That was not very heroic though, letting Vaughan live then ratting out Soris. You will hear about doing the latter on your revised play through, and rightly so.

I think Soris is also mifed at you later.



Shianni gives you another chance though, I think.



In both my City Elf runs Vaughan ended up a funny looking stain all over the floor, and so did his friends.

Hearing Shianni say:

"They'll write legends about you someday. When the world was at its darkest, there you came, fire in your eyes like something out a storybook." Is totally an awesome moment in the Origin.



I am really incapable of taking the bribe before Vaughan gets his spiel out I am already after his blood.

yea I try to go through every dialogue option because I know there is a purge later and my PC would try to avoid it. Then when he says 'he'll be keeping the girls' that's the thing that makes my PC see red. I could probably walk away if I could get Shianni and the others out safely. If you play a CEM and choose the right dialogues you find out Vaughan has done this before and the girls didn't always survive the treatment.
IMO for sheer drama, this Origin wins hands down as my favorite. The only one I like better is the Cousland Origin because that family is just so awesome!

I have an overprotective trend to my family I think.

I had this horrible sinking feeling when Vaughan started talking.
I imagined one of my little sisters there, or my younger cousins.
Something went off, I saw red and Vaughan saw the violence inherent in the system.

Nothing he could have said would have saved him at that moment.

If you're wondering, Soris is still in jail. He's the one who tells your LI, if in the party, about your wedding. People at the Alienage hate you, though Shianni will give you another chance.

No, I have never ratted out Soris.

Those who have responded said they don't know because they didn't say Soris did anything. (I myself always say "I did it") and even if you do that, Soris still ends up imprisoned and the Alienage purged by Howe. Is that what you're asking?

I am presuming if you didn't take the bribe, your family is still on speaking terms with you. (In which case you should get the dagger) but really I'd recommend just playing if you can't find it on wiki. There are so many permutations it's hard to say. But as I say I have never shared blame for the slaughter with Soris, I always took the blame myself.

Even if you don't get Fang its not a game breaker.

I remember talking about this once:

Bribe Not taken: Vaughaun is dead, Shianni saved.

Bribe Taken : Vaughaun alive, Shianni raped, you get some gold (bastard)



If the bribe is not taken, People treate you much nicer, you get Fang, and some nice dialouge.

If the bribe is TAKEN, You dont get the dagger, you get disowned, though Shianni gives you another chance. (bastard)



When confronted by the guards you can:

Implicate yourself

Implicated you and Soris

Stay Quiet (Neira rats you out)



Yor are then recruited by Duncan.



When you return if you:

Take the Blood ritual or sell the elves into slavery: Shianni hates you no dagger.

Dont take the blood ritual or sell the elves : You get the dagger and some nice reunion.



For my two city elves the bribe is not taken, and Vaughan/Caladrius ALWAYS die.

Its nice to be able to get people who think their station can protect them.

I was literally foaming at the mouth when I got to Vaughn Cursing and screeching profanities at the xbox. It was THE MOST SATISFYING origin to play. I cut his head off his neck. It was AWESOME!!!

Are other people angry with you later in the late game after you return to the alienage? I'm just wanting to know in regards to soris being taken by the garrison by your own doing.

Hmm is there any way to get a happy reunion with Soris?  IIRC, even taking all the "good" choices, he sounds resentful/jealous of you when you come back.
