Hello, first time posting here I believe!
Just a quick question.

I have spent all day trying to find the answer here and via Google but not much luck.

I already know how to use the toolset to create a custom head and then import it however; ( i want to do the opposite)

I would like to know if there is any way that I can take a player character I created in the in game character creator and export/import the face to the toolset?

If that is not possible, is there any way, other than just taking a screen shot and then trying to rebuild it anew in the toolset? (Maybe a way to find out the settings for the face so it is easier to recreate in the toolset?)

Thanks for taking a look at my question and for any wisdom you are willing to part with! Posted Image

No, it's not possible. Screenshots won't do you any good either, as the toolset morph editor uses a completely different set of values and sliders.

Ahhh. That sucks! Posted Image Guess that means a fall back to the old eyeballing screen shots while tweaking a face in the toolset... good thing i'm not in a big hurry Posted Image

Thank you for the quick reply!

This might help:

http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=428

I have imported my character into the toolset, but sadly I've lost the note on how I did it. IIRC there was an easier method that didn't require a community tool.

There are minor differences between the character creator head and the toolset version (the formats are not identical), but not enough to worry about.

That tool extracts and replaces MORs (i.e. compiled GFF morph file). You can't load that in the toolset's morph editor - it only reads MRHs (i.e. XML morph file). Also, it says it can't handle CHR (character creator morph files), so you'd have to import such a head into a game, then save it out. You'd still be stuck with a MOR in that case though.

OK I found what I did.

1. Make a default morph of the correct race and gender in the toolset.
2. Post to local to make a .mor file.
3. Open a save containing the desired head from character creation.
4. Copy all the morph values from the character section.
5. Open the .mor file in the toolset and paste in the values.

I guess NewByPower's tool does something similar.

You can use the .mor file in the toolset to make an NPC, even though you can't edit it.

The OP says "import" not "edit", so hopefully that's what's required?

My take is that the OP wants to physically manipulate the head directly in the morph editor, not simply change a few values of a MOR in the GFF editor.

Proleric1 and DarthParametric, thank you for your help on this!

Proleric1, hmmm, the mor idea might help, will be checking it out and report back.

I do want to manipulate the head, actually want to have it as a mrh so I can alter it if I want to change a few things.

What I want to do is get the head I created when I first started playing to a mrh file, (i believe that is what it is) and if I understand things correctly while a mor file will not transfer back it should allow me to check settings so that I can just create a new head in the toolset and utilize those mor settings resulting in a duplicate (hopefully exact or as close as possible) to the head I created in the character creator.

Any pointers on transfering the morph information? Unless am doing it wrong I seem to be trying to go from a large bunch of hex to different format choices and am not sure I am actually attempting to copy the correct stuff.
