Hey, thanks for playing 'that' card. We never hear that around here.
Yeah, never. I am watching my hubby's playthrough and I haven't seen anything that doesn't fit with a medieval setting, nor that is truly exploitive. Any sex has been natural and in the right time and place. How about you slim?
Haven't had any encounters yet. The first prostitute I walked up to told me to buzz off, lol.

I love Iorveth's english voice actor. I'm a straight male, but hearing him shout, get angry, well just generally speaking makes the ol' walnut sack tingle a bit.
Man I miss the old VO for the Kingslayer, Iorweth and Zoltan. Zoltan especially...he doesn't sound like the fun dwarf I knew from Witcher 1!

Screw high spec, ultra eye candy is what it's all about.
What model GTX 460 do you have? With a little TLC, you could probably get it running at 900 Mhz. Some really good ones get to 950mhz-1Ghz, but that's unlikely on a normal card.

Oh I got through and got some other formulas to compensate. I've got some high emotions on this game. From uber happiness to frustration, then happiness again.RageGT wrote...

I'm on the verge of killing myself right now. First of all, I didn't know I had to keep the formulas and I'm almost without potions to do, even swallows. Then I discovered it after I closed the potions shopping, so I've got no way of get them back now and I suppose I have to keep something for the boss. I have a few of them and I can't get passed the cavern with 1000 nekkers which I can't kill them myself because they kill me with a few hits. God ****in' dammit.
Reload an earlier save or* suffer the consequences! And it's not hard to acquire formulas, ingredients and brew the potions again. Reduce diff it it seems impossible. First playthrough, must learn for next runs! hehe
I just got from Loberdo's house and my god what a game.
Now, can someone tell me how to close the nekkers's caves?

I know what you mean, I always know that I'm playing a quality game when my wife can't stop watching me play it. She's been drooling over TW2 even more than she did Portal 2, and she absolutely loved that game.
OH I am drooling so bad! *wipes hubby's shoulder with a towel*
@Liquiegrape, okay that card thing may have been a cheap shot, but it made me giggle all the same.

Persie, what level was Geralt at your ending? =)
Fancy that, treating players like adults...who'da thunk it. I love DA, but sometimes I feel like the M for Mature really isn't. Some parts seem written by giggling school girls for giggling school girls. TW2 M for Mature has been just that. It hasn't been porn at all.
Well, my issue with the sexual content in W2 isn't that it is explicit. In fact, think interactive media in general should embrace sexual themes more widely, seeing as it is such a natural element in storytelling. This dilly-dallying around the issue makes us all appear more infantile than we really are, and it's a disservice we shouldn't stand for!
What I do not think one should embrace, however, is pandering.
I realise this is an interpretation which is up for grabs, but I cannot see the erotic cutscenes of W2 as anything but moist appeasement.
They were wise enough to remove the whole card collection business, however. I think that should be noted, and the developers should be commended for it. That mechanic was simply put the most laughable display in male self-gratification I've ever seen in a roleplaying game.

ROFL!!! Oh snap! Hubby tried to bribe one to distract someone (no spoilers) she told him she wouldn't show him a ****** for the amount he offered. SNORT! Tell me that isn't power.

OH, I think I understand what you mean. They took out the stupid card set which was juvenile in my eyes too. Very young male appeasement. Hmm I haven't seen too many cut aways for sex scenes yet. Hubby must not be being enough of a player. And it isnt' because of me.

It's better, but then again, how could it not be? That "bath" scene is among one of the worst I have ever seen in a highly-lauded game, and don't mistake that for hyperbole.RageGT wrote...

Try this one?
Are there any better clips of Geralt, specificially? The other scene taking place in the first video (I couldn't really tell what was going on, but you know the one) was fine: the voice acting was fine, the dialog was fine. It was just Geralt that was terrible, but that's obviously not a good thing. If anything, it should be the other way around.
The assassin in that scene was rather silly looking, though, like something out of Gears of War. If he's a prominent character, that could be another (albeit smaller) problem.
If I have to play a pre-defined character, he should at least be animated and poised.

Lol, I know what you're talking about. You can get around it though by <spoiler>doing her a favour and arm wrestling some of the soldiers<spoiler>
I was really surprised they put it into the game. Like it wasn't fully explicit or anything, but umm. Well, play through the scene. I was expecting them to leave and go somewhere else but... yeah, play through it.

His appearance is quite remarkable to all the characters in the game as well--they think he's entirely abnormal also. I'm not far enough along in the game to really learn much more about him, though; he pretty much remains on the peripheral through most of chapter 1 it seems. Characters just talk about him, you don't really see him doing anything though it is made quite clear that he's up to something.Maverick827 wrote...

The game is gritty and coarse. Lots of very earthy and common-folk coarse language. It is a bit ... not shocking, that is the wrong word...but "obvious" from the sterile land we usually roam in North American video games where the sex and language is used for pure titilation factor and featured more widely in advertising meant to get you to buy the game than as a background of normalcy IN a game....but it fits. And I LOVE the stupid brawling mini-game. How easy is it? (Hint: It's really easy) But it is fun
If you prefer the sterile scrubbed environment of a prince's royal nursery where the reality and dirt of everyday life is removed so everything is clean and immaculate.... TW2 is not your game. They talk a lot of dirt, people like sex (even if you don't see it sold to you...well, unless you can convince the ones who let you pay - heck, even they aren't that easy lol) and they swear....a great deal.
Still, it fits. If I disembowel someone and then say "drat" when stabbed in the head, it would seem a bit....off. Geralt does have some funny language though. Instead of swearing, he once said " I have had enough of your malarkey." LOL Now THAT was unexpected
And I would pay money to have the resonance of the original Iorveth's voice back. That was enough to almost provoke an indecent act. Almost.

Hmm.. fair enough. I know the standard clock is at 675 Mhz, but I've seen people overclock their GTX 460 core clocks past 900mhz. Probably requires watercooling or non reference model+cooler though.

Well of course DA2 can't. I'm rather more curious to see what Bioware is going to take away from this; ME3 is probably more or less feature complete and ironed out, especially the writing. I wonder how they are going to respond to Witcher 2 and Skyrim. Since ME2 it has seemed to me Bioware's standards have dropped and keep dropping. They've had no competition for too long and have become complacent, lazy, ran out of ideas and don't really seem to even care. With the complete thrashing they've gotten from CDPR (and not just compared to DA2, but DAO/ME2/KotOR/Jade Empire as well) and the inevitable failure that will be TOR I think Bioware are about done for. It would be great to see them dissolve, or at least all their talented staff leave EA and reform a new studio where they can work under their own timelines again, making the games they want to make--not what corporate suits demand.Monica83 wrote...

What is an inane assumption about the turn-around time between DAO and DA2 being less than 2 years? And TOR? Have you paid any attention to the MMO landscape for the last few years? It's not fertile ground, my friend. Sinking 100+ million dollars into developing a fully voiced, single-player-with-NPC-companions MMORPG is what qualifies as A Bad Idea. It will not be the success they need it to be--it just won't. Look at every other MMO in existence that isn't WoW. None of them put up the kind of long-term sustainable numbers that TOR will need to survive.Maverick827 wrote...

Also the notion that they start their own studio to free themselves from corporate shackles or whatever to usher in good RPGs or w/e. That's not what really happens, because we've seen it before.
In the case of Troika, it destroyed them.
In the case of Obsidian, their balls have perpetually been caught in the vice of publishers ever since they left Interplay.
