That's a lot of money to have to spend....

You can go a step lower and get a GTS 450 or AMD 5770. Both of those are DX11 and can be found for around $100 - $130 or so.

Oh btw did anyone do the quest where you go see the Flotsam town "sheriff" and leave your weapons at the door of he's compound? It was a cool little quest, except that I forgot to take my gear back after leaving late at night. I rummaged through some loot for a bit before I was jumped by three bounty hunters. Noticed I had no weapons on my back and frantically started sorting through my new loot hoping to find at least a rusty dagger. Found something I didn't expect in there, a shovel. I think it was 8-12 damage and comical enough, may try a broom next.

There should be a chest outside the compound(near those two guards) with all your weapons in it.

Yes I think I just clicked the guard and got it back, I simply forgot to take the gear back after leaving, however it ended up to be a fun little move.

What two guards? I can't find my gear anywhere. :(

Its right against the wall behind the one guard. Chest right there, where you went to meet FLotsoms ruler.

When you leave through the gate, there are two guards.  On your right (behind the guard next to the wall) there is a chest on the ground full of your stuff. It was night when I did it, I only noticed it because I was trying to find a way to kill the bastard for taking my stuff, and happened to notice the item pickup icon flash on my screen so just keep moving in the area until I could lock on it.    It isn't terribly obvious, but the stuff should stay there a bit ;)

Niiiiice!

And what is the deal with NVIDIA drivers not working well for some recent games and then AMD drivers crapping out on others?

Didn't NVIDIA owners have a lot of problems with DA2?

Does this have something to do with PhysX or tessellation or something?

The GTX 590 does extremely well in Civilization V as we’d expect, along with DIRT 2, Mass Effect 2, and HAWX. Meanwhile in Crysis, BattleForge, and especially STALKER the GTX 590 comes up very short.

For those of you who have been adjusting the graphics settings, if you disable ubersampling, is it possible to adjust Anisotropic Filtering individually? (for example 16 x AF, 2 x AA)

Tweet was over a day ago on the lack of a proper crossfire profile. People with high end rigs (like me...) trying to run with ubersampling on are failing and playing 10-20fps.

I got my gear back simply by taking the boat now, actually.

Or do you mean the guards on the boat? :P

Well, anyway I got it back regardless

I didn't see an option to adjust different levels of AA, been playing it to much to really play with the settings lol.

You know what I love about TW2? Its tutorial is basically "Well first we'll.. - You know what? You guys are smart enough, you can figure it out" instead of holding your hand through it.

Yes! Not to mention that it actually serves a narrative purpose, unlike Button = AWESOME!

So how is The Witcher 2? Is it amazing, great, good, average, bad or horrible? Is it better than Dragon Age 2? If so, by how much is it better?

I suppose there isn't a demo of the game anywhere, to test how badly this would kill my rig?

Great, it's better than DA2(IMO), DA2's a 6/10, while TW2's a 9/10

Witcher 2...

I'd given Dragon Age 2 a rank of 6/10, I'd probably give Witcher 2 a 9/10 like Ali did. For reference I'd give Origins a 8 or 8.5/10. Same with New Vegas.

I'm about 10+ hours into the game, beat the first monster boss in chapter 1 on normal. but to be honest, I feel this game as disappointed as DA2, the combat style is too limited, nothing like the first witcher game. you can not even use group sword style and drink potions while in combat, most time I am just hacking and slashing my way out plus keeping rolling around. Maybe I should try higher difficulty , but I really dont like to die too often :( Triss is very hot though

I'm in Act II now and it's still bloody BRILLIANT.

Better than DAII? Yes, it's bloody epic. (Even though I'm not as connected to Geralt as to my Lady Hawke) I love 'em equally though. Better than DAO? Yes. Definitely better than DAO.
