Here's hoping for Thief 4 at E3!
Quick question. Does anyone use daggers? I bought the skill and now regret it. I don't find myself using it at all on Hard mode.
the throwing dagger skill? I have used it a few times, does some good damage. It's not something I use regulary though.
I guess I wasted a talent points. I hope CDProjekt considers releasing a respec potion or something and adding it ingame. I do not find myself using it at all I prefer sticking to bombs and selling daggers.

Without giving anything away, there's a quest in Chapter 3 that allows you to respec your skills.

As far as I know, yep. I may have missed something that would allow you to do it again, but from what I could tell it's a one time thing.

So, not too many people like me enjoy figuring out things without being told? This is one thing I love about TW2. Just throws you right in. I really like the combat, so much more enjoyable than DA2.

Yeah, I kinda get that vibe too.
I'm kinda in the middle Neppa, I enjoy the challenge of figuring things out, but in the same sense I hate not having any sort of clue as to what to do. But as I get more confortable with the game mechanics and how things work, I'm having an easier time the more I figure things out. So I guess it balances out in the end.

Read on the wiki you have to find Triss. But she ported away ever since I talked to Cedric and I've got no idea where she is now. I'm either stupid for not being able to find her, I'll find her when I make some progress on the Kayran or the game bugged out on me. Lol.
Lol. Another choice with consequences. Drinking with the Blue Stripes.
NEVER AGAIN.

@MassFrost thanks for telling me
I enjoy the being thrown into a game and being figuring how to do stuff. Has anyone played Eve Online? I'm not expert but damn did that game expect you to be smart and it's very enjoyable and probably the most hard core mmo.

Anyways, I ran to a bit of a problem in chapter 1
The Indecent Proposal quest where Vernon Roche distracts a guard so you could sneak behind the build to spy and well I knocked out the first guard and the second who is taking a ****** always turns arounds and catches me.
Anyones knows what to do here?
Read the Journal, sneak/knock down the remaining guards, read the journal! Dandelion knows it all.

But have a LOT of roleplay elements.. Choices that have an huge impact on a well writed and awesome story with great characters and very very well designed areas and animatios..
The characters may be great, but they are fixed protagonists, with their own backstories, and in part you don't learn about them through play. So I think, in this case, the Bioware formula beats them on that front. The characters are fleshed out but then so are the main characters of any AAA title, like AC2-Brotherhood.
And I'm surprised people aren't noticing the flaws--I'm starting to see the head repitition again--I've seen three character in act one with that same headgear and glasses, so it's getting a bit distracting. (Don't call attention to that sort of thing--if you make a character look too distinctive, repeating that distinction is going to cause problems).
It's a great game. But I'm pointing out that there are a lot of things people companied about DA2 doing, and I don't think just having some better cutscenes and a better engine gives you a total pass from objective criticism.
It's a great effort, but TW2 needs to be a better game, so I can't give it more than a B+ right now, though I'll have to see if Act 2 or 3 changes my mind.
LOLOLOL... You broke up the Beatles! I'd suggest you switch difficulty from Easy to Insane, die and get over with it!

BTW, the "chioce-consequence" system of TW2 is unbelivable. I'm now on my second walkthrough of the game with an entirly different set of missions/companies(some) in chapter 2 based on my chioce in chapter 1.

Think my question at this point, is there an order you're supposed to do the Flotsam quests? I have so many I almost don't know where to start, though I did manage to destroy 2 of 4 nest for one of the monster quests, ran out of appropiate bombs and they're kinda on the expensive side. Did some arm wrestling for some money, (love how the mini games work btw, really interactive even if they're QTE's. They feel "right" if that makes sense"
No order at all. And indeed, We can do some quests partially, do others, go back and finish those we left open, etc. I just left the Kayran for the end because I assumed I needed to be at my best to face it, meanign as high level as I could be. (It was much much easier than I expected from reading all the complaints about it.. and enjoyable too!)
BTW. BIG SPOILER here.

I certainly agree, and I personally need to spend more time in this secton of the journal. I was toying with the idea of just starting over since I'm not far in, and picked some skills early on that I don't use (throwing daggers for one) That and I think I broke a quests (the haunted hospital where it tells you to kill a type of monster after coming across one of the guys who went there, I go to the spot on the map and nothing appears, and if I go down into the dugeon in the same area, the spectors eat my face for breakfast. Granted I may not be using the right oils or enchantments either. So much info to soak in on what works with what type of foe. I love the depth this game has.

