So thanks for nothing BioWare, EA and Steam. After digging and looking (and looking and tweaking and digging) I finally fixed the unauthorized content issue. I have seen peices of this in the different forums, so those of you with little hair left like me should know exactly what I am talking about.
First, make sure you have entered the CD key and the BioWare site shows all the DLC is authorized to you.
Next, you need to go to C: > Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > dragon age ultimate edition > bin_ship
In there you will find DAUpdater (I know you have seen this mentioned, as I did, before). Run this file. It will open and ask you to go looking for DAZIPs. The one you want is located Here:
C: . ProgramData > BioWare > Dragon Age > DAUpdater > Data
Browse to it and open it in the Updater app. It will run and install really fast. Then reopen the game and log into your account. It will think for a minute and presto. Please let me know if this helped you. I was about ready to organize a torch wielding mob and march on BioWare... or Steam..... or EA.
Fix for Unauthorized Content in Ultimate (Steam Users)

I can quite get to the directory that holds the DAZIP. Can you give the path again?

Hmmm.. When dragon age 2 rolls out i will have this in mind. Take it down from a torrentsite; follow 2-3 simple instructions and then begin to play.
Or go with my Dragon age ultimate experience, where i spend hour, after countless hour of frustration trying to get my legally bought game to work.
mm... its puzzler to see what im going to do.

When DA2 comes out iam definetly not gonna buy it since ill remember how badly DA origins and awakening sucked
... anyway have to agree with pessimyst, theres no file in C: ProgramData > BioWare > Dragon Age > DAUpdater > Data
My DLC's are still marked as Unauthorized when iam online, everything works fine when i log out of Bioware servers though ... bioware should fix their sh*t before releasing it.

I have the same Steam problem.
I first use the code in this website for the DLC (getting to a page full of information to download->Your registered game promotions ).
Then I add the ultimate game cd key.
I can download several of the DLC's acording to Steam:
"All Nine Content Packs
Extend your adventure with The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, Feastday Gifts, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Feastday Pranks, Leliana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt. Collect new rewards, gain new party members, and more as you delve deeper into the Dragon Age storyline."
But the first one "Warden's Keep" is one of the ones that I can't download.

Ok i guess i figured out the problem with unauthorized content. Yesterday when i've finished Origins and started Awakening in offline mode i saved my progress, exited to main menu and loged into Bioware servers, then a customer called me and i went to fix some of his crap. When i came home after like a hour i was able to continue even when loged to Bioware. When i've checked my DLC, all unauthorized marks was gone. After shutting down the game (not like i did it myself the game just CTDed after few mins) ive loged again to Bioware servers but the DLCs were marked as unauthorized again. After 43 minutes of waiting all DLCs went from unauthorized to normal and i was able to play again. So seems to me like Bioware verification or whatnot server is lagging badly, since after about 3/4 hour my DLC was ready for use without me doin anything, the only thing iam missing in Awakening is the Dragon Armor so maybe that one was made exclusively for Origins only (if someone can confirm this theory it would be nice). So my advice, dont give up and wait, you'll be able to use your content ... after some random time interval xD

I had this same problem. My solution was as follows:
1. Make sure you have actually redeemed the Promo Code on the website and all the DLC shows up in your account online.
2. Start the game and go to the DLC section and see all those nasty "unauthorized" things.
3. Click on the available content tab.
4. Make believe you are going to buy something, I chose Warden's Keep.
5. It will ask you to log in. Put your PW and whatever in.
6. It will tell you that you already own the content!
7. The unauthorized tags are now gone!!
I think this has something to do with the Authentication servers not updating. Trying to buy something forces an update.

I'm not having any luck with any of the fixes posted so far.
When I bought DAO Ultimate I was issued two keys. a CD key and DLC key. Well I get a message that my DLC key is not recognized when I attempt to register it on the redeem key page.
Ughhhh. It's not enough that I have already bought DAO and Awakenings. Now I have another legal copy and I can't play because of this ridiculous key nightmare.
I sent a support ticket to Steam about the invalid DLC key but I'm not too confident this problem will be fixed so easily.

From EA they told me:
1.- backup your character
2.- unistall
3.- reinstall
I'll try and tell you. I think the problem is that if you install and log-in the game with the dragon age acount before having validated your DLC's, then the validation didn't work

Well did it work Wolffan?
This is really a mess... I would have bought DA2 day one if it were not for these constant messups with the PC version. My trust that they´ll deliver a stable product from launch is zero.

Which of course takes a lot of time to find, because the DA site link has become an advert for DA2....First, make sure you have entered the CD key and the BioWare site shows all the DLC is authorized to you.
what the frell BioWare? Have you been taken over by... *CYA interrupted transmission*

On this very web page, use the menu on the left. Go to "Profile" > "Your registered game content".

This is a peer support forum, not official EA technical support. There is a solutions round-up thread pinned to the top of this forum with a variety of common problems and their solutions. A beta patch is also pinned to the top of the forum which fixes all DLC authorization issues. It has exacerbated long load times for many, however; which is why it is still in beta. Because of the way Steam handles patches, it cannot be applied to a Steam install, but you can use the CD key that Steam provided you to register for and download the EA digital download version which can use the beta patch. Instructions are in the patch announcement thread.
If you require further assistance, there is a "Read First" thread also pinned to the top of this forum with posting instructions. Most people are able to resolve their authorization issues if they ask for assistance. You can also get official assistance from EA at support.EA.com.
