What happens if you sell your formulas? Can you sell them? It would be nice to have them gone whenever I browse the ALL tab in my inventory.

You can sell them but for some reason Geralt can't learn them so you have to keep the formulas' designs etc with you at all time. Hopefully CDProjekt decides to patch this and add a place to stash like with an Innkeeper again.

Ahhh i see, in that case I guess I'll have to avoid my ALL tab for a bit (I really hope this doesn't add so much weight at the end game). Hopefully they will have a patch to fix this.

Can't Witcher 2 be judged by it's own merits?

Can't DA2?

It is. People hate it.
*Snip*

It hardly ever is.

Some hate it, some love it. Same as any other game.

And looking at the TW2 boards among others, not everyone is as over the top excited with TWII (Broken Launch, promised patch not arriving, DLC not downloading, Lag, bugs, performance issues, crashing servers, roll&slash combat system etc.) as the DAII bashers who are using TWII to bash DAII/Bioware further.

Now I love TWII to bits. But this constant "My dolly (TW2) is prettier than your dolly (DAII)!" is just juvenile and unnecessary.

It launched just one day ago... some complaints are a given.

It's not juvenile at all, unless you use juvenile insults to make your case like me. Then yes, it's juvenile. But quality products, if the Witcher 2 is one, deserve to be recognized while the inexplicable stinkers need to be addressed appropriately: with flames.

That last part wasn't all too serious.

First of all, apologies to anyone experiencing trouble getting the game to work. I'm aware it's full of bugs and what not.

All i'm gonna say is be patient, when you do get it fixed, you will be rewarded with an excellent game.

The only bug i ran into was the DLC repeatedly downloading, otherwise it installed fine, and it runs very smooth on High settings for me. (Intel 4-core 3.0, 8gbram, gtx295)

I've just made it to act 2. I won't give any spoilers, but this is one of the best games i've ever played, let alone RPG. The combat definetly took some getting used to, but after you learn the ins and outs, it's very responsive, tactical, and very entertaining. The story, at least up to this point, has been well excecuted, and as anyone can tell from screenshots they saw, the graphics are beyond beautiful.

There's a few qualms though, it certainly isn't perfect. The inventory can be a strain to sort through at times, and the quests and item associated with quests are sometimes not entirely accurate in there description.

I hope those who still can't play get it fixed soon. The launch could've certainly gone smoother, and some of these bugs in my eyes should clearly have been tested well prior to launch.

For the bits that are working though, it's been awesome. Haven't enjoyed a game this much since the first ME2 playthrough.

Just my opinion of course...

Don't have a problem with the inventory, except the fact that it has no 'junk' section.

So far I've had no issues with the game. Install was a breeze, DLC download a breeze, game runs great on Ultra settings at 1920x1200. I'm running an original i7-965 at 3.6Ghz, 6GB of RAM, Nvidia 580GTX, and Asus Xonar DX sound under Win7 64-bit. Turned off all the blurry crap (motion blur, depth of field, etc.) in video options and set LOD to far. Very smooth FPS.

Haven't played it much yet since I just got it today and was playing with the settings. Look forward to playing it a lot this weekend.

Oh and I imported a save from my freshly completed Witcher run and noted a few things:

- Raven Armor and Aerondight silver sword were imported, but not G'Valchir steel sword. Might have imported some of my vast wealth too because I started with over 93,000 oren. Too early to tell which gameplay decisions were imported. However, since the import tool accepts any save from the Ice Plains forward, it seems the decision regarding the Hunt and Alderburg's soul doesn't matter to TW2.

Edit: my copy is a CE from Amazon. PC-DVD.

No issues here as well. Gog version seems to be the safest one. Can't wait to play it again but I'll be stuck at work for the next few days ;(

I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I hate the gameplay in this game. The combat system and the gods-damned quick time events. Whose idea was that?

Ugh. Not having fun yet. Maybe I'll make it out of the tutorial eventually.

Love: Graphics, script, overall maturity, gameplay, atmosphere, Triss :D, the actual books.

Hate: Some cheap combat moments, inventory, some optimization issues.

Rating so far: 9.2/10

Other thoughts: BioWare really lost this fight.

I thought you had a PC, Dave.

Water cooling spilled, motherboard is fried and the warranty doesn't cover it. No money to cover everything, saving it all up for college at the moment.

Do you have a physical copy that isn't working or what?

Physical copy, yeah. Installs fine until it asks for my activation code, it refuses to accept it. I've contacted both CDP and Securom, they've been sending me on a goose chase to "fix" it.

Reading the community, I'm not the only one who suffers from this problem and it's mostly people with physical copies suffering from it. Though Steam also seems to suffer the same problem.

Hey don't know if this'll help or not, but I had a similar problem when I was installing my copy. It would always be in the activation stage and then i'd get an Error Window and it would shut down. What I found to work is if you install it somewhere other than your Program Files folder. I just stuck it in the primary C-Drive folder, myself. After that it worked fine, no problem.

Just started Chapter 2 and am loving it so far, even the times when I'm getting my ass handed to me (Which is most times).

Ah, my lovely Triss...

Resolution?

But I'm thinking HD 6870 or GTX 560 would be able to handle anything. Maybe HD 6950 if you're into tweaking and wanna unlock the extra shaders for HD 6970 performance.

You started with 93,000 Orens????  I had Raven, Arvall and Aerondight... game switched my Arvall for D'yaebl which I had on the secondary weapon slots. But I did not get all that money... not even 1% of that and I was pretty rich  in TW1! =)

You might enjoy it when you get to Flotsam. The tutorial is good but I wouldn't like to play it a dozen times.
