Since then, I've upgraded my computer to windows 7 (Firefox is now a **** that barely moves, but that's beside the point. God, even Vista was better than this).
One day I was in the mood to play (my legit store-bought copy of) Dragon Age again because I heard a new game is coming out,
I also noticed that there are cool sounding DLC's, some new patches and fun stuff on Nexus like realistic Alistair kisses.... Realistic
sex scenes with Alistair... Wedding scene with Alistair... Alistair....
~swoon~ *cough* to the point. So heck, I got all of that stuff, too, why not. Finished the game enough to know everything about it anywho, can't be bad to see some new things.
But as I was fooling around, I was about to head to Denerim and all I got was a loading screen and then my first blue screen since I got this computer. I can't even get INTO the city, and I noticed in the task manager that it hangs right when the loading starts, even if it does seem like it's working.
I never had this problem before and my game always worked just fine, even if my computer is made of fail and laptop. Sure, it would sometimes be slow and load screens are a pain, but it would work.
I tried whatever I can, I lowered my settings, I verified cache files or whatever, closed every other program but explorer and daorigins and pretty much everything other than uninstalling and reinstalling, which I'm doing now.
I'm usually not one for posting problems, because any problem I've ever had google had the answer, but it seems to be just me this time, although there was another similiar case I found somewhere which was unanswered and locked. Everyone else says that they get into Denerim but crash in the market or during Alistair's cutscene with Goldana or can't save or stuff like that, but I can't even get to that.
So it can't be just me, can it? What do you think I should do? All these crashes are really hurting my fragile computer.

EDIT: Oh! What a surprise. It's that stupid 1.04 patch's fault.
I redownloaded everything but didn't apply any patch, got all of my old DLC's and lo and behold! Not only is my game FASTER and won't crash anymore, I can go into Denerim no problem now, plus it takes less CPU usage so I can hear music, which I couldn't before.
Only downside is that I can't play the new DLC's that I bought.
Hey, Bioware, here's a tip: Instead of making up tons of DLC's for your sucker obsessed fans to buy and buy and buy, try to fix your game instead of wrecking it further. kthx.
