For those who like the game- quit trying to wave away real criticisms of it as Biowarism, laziness or dumbing down. The fact is that this sequel has divided its fandom just as DA2 did here, though for different reasons.
I think you're overstating this. Sure, some people won't like the game for whatever reason. And they're entitled to their opinions. But I read several gaming-oriented forums and all I am seeing is near unanimous praise for this game, unlike the rampant shock and disappointment that followed in the wake of DA2. I don't think the Witcher community is a broken base.
Yeah, while I think TW2 has its fair share of issues and is far from perfect, its no where near as divisive as what DA2 did. I think most of the issues could likely be fixed via patching or some eventual Enhanced Edition, if CD Projekt wanted to do something like that...maybe to coincide with the release of a console version?
I think all you have to do is look at the reviews for the game to see that while it has its issues (screwy difficulty curve, combat not always being as responsive as you might like, the ending being a bit of a letdown, technical issues and interacting with things being finnicky with the mouse), overall the game is being widely praised as an improvement over TW1 in many regards. Which is definitely not the case you see with DA2, where the reviews generally have it as not only different than DAO but just not as good.
And really, when you think about it, at least in terms of attacking in TW2, its not too different than TW1 with the exception that instead of having to focus on the flaming sword, you have to focus on the actual animations to time your attacks. Although some kind of group fighting skill and some better moves to get out of crowded fights would help a good deal.

Alright I have a dumb question here. How do I run this game in windowed mode? Just downloaded the latest CCC panel and ATI drivers and I'm trying to optimize performance.
In Video and Language options, checkmark "Show advanced options."
On the left side, set the "Fullscreen" drop down selection to "Disabled."

Difficulty Curve... one of the best features. For easy or button=awesome there are other places. Combat not as responsive means action must first before next action starts. I love it. Get the hang of it and we can get lots of satisfaction. Interacting with things... there's keyboard shortcuts for almost everything. (Note that I remapped my keys so I have "space" for quick bar and Alt for accept/dodge) Loot, space bar takes all, dialogues, arrow keys plus alt to select, menus, enter/spacebar/alt works there too). Now, for technical issues, there will be a patch if not fixed yet.
Group attack is now an acquired skill, talent required and available not too long into the game.

Can someone please tell me where can I find Wolf's aloe? I can't find any dog in the world, what to say about wolves.. hehe they were so abundant in TW1, both the animals and the herb.
And that's is my very major complain about the game and it is a serious issue. Where are all the dogs and pidgeons, geese, cats, rats, roaches... they were something that made TW1 even more alive!

How was the reaction for this game's release compared to DA2?
Well if compared Da fans im one of them consider DA2 a very bad bioware game.. Of course there someone that liked the game..
The witcher fans from what i read around are really pleased with this sequel.. For me this is an awesome rpg with action elements... In fact the witcher 2 have a lot of roleplay elements... Nothing like DA2 that most of the quest are schematic bad implemented in story and rushed.. The witcher 2 sidequest are great also the mission on the bullettin boards requires investigation... In DA2 most of the sidequest are like go in the place kill 200 ennemy get the thing and come back..

And I thought the end was pretty good. Figured it was going this way, but at the end you do have an idea what geralt is up to and the direction its going. It doesn't just cut off and end like DA2.
