We would like to inform you that our server infrastructure is fully functional. At the same time we are still working on further improving it. Our target is to have it absolutely bullet proof very soon.

Right now, we are also doing everything we can to resolve the current issues. We increased the size of our tech support team to nearly 20 people, but despite this, we still have some unanswered e-mails. The game is selling faster than anyone expected – right now, hundreds of thousands of people across the globe are already playing The Witcher 2! So please excuse us as if we are a little overwhelmed by your requests, but we do intend to reply to all your e-mails as quickly as possible.

Moreover, we are about to finish work on a patch that will address some common issues like mouse inversion and key mapping as well as many others. It will be ready next week!

In the meantime, if you are still experiencing problems and would like to discuss them publicly, please do so as comments to this news post. Our team will be answering your questions here.

In the name of the whole team, we apologize from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who cannot enjoy the game as intended. We promise that we will keep on working to make everything absolutely perfect! Watch for more news coming soon.

They haven't released a demo yet. No demo, no buy. My concerns must be addressed, I must see if The Witcher 2 is more enjoyable than the first before I buy.

That's not my point, I don't care if you play the game or not. I'm trying to point out how ridiculous it is to tell someone who has played the game, what the game plays like when you yourself have not played it.

I said it looked like Assassin's Creed combat which I didn't like. Reviewers have even said that. If you think it plays like Demon's Souls. Fair enough but I don't see anyone getting killed easily.

I was just about to post the same thing, with a note along the lines of "hey Bioware, this is how you support a game and keep the fanbase in the loop" Good find neppakyo!

Dragon Age Origins and Mass  Effect 1 didn't have a demo. Mass Effect 2 didn't have a demo until like 6 months after release.

Don't play it if you have this image of what you think Witcher 2 is your going to be dissapointed when you find out it's a good game.

After The Witcher 1, I can't move onto the sequel without playing a demo. I didn't enjoy the first you see.

How is Witcher anything like Assassin's Creed though? You have swords and that's it well other weapons too but they function the same. We're not climbing buildings or sneaking up on people and stabbing them, we aren't running from guards.

I just don't get the comparison.

I shelved the first game more than once because I hated the combat model. This game however, while it does have a learning curve. Once you get past it, its truly a fabulous and amazing game. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah CoS, I'd imagine some very long days ahead for everyone there, its nice to be updated and know they're addressing things.

"The game is selling faster than anyone expected" Like another said, they didn't expect the game to sell so fast, and it seems the servers got pretty much flooded.

For sure, its the humble approach they take that impresses me though. along the lines of "hey we know there's some bugs, we will fix them as fast as we can!"  And at the same time keeping the fanbase updated and in the loop. It's refreshing to see a developer really put forth honest care for the fanbase.

Trolling? Yep sure. You don't even know the meaning of that word. One of your witcher fan boy friends referred me to this thread to discuss The Witcher 2. They told me not to post a new thread about The Witcher 2. So I come here and I discuss my views about The Witcher 2 and now I'm suddenly called a troll?

F*ck this. I'm gone from this thread then. I'll leave you fan boys to praise The Witcher 2. I really don't have time for these arguments like you do. I wasn't even bashing it, just giving my opinion.

/Done with this sh*t.

To be honest, I think if we still had the old Bioware in this modern internet time, they would probably have a similar stance. It's just that they are chained up tight by large corporate shackles now. I've seen it with any studio operating under big publishers.

I hope to god CDPR won't let themselves be bought out by EA for that will be their death sentence.

The sword fighting is similar to Assassin's Creed, the quick GUI is similar, but that's about it. I don't hate it but I don't love it either.

It did go through some of the same "dumbing down" things like DA2, with the removal of the iso-cam and multiple camera angles, and a lot of the stuff has been simplified, so it looks like it will transition well to the consoles. In fact I prefer playing this on the X360 controller vs KB/MO.

That said, the reason the game is being praised is because of the characters, art, story, and beautiful locals.

Dumbing down was the least of DA2s problems as a game. The problem is it lacked the character and inspiration of the first.

I already said upthread that I hated it. It's awkward and the controls seem unresponsive. Nothing is explained. The UI is ugly and unintuitive. Geralt dies every time someone looks at him sideways.

Never thought I'd be nostalgic for TW1 combat.

Let me give you a hint. TW2 use action game combat style, as in you better learn to avoid stuff if you want to live and not enter combat head on.

There is a reason I don't play action games.  But what you're saying is basically repeated in other forums I've glanced at- there are certain people who hate it and many who love it.  I don't begrudge anyone who's actually enjoying the game.  Just wish I had saved my money, because I probably would have been more cautious if I'd read some of these actual player reviews and seen that the combat changes likely were going to make it a game I would not enjoy.

To be fair, Bio's been like that even before being aquired by EA, being snarky towards fans, quiet about things like delayed DLC with no reason given etc etc.  It's not exactly a new thing with them really.

AC and AC2 you just hold block and take one enemy at a time with counters. Try that in TW2 and you'll be breaking your DVD in anger and disappointment unless you're willing to learn. TW2 plays much more like Gothic than AC. Some poor reviewers who never played Gothic might think of AC2 but only if they play in Casual. Normal diff has enough punishiment for unexperience and stupidity. Insane diff, well, that's just the definition of Hardcore. Die and game over!

TW2 requires the usage of all skills, talents, traps, and bombs that you can have. Trying to beat the game with sword and blocking only will not work at all. Tell me how that is nearly the vicinity of being close to AC games!

So why are you posting it here? As opposed to, say, the TW2 forums where a CDPR dev might actually read it.

Great list, Gvaz. A few points there doesn't bother me but 95% of it is what I wanted too! Post it here, post it as comments on TW2 website, latest post in the community tab, post it on GoG please (CDP owned company and they have close and fast communication)

Wait... you're telling me that CD Projekt "we-totally-listen-to-everything-our-fans-say" Red don't actually have a forum for people to provide feedback? Doesn't that strike anyone else as a bit odd?

Ok I'm getting my rear kicked at the moment by one of the two bug queens you kill in a Flotsam contract. Maybe I'm to low of a level for this. I destroyed the pods to lure her in, set up 3 fire traps, 6-7 regular traps, used potions(damage and health regen) and arachnid oil on my sword before the battle and still getting a smack down, level 7 atm. So to low level or is there some strategy I'm missing?

Use the Yrden sign to trap then flank.

Also, gather all the snare traps around that forest and arm them around the last cocoon before you brign the Queen into play. That will make her suffer a good deal of damage and perhaps even freeze so you can attack from behind, only vulnerable spot she has. If you drink a Peltri's potion to increse sign power, the Yird (?) sign (the traps sign) is more likely to free that biatch!

Normal diff, a few reloads needed for me for each queen. I can't possibly imagine me surviving Insane without a few more playthroughs and I'm taking my time with the first one so I'll be playing this game for a loooong time! Gladly!
