And does TW2 even have official forums? I
know there are the GOG.com forums, but that's not the same. So it's not
like they have an official outlet to express their disappointment.
Otherwise this thread would be much better off there.

Yup. We have said before the CDProjekt forums are down and even if they are up why should we leave?

The only reason for people to **** about TW2 here is to whine about , piddle around and waste time, or to try and start flame wars; as I doubt the guys who made Witcher 2 are actually perusing the forums here to get feedback about the game. As opposed to ...say my posting here about DA2 because BioWare made it? Just a guess on my part. I could be wrong.

Really? I myself have no opinion on TW2 since I haven't played it (although I am playing TW1... not liking it one bit), so I have refrained from actually commenting on the quality of the game. But I've seen more than a few people who were genuinely disappointed (Addai and UpsettingShorts for example), who are hardly "whining about how easily someone else's opinion sways them from their happiness in life".

And does TW2 even have official forums? I know there are the GOG.com forums, but that's not the same. So it's not like they have an official outlet to express their disappointment. Otherwise this thread would be much better off there.

Finally, snarky comments on the DA2 forums aren't what I would call constructive criticism.

I didn't mean you. Nor UpsettingShorts, nor Addai. So, don't go putting words into my mouth or pointing my fingers for me. I can do that on my own, thanks ( and I try not to point, it's rude). My comment was for the various threads that have been locked (rightfully so, about people whining about people being happy with TW2).

There are always going to be people who are so obsessed with their new toy they think everyone must just play it. DAO and DA2 (insert game here) same thing as some of the hardecore TW2 is the bestest evah suck it BioWare...blah blah blah.<_<

And I wouldn't know, I my husband is playing and I can't because my computer is to old ot play the game. Watching hubby play, and he has no complaints so far. I will ask him tomorrow if they do or don't. I would assume they're getting feedback somehow, since they are working on fixing known bugs. So, something official somewhere.

This thread has been from where I started reading, been polite, not pushy, and full of people who happen to like TW2, despite the snarky comments and put downs. And yes, I agree, snarky are not constructive crit, but sometimes they are fun to and help vent our spleens (and there is not one person on this forum who hasn't been snarky, myself included *points fingers at self* (see I can point on my own, I'm a big girl, didn't even need Shak'n Bake). *admonishes self for being rude and pointing*

And if I sound ****y, it's probably because I am tired of the same snarky put downs and broad brushes being used on this thread aimed at the people who like TW2 (and at the people who liked DA2), so far, in the same ****ing manner as on the DA2 threads. And it seem to be the same culprits.

I talk to people who are puking up their guts, pulling their hair out in clumps, having their skin or their throats burned from radiation, etc. and basically in fear that they are going to die, or that they are dying. If I seem a little puch drunk and sensitive at the end of a day or the week...well, I never claimed to be a saint and I hope you'll forgive me.

edited for wrong use of a word.

IIRC, corpses should be in groups of three. If a rotfiend is spawning in an area, corpses should be nearby.

- first group is near the gate, near a broken wagon
- second is south of the old tower/brothel and is near the scouts
- third group is on a path going to the hermit/visionary. It's near a group of guards at the upper-right area.

I spared Aryan in the duel, he was in the prison, helped me to go to a secret escape route, and then he pulled an anders and blew up the prison

Bah,he chose death before dishonor and I gave it to him. Would've been a solid bro, but at least I got to shove it in his mummy's face.

I love that though. Even in the Prologue you can roleplay a character with actual choices and consequences.

Double.

Meh. Trolling is a art. You have to take a falsehood and make it believable. DA2 being better than TW2 is just so far out of the realm of resonable opinions that you're just not going to catch anyone.

Rather, you should call TW2 "immoral" and "Cheauvanistic," claiming that it degrades women and is filthy, compared to Bioware's "classy, mature" representation of adult women in DA 2.

You should argue that TW2 shouldn't be bought by anybody or praised at all due to this. You have to twist something into a falsehood and use that for your trolling, you can't just claim something patently untrue and do nothing with it.

0/10. You have serious work to do on your form.

Ok, I started the game yesterday and now I'm in Flotsam exploring a bit.
So far I'm really impressed with the engine (even though I don't have an high end PC so I'm just playing on medium details) and the attention to the little things. Still, I haven't seen much emotions on the NPC's or Geralt's face, which is a shame :/

About the minigames (I know, not the most important thing in a game, but I like them): I like the wrestling one, even if it's a bit too simple, and I love the way they improved the fighting minigame (I hated that one in The Witcher 1). The dice game however... let's say the first time I let half the dices fall off the board lol; I'm getting better though!

All in all I think it's a good game so far, the only thing that I'm really disliking is the combat: I didn't think it was possible, but for me it was better in The Witcher 1. Maybe it'll improve later on with some more talents, at least I hope...

DA2 did a much better job at making me care than TW2, but that's entirely subjective.

Objectively, I would say TW2 is the better game. But I don't know if/when I'll finish it.

This may sound weird, but I'd love to play a cRPG from CDP that wasn't based on the Witcher series.

In terms of which recently released game tramples over everything, in my opinion that game is L.A. Noire.

Indeed, DA2 has the bold, charming, strong and independent woman Isabella compared to the cheap Polish wh*re Triss in TW2, who exists only as eyecandy for lonely nerds.

That's a fair assessment, really. Being engaged by the narrative and characters is something that's different for all players. If you were drawn into Dragon Age 2 but not Witcher 2, you'd obviously enjoy it more even if you realise that as a game, Dragon Age 2 is more flawed than Witcher 2.

How is L.A Noire? Most feedback is pretty good and I've been planning to tackle that post-Witcher 2.

2/10.

You have to make it seem somewhat believable...

But you get 2 points for adding a touch of racism into it.

@mrcrusty Take your time with Witcher 2. Because L.A Noire is great. Any rpg would benefit so much from the facial tech used in the game. I'm enjoying it but it's on hold until some Witcher 2 playthroughs are done. Some of the best voice acting I ever heard in a game combined with the facial technology it really adds a lot to the game.

LA Noire is great but there doesn't seem to be much game there, or replayability for that matter. It's more like an interactive moviie.

No. He needs a complete change of attitude about trolling before he has any hope of successfully trolling anybody. Oddly enough, trolling is helped by having a successful social life. Insular virgins tend to make for very poor trolls, and often produce results like his, where they just make something up and cling to it, repeating it time and time again to see if it trolls somebody the next time.

L.A. Noire is one of the best, and most unique games I've ever played. To go into too much detail would be off-topic, but there are quite a few solid reviews out there.

I don't often give numerical scores because I think they're arbitrary, but if I had to it'd be up there with Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri with a "minor issues not even enough to drop it half a point" score of something like 9.6-9.9/10.

Where the "game" is is in your own internal pressure to think.  The game of wits with NPCs is unique to L.A. Noire.

The criticism above that re-playability probably isn't on the table - beyond replaying missions for better scores - does ring true. On that front, I'd recommend making sure to do all the available sidequests as you go, even if the main cases compel you more, because going back after won't quite feel the same.
