Zev is awesome. His constant humour was hilarious.
Anyway where can you find some funny Zev banters?

I don't know when, if ever, I will do a character that does not get along with Zevran. I think I'm too personally attached to him. I wanted to explore his dialogue, so I used an old save with a romanced Zevran at adore, as I was curious as to how he handles the Warden, at adore, kicking him out. I couldn't do it. I merely started the dialogue tree, wanting to bask in the glory of awesome voice acting, and couldn't carry through with the conversation. He gave me the puppy dog eyes and looked so confused and distraught... I can't imagine how it could have gotten more heartbreaking if I did force him to leave, as just bringing it up... gah...
It's funny to me, the Zev haters and people playing evil wardens, who think waking Zev before executing him is the cruelest thing to do to him. Shows how little they know about the character.
I kind of wonder if they could still dislike him and carry through with hurting him if they did get to know him well enough to get to adore. I guess they'd have to use that infinite approval exploit. They probably would. Or hit esc for his dialogues. I mean, man... even if I don't like someone, seeing someone that hurt is heart wrenching. It's pretty amazing what the team were able to do with this character, and a shame so many people don't explore him well enough to apreciate the work that went into him.

lol My mage, who's supposed to be romancing Alistair... just belongs with Zev. It's really funny how the game does that to you. You create a character, have an itinerary in your head for what the narrative for her play through might be, and then the characters surprise you, situations surprise you, and your own character starts surprising you. XD

Indeed. I have killed him once before waking him just to see what happens. THe only one I felt worse about murderknifing in the game was the time I accidentally slipped with my mouse and killed Dog in Ostagar. Made me cry (Dog not Zev). I also wanted to see Zev betray me in Denerim but couldn't bring myself to NOT talk to him and give him his boots and gloves. He's my second favorite companion and I enjoy having him around too much.

Usually if one goes with the middle of the road responses to his stories about being a Crow and such, it doesn't offend him, even if you express disagreement or concern over his view on killing, and it unlocks further dialogue, as he'll elaborate on his story, or discuss his views further. He's usually pretty easy going.. He seems to appreciate that the Warden is getting to know him better before judging him, and can understand where he is coming from even if they are clearly uncomfortable with it. I'm pretty sure I got higher approval that way than with murder cheer leading.

My first playthru he betrayed me in Deerim I guess I didn't have his approval up,so the second time I cut his throa,t and left him beside the wagon where he first ambushed me.
I notice that happens a lot.
But honestly I can't bring myself to wake up the guy and spare him. As far as my PC is concerned he's just the same as the rest of the bandits who attacked them. Why does he get a free pass when everyone he had with him is dead? (Now if a companion had stopped my PC that would've been a different story. But no one stops my PC so...). Honestly that's the same reason I can't spare Caldrius, That elven chick, so on and so forth. If you had your mooks attack my PC and they died well. It's your turn now.
So yes I can't wake him up. There's no reason for it. As far as my PC is concerned anything he could say would be suspect (plus they have no way of knowning he's not as deluded as those soldiers of Loghain were) I just slit his throat and keep moving.
Edit: Wow. A month old thread. DIdn't notice that at first.

If you've never let zevran live, I suggest at the very least letting him live one game, take him with you. talk to him, get to know him. You two can still end up disliking each other which leads to another chance (or several, depending) where you get to kill him... He's a fun, funny, flirty, irreverent, and well-written character. His banters are great.
I mean, seriously, this is a video game and he's a character who's written into it -- why not at least hear it once? I'm not suggesting you like him, and become his BFF or anything -- a lot of people don't like him. That's ok, HE doesn't mind -- as DG said once (seriously paraphrased), "Zevran laughs at your need to justify him, then makes out with your sister in the corner". But obviously a lot of resources went into his creation.

Then someone asked what I thought about Zevran, and I had no idea who they were talking about, once they explained, I figured it was just too late to restart that game (I was just getting to the Landsmeet). On my next playthrough, and every one after that, I've let him live.
I can't do the romance, but at the end he is a good friend of my Warden.