Yeah. I had failed many times at that mission but when I beat him I was like, that was it? I don't know why I had so much trouble earlier with it.
Edit: Well one issue was the terrible camera that is in the game, but someone told me in another thread that is going to be fixed.

The enthusiasm for the game is charming, but the responses to someone who has a different view are obnoxious. Superiority complex much? Elton John Is Dead is right on in his criticisms. The fact is that the game suffers from many technical and gameplay issues, poor design and imbalance, and is far more twitchy and actiony than DA2 and has less character customization and yet people are proclaiming it as the Second Coming of the RPG.
Go to gog.com or other game forums and there are threads with people discussing how badly the combat system sucks. I would add to that awkward navigation and the ugly, awkward UI. People criticized the twitch nature of combat in TW1, so they "fix" that by making the new combat system even more twitchy and actiony? And every twenty seconds you're getting interrupted by a cutscene. Reading the manual doesn't help with a poorly designed system, and it doesn't help to have a beautiful world if getting around in it is so maddening.
So, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm glad so many like the game, but I'm uninstalling it. It wouldn't be such a disappointment if DA2 hadn't already been a disappointment, but I'll just be a lot more careful when game developers make a sequel to a game I like and say they're changing it significantly. It's a total waste for us since the spousal unit won't play a game with a fixed character. To him that's not an RPG at all.
Is Skyrim out yet??
Why should you be surprised it has twitch-based combat? I could see that from the first video. I happen to like twitch combat especialy when its combined with some tactical thinking. Yes, the game is hard and people not used to that kind of difficulty are turned off by it. Actiony is not dumbed down, contrary to what many on this site say. The combat is way better than the first. And all the great roleplaying elements are there, great characters, plot threads, C&C, just like the first game
The problems with the game are indeed technical. It has a clunky inventory and is poorly optimized, both of which can be fixed and I hope they are. Also, I don't understand your complaint of 'getting round the world is maddening'
Sorry you don't like it, but if anyone's hopping on her high horse, it's you thinking enthusiasm for the game is charming.
hmmm... first thing... "Elton ...." don't like game because its not have group like in youknowwhatgame and ME ( where CDPR says that they will have group?).... second he not like game because he can't play as mage, paladin etc etc...( hmm where CDPR says that there will be other classes ?)... third technical issues- I have none problems with playing on my mother laptop ( which have 4 years and laptops are not for gaming) on low... four combat... what you expect?... youknowwhatgame type of combat? or maybe something like in ME?... no? soo what? now you prefer combat from first game after 7-8 months of complaining how bad combat in first game is?( I don't say about everyone)...

To those who feel that the game is too hard for you there is already an easy option for you. And for the Nth time because you suxs at the game please don't request CDPR to tone down difficulty because you SUCK at the game. For the first time i have never play such a beautiful game with brilliant combat and it breathes life into gaming.
I can't really believe people refuses to use the EASY settings and then go into forums accusing the game combat suxs when they themselves not admitting that they are bad at it.
So by the LOGIC that i SUCK at shooter games then the shooter games combat must BAD. Also i SUCK at RTS.. they should not MAKE RTS because it's BAD and it so freaking hard.. Damn these people are really getting on my nerves.
/me approves +100!
I used to suck at BF 1942 until I learned. I used to suck at Starcraft 1 until I learned. I used to suck at DA:Origins until I learned. Few games gave me more pleasure in the learning experience than The Witcher 2! Actually, none! Normal became quite easy now but I'll stick to it until the end. When I go Insane is to complete the game without dying once and that's a mighty feat. (anyone done it yet? I don't want to be the first, just one of the few that will never DIE. Dying sucks! L2P rules!
I'm 47, never owned a console in my life, been playing PC games only since good old Diablo 1 back in 1997 (pre-release demo in Dec 96 hooked me) and this is the abso-fraking-lutely BEST PC game I have ever had the pleasure of play. And I've play them all...
1,000 hrs in Oblivion (about the same in MW)
2,000 hrs with DA:Origins (abt 500 with DA2)
about 500 hrs with each ME, 1 & 2
5 years online rp'ing my legendary Elf Archer with NWN in some LotR PW
3 years with Diablo 2 being #1 classic HC ladder until I changed to LoD - 100 Meph runs a day, no bot!
3 years with Diablo 1 ina Legit/Purists guild
Countless hours with the Gothic's 1,2 & 3 and Risen!
Over 10 full completionist runs with The Witcher 1
The Gothics, TW1, DA:O and now TW2 are games that I'll be playing for as long as I can move my hands and have my wits. And TW2 is simply the best ever, atm. Until perhaps CDPR delivers something better... not an easy task!
