Did she have god-mode on? That might be one reason it seems easier. So far as I know, BW has left god-mode on in all the demos so that people don't eat it (of course, if could still actually be easier even w/o god-mode on).

god mode is on for hawke, though party members don't get that luxury. in one of the videos, a guy tried to do hacky slashy style and that got his whole party except for hawke killed.

Unless the video you are talking about is different, it was Bethany who was the last one standing and she was kiting around to survive the Ogre battle.

maybe the god mode is only active on the player instead of ai controlled party members, i stand corrected.

Highlight's the environments and we get to see some good lightings too.

I find flashing lights during combat too much. Prefer doing away with them altogether. One of the cool things of Origins was that they were a bit more austere. This isn't some kid's game for crying out loud.

Just finished watching the video. The cameraman was pretty smitten on the player as he kept on concentrating his shots on her instead of the actual games. <_<

Bethany still took damage while the player was controlling her, so no.

^ This. Barely saw the game, but I can tell she's a C-cup. Men and our crummy libidos.

yes there is god mode on the demos, it was explained that even though health goes down your controlled player won't die.

I've seen most of the other leaked game play video's before and this one was nice in it showed us a different area of the game. Which, I might add, looked pretty good.

It also occurred to me that the placement of the portraits with the straight bar style of the health & stamina/mana tended to crowd the area of the screen where the battle action would take place. It may have been more noticeable to me this time around due to the angle of the camera person but I think it would be better to move them toward the top left of the screen. Similar to where the portraits were in Origins.

Overall, it was a nice to see further footage of game play. Hopefully, next time will have the PC version.

Looks like Aveline might be a permanent party member, though I hope she's not the second LI. As for Isabella looks like we meet her early in the game.

Wittand25 wrote...

Well no new info appart from the fact that Aveline still does not put proper armor on at this point in the game. On the other hand you can meet Isabela early in game, so Aveline might just be too low level for platemail at this point. But keeping a sword and shield warrior in the clothes that Aveline wears in the beginning would be worse than Isabela´s choice of clothes so I hope that it does ot happen.

erm, haven't you heard? Party members have only one outfit like in ME2, you can't equip any armor on party members

It's just me or the target system is a little faulty? When she used that "teleportation" skill the camera and Hawke got a little lost of the target. Isn't there a target lock?

It's not quite the same. You can still equip them with your choice of weapons, rings, amulets, belts, etc. It's just that party members now have their own outfit slot that unifies the Helm/Armour/Boots trifecta. It's to allow the artists to give each party member their own distinct look.

We don't know if there'll be multiple outfits for each character, but it's much more possible than in ME2. I mean, the slot is there on their character equipment screen, it's not just fixed. We DO know that we'll be able to make upgrades to party members' armour using runes and padding, etc, and that the party members will sometimes upgrade their own armour during time shifts in the story.

well there is an outfit slot from what we saw in isabela's GUI screenshot, but it's too early to say anything though.

It's not too early since devs confirmed it. There's an outfit slot because you can upgrade the outfit, but visually the party member looks exactly the same for 10 years

That's not entirely correct. For example Carver's outfit does change. Most companions retain the same outfit the entire time.

Ok....I got that they want companions to have unique looks...I dig that just like in PST. But could the uniqueoutfits make some sense given the role of each character? I mean I understand aveline wearing her regular clothes in lothering but AFTER? She is obviously a tank so why does she not have a unique outfit that reflects her role? Bioware did it before...look at Liara's light armor in lotsb, unique and appropriate are NOT mutually exclusive

at this point, we don't know if Aveline is going to be a permanent party member.

the only characters confirmed by the devs to be party members until now are varric and isabela, everyone else is until further notice subject to speculation.

I know that you can´t equip the followers yourself. But the followers will get upgrades for their armor during the time jumps and hopefully their equipment will also update visually in some cases. While remaining in the same cloths is no problem for mages and rogues for warriors like Carver and Aveline it would be plain silly to run around in their starting clothes the whole game.
