So.....I finished Act III just now.

I am UTTERLY blown away. I detest hyperbole....but this is the VERY best RPG I have EVER played. And the Replay value (With imports to add sweetness) is GIGANTIC. Tomorrow I'll import my Shani/Pro non human save and start again. I am sure I missed a lot as well. Nothing like ten more playthroughs to gather all the details....  If anyone were to ask me about the perfect RPG...I'd not name the BG Series, not the M&M Series, not Morrowind, not DAII .....but TW2.

Sorry about the fangirling. I just had to share.:wub::wub:

Wow, that good huh?

Thanks for sharing though. I'd much rather trust the opinion of a player who's gone through it rather than a reviewer.

Yep, that good. The DA series seems just so...insignificant atm. (I still adore it, mind you...but...) As far as unimportant me is concerned, TW2 not only won me over (I was skeptical at first) but completely captured my RPG soul like no other game before has. My Lady Hawke's story still touched me on a more personal level...but TW2's storytelling, the choices, the stunning level design and art, the RPG elements.......CDPR delivered and then some. Cannot wait for DLC, espansions and TW3. (Take your time though, CDPR, don't get lost in the shuffle now!)

To be honest, I think if we still had the old Bioware in this modern internet time, they would probably have a similar stance. It's just that they are chained up tight by large corporate shackles now. I've seen it with any studio operating under big publishers.

I hope to god CDPR won't let themselves be bought out by EA for that will be their death sentence.

To be fair, Bio's been like that even before being aquired by EA, being snarky towards fans, quiet about things like delayed DLC with no reason given etc etc.  It's not exactly a new thing with them really.

Since NWN.Wish the Big Tuna hadn't left.

Alright so I've barely been able to play for any prolonged period of time over the past couple days, but I've been reading from people who have finished and it seems almost unanimous that Chapter 3/epilogue is seriously a super huge, massive letdown that really, really stinks up what is an otherwise fantastic game. This is disappointing as I thought TW1 had a nice ending while still teasing at more.

Guess I'll find out eventually....

Not to me. The ending I got was utterly mesmerizing, offering closure and making me hunger for more all at the same time.<3

Oh you just like it so much because of the hot steamy love scenes I bet :), now does the ending imply there will be another chapter?

Not sure about the ending they experienced, but the one I got most definitely implies something big is coming later on.

As did mine. And the love scenes...were amazing indeed. Strangely enough the one with Triss in the Elven Gardens isn't my favorite........

I actually ended up skipping all of the romance opportunities on my first playthrough, except Triss (wasn't sure if that might have an effect on the relationship later on). Just started my second playthrough, and I'm planning to have Geralt sleep around with everybody on this one.

It's pretty incredible, my second playthrough so far (only just finished the prologue) is every bit as exciting as my first was. This game really is something special.

I have one major complaint about this otherwise awesome game and it concerns the inventory.

When I see a list I want to be able to sort by column. And how do you easily find junk category items? I have to scroll through the entire "All" category to find the junk items! Gah.

Good thing today's Friday. I've been playing relatively light (still in Flotsam, only have done a handful of minor quests) over the week and was very impressed with what I've seen. But I was worried that the entire game wouldn't continue on with these standards, especially with what I've read about how the ending is underwhelming. But if the staunchest Dragon Age 2 fangirl on the forums (:P) declares Witcher 2 to be the best RPG ever, now I think I can safely dump my weekend into this game.

Hehehehehe. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did and do. I have no problem to admit that TW2 surpasses DAII in many ways. Praise where praise is due. Doesn't make me love DAII any less. But IMO TW2 is the kind of RPG masterpiece that only comes along once or twice every decade if we're lucky.

I'm on the verge of killing myself right now. First of all, I didn't know I had to keep the formulas and I'm almost without potions to do, even swallows. Then I discovered it after I closed the potions shopping, so I've got no way of get them back now and I suppose I have to keep something for the boss. I have a few of them and I can't get passed the cavern with 1000 nekkers which I can't kill them myself because they kill me with a few hits. God ****in' dammit.

Good to hear your opinion Persephone, as it is one I respect and value. Now I am even more excited to continue my play through. Which I would be doing right now, but I am too busy :(

I'll be curious to see how different the game would be depending on what we import.

Well, I'm finally in Flotsam. It's just gorgeous. Can't wait to see the day/night cycle in action. I like the way they structured the prologue.

Is it just me or is Geralt's Polish voice actor responsible for a whole bunch of characters, including The Kingslayer?

My favorite "plough".  (A little spoiler)

I'm about halfway through ACT II.  I'm loving every second of it so far.

This game could redefine action RPGs in the same way Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape Torment set high water marks for CRPGs that were never surpassed. It's amazing.

And the soundtrack! My god. To think it was done by two guys in a studio, with a few vocalists and guest musicians. Unbelievable.

Both TW and TW2 IMO have some of the best overall OST's in video game history.  They're so extremely unique, and fitting to the game.  I think that it must be the European influence.\\

Just goes to show that you don't need an orchestra and Hans Zimmer to make a game soundtrack work (as some companies seem to think...)

How do you use lures effectively? I'm doing Meletile's Heart quest and I need an Arachas eye to complete it and bought a couple of lures. Set them ran around, meditated harvest herbs yet still haven't seen any Arachas.

Best song is Wild Hunt
