TW1 is fairly easy comapred to TW2. Both being on normal settings.

So all those people touting it as a great RPG didn't really like deep, complex RPGs?

Not exactly, I didn't personally like TW1's combat model. Which is why I didn't finish it. It had nothing to do with complexity or difficulty. Don't put words in people's mouths.

For those who like the game- quit trying to wave away real criticisms of it as Biowarism, laziness or dumbing down.  The fact is that this sequel has divided its fandom just as DA2 did here, though for different reasons.

Yes, it has, 95% of the gamers love it just like it is while 5% will never like it no matter what!

This game kicks ass..I'm going to compare it to Dragon Age 2, but let's just say the dev team picked a bad time to "try something new, mass effect mode" and instead of creating a sequal for the game, DA2 was an entiretly different game. The Witcher 2, is solid and improved a large amount since the first.

The unresponsiveness people keep talking about is a game design choice. Geralt has to complete combat animations before switching to say blocking.

In MEMORY tab you can see details of your PC memory banks, in GRAPHICS tab - there are details about you GPU and its memory.

There is some division in the Witcher community with regards to the sequel, but not near the polarization as there was between DA:O and DA2. At least, I'm not seeing it to be as nearly extreme on the GOG boards so far. (The Witcher 2 official boards are down, so many people are using the GOG boards for discussion).

My RAM is DDR2, 8 Gigs of it and works just fine! And my CPU is DDR3. You said your rig is new but the GPU. It's prolly DDR3 but give us your MoBo brand and model and we'll google it for you and even post a pic of your MoBo here for you!

Addai, I still say it's worth trying the game on easy for the story. On medium it starts out quite difficult. I died about 30-40 times in the prologue.

On normal I died a lot in the prologue too, then I started to use everything at my disposal (all signs, bombs, and evade, parry, locking the target on one enemy) and running a lot to avoid be surrounded by the enemy or to get them one by one, and I am having a lot of fun with the combat now.

Go to the building left to the tavern with a door on second floor. It is the blue strip's HQ. Enjoy it.

I wondered what that was about. Weird thing to complain about too.

Demon's Soul is the exact same way. Once you press a button the animation has to fnish.

I said that few posts ago. For some it will always be "poor design"... for me it's "perfect design", makes sense and once mastered, I expect to get real good at it. Working on it atm and the improvements are noticeable and gratifying!

Agreed. It makes killing an enemy in game so much more rewarding when you have to time your swings.

I just installed the weightless mod and yes it works. I'll definitely be using it because I love to hoard everything. :D

Come on, it is a story about white wolf not white mule... :P

LOL... yeah.. I refuse to use a Bag of Holding again. Encumberance makes me walk, which is great in this game. I even learned how to fight under such condition since we cannot run away and dodge!

Now, a storage chest mod is a whole different story! ;)

Missing my point.  Konjusina claimed those who are criticizing TW2's model just don't like good, complex RPGs.  So apparently TW1 is not a good, complex RPG, since I finished and quite liked it.

This is true. I wonder if part of the complaint is because people are so used to hackn' slash games where the hero weilds the sword like a baton and swings it in a milisecond. This game has slower, realistic animations where you must watch closely and wait for openings.

Demon's Soul combat ftw

That's a plus for me. Demon's Soul always punished stupid players.

Geralt is indeed pretty fast compared to his enemies, without said enemies being in slow motion as in DA2 (trying to avoid comparisons to DA2, but paying attention to combat there looked so silly, not just the animations - Geralt is also often over the top after all).

Seems like Patch 1.1 is already on it's way. Fixing most bugs and adding features for Inverted mouse and other features that the players have been asking for.

Nice that the patch will be out this soon. This is on the GOG.com forums btw.

I think you're overstating this. Sure, some people won't like the game for whatever reason. And they're entitled to their opinions. But I read several gaming-oriented forums and all I am seeing is near unanimous praise for this game, unlike the rampant shock and disappointment that followed in the wake of DA2. I don't think the Witcher community is a broken base.

Probably because I lose the throwing knife game as well as the arm westling...
Therefore "A nude lady brandshing a sword" tatto is on my neck forever.:wizard:

Same mission does not necessary leads to same result。 Thats why TW2 is so great.

or u could set the graphic to higher level?
