TW2 looks good looks wise, saddly I have no PS3, or think my PC can take it, but a good game is more than looks, I've seen a crapload of shooters that Goldeneye 64 would put in the ground had it been released alongside them with updated looks.

Nope. It's a standalone game.

The books are good though, and it would be worth your while to familairize yourself with some of the lore.

True. In few years time the graphics, of that game will
not be paricularly impressive. The art design however is timless.
I really think this
will make its mark on the history of gaming.

Speaking of the armour. I belive they are using actual coats
of arms.
The royal Arms of England ( 3 lions) the polish one
(eagle) and I’m not sure what the third one is ( the Temerian 3 crosess) any
ideas?

The game somehow manages to look completely beautiful and ugly at the same time. The graphics do a beautiful job at displaying an ugly, gritty looking dark age/fantasy setting.

As an interesting side note, I did some research.

Apparently the first Witcher was made with the budget of 27 mln. PLN (proximately 9 mln US $) and made a profit of 9 mln PLN (3 mln $) TW budget is estimated at 30 mln PLN (10 mln $) and the sales are estimate to be 30% higher then for TW1.
