I hope.

That's good. Nothing more annoying that putting up with a narrator that speaks at 1/3rd the speed you read.

The more confusing the GUI for the Codex, the less likely I am to read all of the fantastic writing therein. Maybe the GUI guys are trying to steal the mojo of the writers by making their work inaccessible! I think the writers should do something about it.

Maybe have a food fight.

And film it.

And put it up on the website.

Ms does not indicate matrimonial status.

Miss = unmarried
Mrs = married
Ms = liberated from your patriarchal value judgments
