Interesing that "fixes" is your verb of choice, in that you must believe the behavior of the game in regards to quicksaves is broken. It worked the same way in the first game, and was never changed despite the continuous improvements made by CDP including going so far as to redo the animations and alternate localization translations and voiceovers, of which English was one. I am not saying your opinion is wrong or you're a bad person for not appreciating your Windows user directory filling up with quicksaves, but I think you may be waiting a long time for CDP to "fix" this, as they probably believe it's working as intended.Alistairlover94 wrote...

@nepp: Kayran armor FTW! It loos badass!
There is something really REWARDING in crafting such kickass armor after such an epic fight. Really feeling like I EARNED it, not just getting it because I have the cash.
Oh gawd yes! I'm just waiting for CDP Red to release a patch that fixes the quick-save stacking instead of overwrititng.
I know that. And I hate it in TW1, too! It eats up space.

If they release a demo, I'll try it out and see if I enjoy it but I think Dark Souls will be RPG of the year for me because the enemies look great, it's going to be challenging, there's many classes to make and form and you just don't know what's going to be around the corner.

You drag your mouse left and right. The amber colored bar will drift left and right, and over time, shrink. The mouse controls the circle that slides across the amber bar. Keep the circle centered on the bar and when the bar disappears, you win. The controls are very touchy, making it difficult to varying degrees depending on how fast the bar moves.CoS Sarah Jinstar wrote...

QTE are basically for fist fighting minigames. The Prologue uses it smartly. Ca't say about the rest of the game but it is indeed fun and breaks the tension of the very concentration demanding combat. Just focus your view in one point of the screen and the AWSD QTE input flows naturally. Great reflex is not even required.

It feels like there should be another chapter, especially since the previous one ends with a character arranging you to meet up later on in a specific town.
And for the record, I'd have been mid-80s on DA2. The Witcher 2 is much better.

It is. It's much better. There are specific reasons why it didn't break 90, but none of them stop it being an excellent game - albeit one with some nasty issues.
Speaking of QTE's, how the heck does the arm wresting thing work? I have a quest to beat 4 people I think in Flotsem? Have no idea what to do. I actually think I may pick up the strategy guide on my way home from work today. Still not to sure I know what things mean, and what I'm doing, but even still I'm having a ton of fun so that's a good thing.

Funny you should say that because the combat in Witcher 2 is very similar to that of Demon's Souls.

So that's what the combat kept reminding me of! Hats off to CDP Red for taking inspiration from Demon's Souls.

I was about to type that.. Even one of the CDP guys said that they took inspiration from Demon Souls and Batman AA
Btw, the kayran armour is awesome.. I am eyeing some dragon armor, but the diagram I think costs close to 2000 orens.

so can someone tell me if The Witcher 2 is worth it?
How are the load times and bugs? And anything else that's noteworthy and of course no spoilers pls!
Thanks in advance ! I might pick it up later today depending on the answers I recieve
it's way better than DA2, the load times are almost non-existant on a simple 7200rpm drive, the combat is refreshing and challenging (except on easy which is too easy). The graphics are phenominal but needing optimization and patches to work better on lower end and higher end machines though you can still get a playable fps out of it (playable in my case being a soft minimum of 30fps and hard minimum of 20fps)
There's a bunch of niggling complaints i have that don't make the game terrible yet and are possible they'll be patched out.

You're welcome. Go easy with the mouse. When I say it's touchy, I mean it's like really touchy. You'll barely be moving it; one good swipe of the mouse and your match will probably be lost.
Good to know. Will try and remember that when I get home. Having just checked EBGame's site I don't see a strat guide. Kinda odd for this type of title.

This game doesn't hold your hand and teach you how to play. The prologue is basically to get you used to everything. They figure people are smart enough to figure it out

Possibly, I really don't want hand holding, I like figuring stuff out, and enjoy the challege TW2 offers, a little point in the right direction though I'd be fine with.

Ok I'm getting my rear kicked at the moment by one of the two bug queens you kill in a Flotsam contract. Maybe I'm to low of a level for this. I destroyed the pods to lure her in, set up 3 fire traps, 6-7 regular traps, used potions(damage and health regen) and arachnid oil on my sword before the battle and still getting a smack down, level 7 atm. So to low level or is there some strategy I'm missing?
Use the Yrden sign to trap then flank.

Okay, fine. I'm just saying, I've actually played all the games in question and it's so similar to Demon's Souls that writing it off as an AC derivative--while in the same breath saying you highly anticipate Dark Souls--seems to me a bit absurd.Elton John is dead wrote...
